Cotton Enforced Ice versus 50BMG

DemolitionRanch poses the question, “Ice is not very good at stopping a 50BMG…….what about ice that was frozen with cotton to give more structural support?”

    There was a proposal during WWII to build an aircraft carrier out of ice reinforced with wood fiber. The ice would have been many feet thick, and would have been nearly indestructible. Not only did the wood fiber strengthen the ice, it made it much slower to melt.
