The Edge is a four barreled pistol now being chambered in centerfire variations.
Remember the Reliant from Edge arms that made a stir about a year ago? It’s the 4 barreled badass, if that helps jog your memory. When Edge Arms originally announced the Reliant, it was chambered in .22 win mag. During testing the engineers ran into a few reliability issues with the rim fire ammo, which slowed things down.
Now they are holding off on the .22 version and will be launching a centerfire version, instead. The Reliant will be chambered in .32 HR Mag, .32 ACP, .380 ACP and .38 Special +P. They will offer interchangeable barrels for each of these calibers. The example we got to check out felt good and solid.
Check out the photo of how the “revolving” firing pin system works. It reminds me of a Webley-Fosbery cylinder–but on the inside, so it shouldn’t get gummed up with dirt.
How will the new gun change things? At the very least, it gives one more option. Now you can choose between a mouse gun, a belly gun, an old school derringer or a variety of multi-barreled guns. Variety is always good. So is reliability. We are looking forward to seeing how they perform. Edge Arms said to expect a March 2015 ship date.[one_half]

Because there’s no moving parts there’s nothing that could possibly jam when shooting through a purse or coat for instance or you can even put it right up against your attacker and let go with one. They tout the closeness where this weapon would excel comparatively speaking. That .38 Special sounds like a less expensive way to go as that’s the same round I practice with instead of the more powerful and more expensive .357 Magnums. Anyway, I think I’ll at least go and check one of these out once they’re released and if I like what I see I’m buying!!

What kind of recoil does the 38 Special Reliant compare to??
Looks like a COP .357 but less powerful. If it weighed less than 20 oz and were chambered in .357, .40, .41 or 10mm I’d consider it.
.40 S&W would seem about ideal, IMHO.
The advantage over the J-frame revolver or an auto is fewer moving parts.
Aside from the bulkiness and novelty, it does have one big redeeming feature: those 4 black muzzles pointing straight at the bad guy! Kinda gives it a “crime prevention” appearance, IMHO.
Seems like a J-frame revolver would get the same thing done with a smaller foot print and a 357 or 327 option…that being said, why not…cause this is Merica!!!!

it appeals to my odd lust for weird appliances but that’s not to sell a lot of them.put me down for a 38spl.
and I agree with the writer it should be able to selectably fire all four but that would make it a machinegun.

Isn’t it just a remake of the old COP .357 of the 80’s, Seems it didn’t last long.Why would you want would you want to carry something that thick with only 4 round’s (8 with the “speed loader”) when there’s numerous automatic’s in about any caliber with a lot more round’s? I think It’s likely to be another oddity novelty piece, not really practical in my opinion.

I had the same thought. At least the COP was a .357 mag. I seem to remember it was prohibitively expensive. So I never gave it any serious attention.
It’s basically an updated, but less compact Remington-Eliot 4-barrel derringer, in more effective calibers.
