The former Marine that shot and killed “American Sniper” author, former Navy SEAL Chris Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield was found guilty of capital murder on Tuesday.

Eddie Rath Routh, the defendant in the case, will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Attorneys for Routh argued the he was not guilty by reason of insanity, however after deliberating for two and half hours the jury rejected that argument, rendering a guilty verdict.

“We have waited two years for God to get justice on behalf of our son,” Littlefield’s mother, Judy, told reporters following the decision. “And as always, God has proven to be faithful, and we’re so thrilled that we have the verdict that we have tonight.”

Routh, 27, confessed to killing Kyle and Littlefield at a gun range in Texas on Feb. 2, 2013.

Sorry….I don’t see how this isn’t a death sentence. But I guess I wasn’t on the jury so I don’t know all the facts….but still.
