Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is dead. May she rest in peace.
President Trump has signaled to Republican lawmakers that the party should move to fill her seat on the high court “without delay.”
“We were put in this position of power and importance to make decisions for the people who so proudly elected us, the most important of which has long been considered to be the selection of United States Supreme Court Justices,” Trump tweeted late last week. “We have this obligation, without delay!”
If Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell succeed at putting a pro-gun Justice on the bench before the president’s first term is over, it would be a death knell to the gun prohibition lobby. There would be a 6-3 conservative-leaning majority for the foreseeable future!
No one knows this more than failed 2020 presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg and his minions at Everytown for Gun Safety. In a memo (see below) published on Wednesday, leaders for the group explained exactly what’s at stake… In a word, EVERYTHING!
“Justice Ginsburg’s replacement will have an enormous influence on the health and safety of Americans, and that’s especially true when it comes to gun violence,” said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety.
“As the NRA and its allies continue their campaign to use the courts to take us backward, it’s more important than ever for voters to understand how many common-sense laws — and more importantly, how many American lives — will be put at risk if the gun lobby succeeds,” he continued.

Specifically, a pro-gun SCOTUS could strike down may-issue concealed carry laws, bans on commonly owned black rifles and accessories, gun confiscation schemes that allow law enforcement to seize firearms from individuals accused — not convicted — of being a threat to public safety, prohibitions on transfers and sales between private individuals, among others infringements on the Second Amendment.
Given the gravity of the situation, Shannon Watts vowed to “fight like hell” to stop Republicans and Trump from appointing the next justice before the 2020 election is decided.
“We unequivocally oppose any confirmation to the Supreme Court before inauguration day, and every one of our nearly 6 million supporters will fight like hell to make sure that the American people –– not President Trump and Senator McConnell –– get to decide who picks Justice Ginsburg’s replacement,” she said.
Everytown is running scared. Rightfully so. All of Bloomberg’s billions won’t matter if the Supreme Court is loaded with individuals who recognize and uphold the operative clause of the 2A, “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

So, the new SCOTUS member will ban tobacco?
Because that MAY have such influence, but little else would.

Hey Watts, you’re wasting your time “fighting like hell” because the Supreme Court position is specifically supposed to be appointed by a president and not by the American people. Maybe you should re-evaluate your worldview if you don’t even understand how the system that you’re fighting against works.
This has been a century long plan from prohibition. The progressive/ communists are just furthering than plan through useful idiots. What happen to our “Ozone” problem? Every decade or so they come up with a new fear agenda to get the lemmings to follow each other over the cliff. Firearm laws are exactly how they used to control CCW licenses of old. You have to prove to the government why should be able to own it. That’s what the background checks are for. Funny because before 1968 Nfa act you or a felon could order a firearm through the mail delivered directly to your door. The government has no right under the constitution to deny a 2A right unless “They” can prove in court why you shouldn’t have it under law. The 2A is a god/natural right that does not come from government. We need to repeal the 1968 Nfa act and eliminate these gun control groups in an instance. “Well Regulated” means “To be ready“ and not for the government to regulate it. Propaganda.
So let’s say that New Town wants to void the Constitution of the United States 🇺🇸 We need to make sure that does not happen.

The constitution SPECIFICALLY gives the power to enact law to the congress – not the judiciary. The judiciary’s responsibility is to determine if the case before them is constitutional. So, why has (almost) all of the left wing movements that FAILED in the congress been effectively enact via the Supreme Court of the USA over the last 50 years?
It’s won’t be a SOLID 6-3 its a solid 5-4 because of Robert’s the wishy washy Justice!

It makes me sick to my stomach but the survival of America as we know it depends on the success of President Trump.

Problem is the fickle John Roberts: he keeps turning down 2A cases while still trying to figure out the difference between a tax and a mandate….
Right, Roberts is a windsock. It’ll be a solid 5-4 majority with Roberts making it 6-3 if he feels like it on a particular day.
Trump’s SCOTUS pick will destroy the democrat agenda for the next 20 years at least. Also the democrats won’t be able to follow through with their fraud by mail plan to steal the election. Trump is just doing the job that we elected him to.
