Support for gun control has surged during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a new national survey commissioned by Everytown for Gun Safety, the gun-control organization largely funded by failed 2020 presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg.

Everytown tapped the pollsters at Global Strategy Group last month to ask 1,500 Americans whether gun control was “more important” now than it was before the outbreak.

Specifically, two issues were highlighted in the poll (conducted April 17-22): background checks on all gun sales (aka universal background checks) and disarming domestic abusers.

Pollsters then followed up by informing the respondents of the recent spike in gun sales since the country began to go on lockdown to monitor whether that info impacted their stance.

Estimates suggest as many as 4.3 million firearms were sold in March and April, approximately double the number during the same time last year.

Main survey results were as follows:

  • 60% of Americans said that requiring background checks on all gun sales was “more important” now than before the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
  • After being informed of the spike in gun sales, 70% of those surveyed said that requiring background checks on all gun sales was “more important” now than before the pandemic.
  • 68% of Americans said that passing legislation to keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers was “more important” now than before the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
  • After being informed of the spike in gun sales, 72% of those surveyed said legislation to disarm domestic abusers was “more important” now than before the pandemic.

“This poll makes it clear that for voters across the country, and across political parties, the pandemic has only intensified their desire for common-sense gun laws,” said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. “Support for gun safety is surging, along with the electoral prospects of candidates who pledge to do everything in their power to prevent gun violence.”

Poll: 70 Percent of Americans Say Gun Stores Should Be Closed

“Americans are now facing dual crises — the global health pandemic, and the gun violence crisis, which shows no signs of stopping,” said Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action. “This polling makes clear that Americans will prioritize gun safety when they vote in November.”

One can argue that this poll is completely worthless. Convicted domestic abusers are already prohibited from possessing firearms under federal law and anyone engaged in the business of selling firearms must conduct an FBI (NICS) background check on the purchaser before the transfer can be completed.

In other words, there are laws already on the books that satisfy the widespread public demand for those policies.  Ergo, no new gun control is necessary!

With respect to background checks, there is an exception for private sales or transfers in certain states. Meaning, neighbors, hunting buddies, family members, etc., can sell or transfer a firearm to one another without having to run a NICS check.

However, it’s illegal for one to sell or transfer a firearm to someone he or she knows or has reason to believe is a prohibited person.  A neighbor or hunter or family member would be liable under federal law if he sold a firearm to someone he knew was a felon, a minor, a domestic abuser, a drug addict, etc.

Bottom line is that we have all the laws we need to arrest, charge, and incarcerate those individuals intent on doing harm to others. We just need to do a better job of enforcing ’em.

And, short of that, we need to ensure that responsible and law-abiding Americans have the means to defend themselves when the system fails.

I have not faith in the validity of that poll. I am sure if you only poll the socialist/soon to be communist you would get at least 90% agreement. Since they want no one to own a firearms , Why do the leftist carry them on the sham protest to loot and burn? It is time for true Americans to prepare for a highly potential up and close violent repression of our freedoms. Prepare now. Obtain food and medical supplies and guns and ammo. It at all possible heavy weapons. Even a black powder cannons can be really effective in the large cities.

  • MAglide May 28, 2020, 12:28 am

So gun sales are up huge, but people are more for gun control now. Apparently the people that bought several million firearms in just two months were not among those polled…

  • Allen Headley May 27, 2020, 12:26 pm

What good are the laws we have on the books if they are letting the convicted out in droves across the county. Keep in mind that for every law, rule and or regulation it takes your tax dollar to enforce. So what good is spending your tax dollar to put anyone in jail if you just let them out the back door.

  • MIKE OKELLY May 24, 2020, 7:49 pm

    another BS poll

  • Christopher Chason May 24, 2020, 1:57 pm

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!!!!! We know!!! Heard it all before! They asked 1500 DEMONCRATS in gun-hating districts (gated and protected by men with Firearms!) All BULLCRAP coming from sub-human garbage receptacles! NO ONE in the REAL WORLD CARES what they’re opinions are! WE are ones who own FIREARMS!

    • Sierra Victor Bravo October 30, 2020, 7:36 am

      Mr Chason, EXACTLY!

  • Andrew N. May 23, 2020, 5:48 pm

I no longer believe any polls. I used to get called all the time for polls before the Obama era. They asked their questions, and sometimes, not always, would ask about political affiliations at the end. During the Obama era, they started asking your political affiliation at the beginning. If you said “Republican” or “Conservative”, they thanked you and hung up. If you said “Independent” or “undecided”, it was about 50-50 if they hung up. If you said “Democrat” or “Liberal”, they would then continue the survey. How do I know? I tested it on the callers. So, truth be told, they only poll people they think will give them the answers they are looking for. I eventually got tired of doing them, and just started saying “Republican” every time. It stopped fairly soon after that. That’s why I don’t believe so-called “polls”. The results? Look at the 2016 Election. Hillary was supposed to win in a landslide according to all those polls. How’d THAT work out? Trump in 2020!

  • RealityCheck May 23, 2020, 11:56 am

As others have pointed out, we already have all the laws on the books that meet and even exceed what the poll suggests we need. The poll just goes to show that most people do NOT realize that the laws are already in place to do this. 2nd Amendment advocates need to do a better job of educating the public on just how much is already in place to take care of the concerns raised in the ‘bogus’ poll.

  • Scott W Syverson May 23, 2020, 10:34 am

This is not a ‘one or the other’ scenario. It is possible for both findings to be occurring. Gun sales are up and those fearful want to reduce their threat matrix, which means anyone with a gun. America has always and will always be comprised of factions. Let me remind you that it only took 1/3 of Americans who supported the overthrow of their British lords, over the 1/3 Tories and the 1/3 neutral bystanders to get the job done. You also have to understand that survey companies have a bias to obtain results their benefactors want. They’re no dummies, they want more work and you do that by proving benefactor’s point of view. The only unbiased information in the story is the number on gun sales.

    • Jake May 23, 2020, 12:23 pm

Another propaganda oriented “Push Poll.” Pretty sad they are always finding morons to poll who think people buy guns without filling out a 4473.

  • Kane May 23, 2020, 12:45 am

I wonder if putting “moms demanding action” and “cocks not Glocks” in touch with each other would somehow placate the two organizations?

    • Christopher Chason May 24, 2020, 1:58 pm

      ROTFFLMAO!! Best idea yet!

  • Marc Petit May 22, 2020, 11:45 pm

This coming from Bloomburg, who sent out print add’s saying he was leading in the polls, ahead of everyone in the Primary’s, so you should vote for him. Two weeks later he dropped out, sounds like he is a friend of the truth.

  • Varmint May 22, 2020, 10:08 pm

Anything this bloominidiot bloomberg does is a lie and deceitful to the extreme! And this survey is bogus to, remember “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED” AND THIS AIRHEAD WITH HIS BIG GULP ATTITUDE SHOULD BE STRUNG UP BUT BECAUSE HE HAS BILLIONS TO WASTE HE THINKS WE SHOULD BE A COMMUNIST COUNTRY, YOU BETTER UP YOUR SECURITY YOU SOB BECAUSE THERE ARE THOSE THAT THINK YOUR TIME IS UP!

    • Christopher Chason May 24, 2020, 2:00 pm

FACT! He seems too forget that WE are ones who are ARMED!

  • Bruce May 22, 2020, 7:43 pm

Are you kidding me? It appears Bloomberg has bought and paid for both the “Survey” AND this “News” report.

By all other legitimate reports, the sales on firearms, and ammunition have skyrocketed. Statistics from government sources, such as the NICS System (Background Checks). The FBI, and the BATF all substantiate this.

Antigun groups use this type of campaign to further brainwash impressionable minds in an attempt to gain their support.

Based on the real numbers, and with the swell of sales, it seems to have backfired on them. But shame on you and them for continuing to promote such false information and outright lies.

Considering the MILLIONS of dollars Bloomberg has spent on his antigun propaganda, think of what real good he could have done with that money helping homeless, hungry, or sick and dying people in need.

    • Christopher Chason May 24, 2020, 2:02 pm

Exactly right. But these types hate those pesky things called FACTS.

  • BIGKIELBASSA May 22, 2020, 6:17 pm

What a liberals biased crock of 💩.. Moms against the Second Amendment tries to pass off this biased crap as a legitimate poll . Which it isn’t . Propaganda lies by communist mothers against Americans…. Just goes to show you just how far there freaks will lie just to overthrow our RIGHTS … Now O have to buy yet another firearm just to spite these 🍉🎂loser communists.

    • Christopher Chason May 24, 2020, 2:03 pm

Sounds like a plan too me! I think I’ll pick out a new one myself. CHEERS, Bro!

  • Wayne May 22, 2020, 5:06 pm

Maybe these gun Manufactures (Colt) should step up production and make some sales! I’ve been wanting a Python for 6 months and nobody has them. What’s up?

    • Christopher Chason May 24, 2020, 2:05 pm

Finding flaws in the new Pythons, Wayne: They are trying to work-out the “Bugs”.

  • Bobfrommosinee May 22, 2020, 4:24 pm

The numbers of gun sales belie this supposed poll, Record numbers of new gun owners, Even among those who supposedly support more gun control, Who get an education when they go to purchase a firearm because of this pandemic, and Find out, You can’t simple walk into a Gun Shop and walk out with a Firearm…..

No matter who you are, You have to undergo a NICS, Fill out a 4477, and if required by the state they live in, Sitting out a waiting period, Yes it is fun working in a gunshop and watching liberals come in and demanding they need a gun to protect themselves and their family, And the threatin ” Do You Know Who I AM ! Yes some minor city, county, state, and federal politician, Who violated the Constitution and the II Amendment by passing and putting in place gun control laws that are UnConstitutional ….

    • Christopher Chason May 24, 2020, 2:06 pm

      Amen, Bro!

  • Leonard Stepen May 22, 2020, 3:33 pm

Everytown for Gun Safety published a survey, showing we believe in their mission. Sure we do. We all believe in polls, don’t we? Especially the self-serving kind. The same thing that showed us Hillary leading and was going to win the presidency is now telling us we want gun control. Yeah, sure, another fairy tale from a jester-sized wealthy spoiled charlatan.
No thanks, I am not going to swallow that pill.
I am old enough to know that even as laws change, we will always have liars who will be believed by the naive and this story is just another lie, not worth reading.

  • Victor Gore Chamoun May 22, 2020, 3:24 pm

This is nothing more than bullshit. That’s the only weapon this prick has. He is now hated by every American citizen that has watched him murder old people in NY. He has also made a big profit off this pandemic!!

  • Tom May 22, 2020, 2:21 pm

Absolute nonsense. Firearm sales are thru the roof. More liberal lies

  • Chad Kernutt May 22, 2020, 2:08 pm

Polls…. lol because they nailed what the public was thinking in 2016. looks like TRUMP is down 10+ points to a democratic nominee again he’s definitely going to lose the election like these pollsters predicted in 2016 and like they just nailed the public opinion on guns. Stop polling on the west coast and in New York and go to the swing states for closer answers, Florida is split down the middle politically maybe you should be polling there.

  • Philip May 22, 2020, 1:43 pm

Over the years I have been polled literally hundreds if not thousands of times for all manner of issues though mostly politically related preferences, but never, not a single time, related to gun control. Jury duty, you name it, at my age with a working telephone number, and residential address I’ve hit the jackpot in all the “lotteries.” So, what are the odds of being missed in one of these gun control surveys? Unless of course could it be the survey is stratified to “overlook” conservative zip codes. Makes one wonder.

  • Oveida Sinclair May 22, 2020, 1:38 pm

The survey is biased and most likely an outright fabrication, have you been to a gun store lately, they’re near empty, ammunition stocks are low, if non existent. AR & AK rifles are sold out as are a lot of popular hand guns. Boycott Wal-Mart’s, they signed onto the globalist anti gun crusade when they stopped selling hand gun and 5.56/223 ammunition.

  • Vlad Tepes May 22, 2020, 1:37 pm

States with lax gun laws funnel tens of thousands of second hand guns into States with tough laws. The Chicago study proved that the average age of a gun used in a crime was 13 years old and had been through many hands and sold to people who never would have passed a back ground check. This is why universal background checks are so necessary.

1,300 children died last year and triple the number were crippled for life because irresponsible people left loaded guns lying around the house for their children or children who came over to play to find and kill or cripple themselves with.

Guns not locked up in gun stores and in homes let criminals simply walk in and take them by the truck load which then funnels the guns into the hands of lunatics and criminals. This is why safe storage laws are so necessary. Every civilized country on earth has had such laws for decades because they work and are necessary. Because the U.S. does not have such Federal laws crime and homicides and mass murders are rampant which only fuels the calls for complete banns on many types of weapons.

Mental tests and mandatory safety training as well as knowledge of the law on when you can use deadly force also should be mandatory in every state and would be if a Federal Law was passed mandating this.

  • Boz May 22, 2020, 1:31 pm

    Dempanic!

  • Michael J May 22, 2020, 1:14 pm

Gun sales have surged during the fake pandemic.

  • John May 22, 2020, 12:58 pm

The anti-gunners have repeatedly shown themselves as possessing little or no intelligent rational or critical thinking abilities. They call for more restrictive gun laws hoping to solve the so-called non-existent “national gun problem” but fail to grasp the fact that such fallacies have never worked in a single instance.

In a nation such as ours that would rather “feel” than actually “think” about false statistics, will never solve any type of problem, be it guns or illegal “drugs on the street.” Prohibiting guns is the same as prohibiting drugs, it simply can’t be done judging by the tons of drugs that enter our society every year. These anti-gunners fail to remember that guns made our nation free, which is why the Founders recognized the God-given right of self-protection by any means necessary. We all have the RIGHT and duty to protect ourselves and our loved ones, and no one or any government may take that away. If the anti-gunners fear firearms, then they should not have them, that is their choice, but those silly fears give no one the authority to take mine away, no matter how they “feel.”

The right to keep and bear arms is my unalienable sacred right, and nobody, man or government, may infringe upon that protected right. May God be merciful if they dare to try.

  • Bob A May 22, 2020, 12:54 pm

From a long-time marketing manager: Polls can be designed/executed to produce whatever results you want.

If you check this organization’s (Global Strategies Group) website — you’ll find its client list includes 4 U.S. Senators (all Democrats) and 30 members of Congress (looked up a dozen or so of them, and you guessed it . . . all Democrats – I’m assuming if you were to take to time to look up the rest of ’em, you’d find the same thing). Their client list also includes the:

    – Democratic Attorneys General Association
    – Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee
    – Democratic Governors Association
    – Democratic National Committee
    – Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee
    – New York State Democratic Party
    – New Jersey State Senate and Assembly Caucus (which is controlled by Democrats).

As well, the causes they have served also are heavily weighted with liberal orientations. Those facts were enough to convince me this survey was designed specifically as a PR piece to produce the results their customer wanted.

Incidentally, a “poll” of 1,500 people (who we have no idea how they were selected) is a “snapshot” – not a viable pole that represents all Americans.

Just more liberal BS – or as Bill Phillips wrote above . . . “More fertilizer for the brains of the left”.

    • Sierra Victor Bravo October 30, 2020, 7:55 am

Bob, it was obvious when the globalists wanted to have the UN police our streets for gun control that it was complete bs.

  • Easy Eddie May 22, 2020, 12:08 pm

I conducted a poll of everyone in my household. The result showed that 100% of those surveyed reject any form of gun control.

Those in favor of gun control should exercise self control and simply not buy a firearm

  • Dexter Winslett May 22, 2020, 12:07 pm

I reckon that is why gun sales have surged. Mikey is a lying fool who ought be hung by his treasonous neck.

  • Ken May 22, 2020, 11:25 am

It’s those damned fools protesting in Michigan and other parts while armed with AR’s and tacticooled up that are scaring the hell out of the non gun crowd.

Those AR wielding idiots are doing more to scare the citizenry towards gun control than all the anti gun politicians put together.

They are making the Supreme Court have second thoughts and thus allowing federal courts of appeal to uphold more restrictive regulations.

We have won a lot of rights in the past 20 years…. these AR wielding fools are going to damage that.

Lets keep it down. Shhhh… no little old ladies need be placed in fear… the reprecussions will harm us.

    • David Welsh May 22, 2020, 12:58 pm

We don’t win rights. Rights preexisted us for centuries. The Second Amendment codified those rights, which apply to all of humanity.

    • Scott W Syverson May 23, 2020, 10:25 am

I could not disagree more. You’re advocating having rights but being too scared to use them. Where’s the logic in that? With state governors drunk on power and taking people’s rights, property, businesses, and jobs with unconstitutional proclamations of emergency power, this is the most repressed and tyrannical I can ever recall since WWII. These “AR toting fools” are doing exactly as our founding fathers envisioned. To put it even more simply, there is a continuum of signs and signals the mass public puts displays the more they are repressed. Peaceful demonstrations of size are a strong signal. Armed peaceful demonstrations are even stronger. It signals that armed resurrection is the next step and is at hand. This is universal, you see it all over the world. Please re-read the Declaration of Independence.

  • Rangemaster11B May 22, 2020, 11:18 am

I’ll believe the gun sale figures over the polls.

  • Robert Reppermund May 22, 2020, 11:05 am

Let any of those sheep ask a real Judge (not one bought and paid for) and that Judge will tell the sheep that the lockdown, arrests for not distancing, and all this antigun crap is against the constitution !
The local representive has said the same and I’ve asked !
New York Opion dose’nt count anyway.

  • Jim Mason May 22, 2020, 10:46 am

Perhaps voting should be as regulated as gun ownership. After all a right is a right.

    • Rangemaster11B May 22, 2020, 11:17 am

      Great analogy!

    • Rangemaster11B May 22, 2020, 11:20 am

A vote is like a rifle; its usefulness depends upon the character of the user.
      Theodore Roosevelt

    • John May 22, 2020, 1:29 pm

      Hi Jim,
You no doubt already know that voting is actually a privilege from government and not technically a “right.”
Here in Kalifornia one must swear (twice) under penalty of perjury, that they are a US citizen before they can register to be a state voter, which is actually a “civil right” as per definition.

I can think of no other right that the People must first be registered before exercising that freedom, usually referred to as “civil liberty.” They like to trick us by cleaver word usage, into unknowingly waving our Constitutional rights. Anything that must be registered is not a right, but a benefit.

The Founders believed all true Rights came from God, everything else comes from the government.

    • Chad Kernutt May 22, 2020, 1:59 pm

Couldn’t agree more. The blue states should start sharing their voter roll info to the feds like they share their fed money to illegal aliens.

  • Zupglick May 22, 2020, 9:56 am

Every word from Bloomberg and his affiliates is a lie. All 1500 respondents were from Hollywood.

    • Aaron M Kane May 22, 2020, 10:13 am

how do you know this ,sir

      • clayton preston May 22, 2020, 10:44 am

it was probably done in a democratic run state. here in Illinois many hate guns. where i am moving to about all citizens carry guns with no mass shootings. take this poll in Kentucky and you will find the results just the opposite.

  • deanbob May 22, 2020, 9:28 am

It is really a shame that the money spent to fight against gun ownership is not spent to help the people who are going hungry and losing the roof over their heads. But politics, agendas, and narratives are more important, aren’t they?

    • dave brown May 22, 2020, 12:05 pm

I have been Party Blind for my 50 years of voting thus I vote for the person or the issue and Never A So-Called Party. I have been shooting for about 54 years and I was brought into the Sport Of Firearms by The Good Old NRA 56 years ago at the age of 12. How about we all try what the NRA use to do and It Worked. Attraction and Eduaction into our Sport. If er want to Blame one side and point out how much money they spend on Anit Gun, then we need to look at how much the other side spends in their efforts to Support Firearms as that is the same waste of money in the big picture. Free Your Mind Be Party Blind. Instead of Being a Complainer Complaining about the Complaners offer up solutions to bring us all together. No we will never get the far right or the far left to join us, but together both sides can find something that works for 80% of more of us. God Bless Us All.

      • Brian Hilgenkamp May 23, 2020, 9:17 am

For every action there is a reaction. If the Ds gun grabbers (Everytown, Brady type groups, media talking heads, politicians, and the protesters members) would not have spent the past 50 years trying to or calling for just about every gun sold to civilians to be banned you would not have pro gun rights groups, members, etc pouring money into their side as well.
And the worse thing the Ds did in 94 was banning assault guns. Before that no one I knew was seriously interested in ownership of one. Sure they would watch a Hollywood movie or a tv show and see one and say “wow, what a cool gun. Like to shoot one someday.” And that would be the end of it.
But when the Ds banned them in 1994 it woke up a sleeping giant. When the ban expired everyone I knew had to go out and buy one before they got banned again. Even those who had no real interest in owning one before 1994.
Secondly more important politically it made gun owners realize that if the Ds could ban the assault gun once, then no gun is safe from banning. If a law banning one gun is “constitutional” then the same law for any other gun is valid as well. I actually saw comments by gun grabbers in social media if they get an assault gun law upheld they are going after all guns that way because if one does not have a constitutional right to an AR15 they don’t have a right to that handgun, shotgun, or hunting gun either. And yes March 24, 2019 a writer for the Salon called for a ban on Bolt action rifles.
You want to be party blind and vote for the person that is admirable but the reality is that you vote D you are voting for Biden who said he would never compromise with the NRA and who also said in a fundraiser in Seattle last fall that he would like to ban 9mm handguns. (Why he picked THAT round gets past me), but the message behind the comment is clear. He wants to ban handguns as well as “assault guns) and whatever legislation behind his comment would include all handguns not just a Glock 17.
What are your ideas? You say you want laws that 80% of the middle would agree on. I would bet that those laws already exist and no further laws are needed today.
        Have a good day!

  • Extar May 22, 2020, 9:27 am

Total Bull Shit! Gun sales have doubled, but people want more gun control. Just more liberal lies. Do you really think we are stupid? We need less Gun Control. It is our right to own guns. Period!

  • joefoam May 22, 2020, 9:26 am

Questionable data from a questionable source. I’m sure the polls were taken in a tightly controlled environment so they could get the desired results. I have to chuckle when I see the post menopausal women in the background in their little Moms tees. Do they have tea and scones after the photo shoot?

  • bjg May 22, 2020, 8:57 am

Quit taking polls in New York.

  • BruceB May 22, 2020, 8:51 am

The 4 main bullets are really just two..

*After being informed of the spike in gun sales, 70% of those surveyed said that requiring background checks on all gun sales was “more important” now than before the pandemic.
How would respondents answer if they knew the ALL of those gun sales had background checks? (How do you know there was an increase if not for it being reported?

*After being informed of the spike in gun sales, 72% of those surveyed said legislation to disarm domestic abusers was “more important” now than before the pandemic.
How would respondents answer if they knew there was already a federal law prohibiting domestic abusers from gun ownership?
Inciting hysteria is all they are trying to accomplish. Typical of the left.

    • Bryan Looney May 22, 2020, 9:37 am

The left loves pushing their beliefs to the uninformed…go into a gun store and try the wink as you lay cash on the counter, you’ll be met with a form and a pen while the owner ask for your identification…while you’re filling out the form put on there that you have been convicted of domestic abuse and see how the transaction goes…with either you’ll probably be talking to a cop outside the shop…

    • Clee Torres May 22, 2020, 9:52 am

      The plan-demic is working.

  • Mark - IN. May 22, 2020, 8:45 am

You know? I don’t believe a word of it especially since gun sales have surged since the Corona-Corona plannedemic was launched, and those sales include first time buyers from the left side of reality. I was watching a show the other night where two men were debating, one right and one left. The leftie was spouting how the crazy insane lady that governs Michigan is enjoying a 60% approval rating during Corona-Corona even though she shuts the state people and businesses down even longer, daily as something new angers her for that day. I live on the Michigan border and can’t say here what the people of Michigan that I encounter say they want to do to her and might if they ever get the chance. So when I hear anything from the rabidly anti-American, anti-Constitution, anti-We The People leftists…I keep my eyes on them because they are crazy insane and on the loose, but don’t believe a word that they say about me.

    • deanbob May 22, 2020, 9:31 am

Poll questions are usually written such that a pre-determined desired answer may be more likely than not. After all, how many polls are even remotely accurate about Trump in 2016 – even the week of the election?

  • allan d bain May 22, 2020, 8:16 am

1500 people huh, I shutter to think how they picked them to do the survey, and how high the degree of error is on asserting that it is representative of main population.

  • Robert May 22, 2020, 8:13 am

So you will visit violence with gun violence? Well ok, at least you’re not anti-gun! lol. This just goes to show even liberals and antifa like guns, which is why the above article is TOTAL BULLSHIT lol. And we all know it lol. And if you were to really “gun someone down” like you said you would, you’d be in jail bubba. And we both know you wouldn’t really do that, you’re just talking shit. Trust me, it’s harder to shoot someone than you think keyboard commando…

  • srsquidizen May 22, 2020, 8:09 am

More gun control IS needed…if you’re not getting the groups your gun is capable of!

  • Robert May 22, 2020, 8:05 am

I’m seeing a lot of BS in this article… First off, who are they polling? They’re saying that a majority of Americans want more gun control during this little stupid “pandemic”? So we’ve sold more guns and ammunition than EVER, but at the same exact time, the majority want MORE control? So you’re trying to convince me that the minority of Americans are buying the majority of guns and ammo. Ok, while that’s technically possible, I doubt it personally. I think a lot more Americans are buying guns than ever before regardless of whether or not they’re conservative or liberal, or democrat or republican. People are starting to catch on, albeit rather slowly IMO, that your safety is YOUR priority, and even though it’s the police’s job, it’s not THEIR priority. A cell phone will NOT save ANYONE at the moment. I just can’t comprehend that there are two majoritys here fighting, and one’s provable (gun sales) and one’s really not (the “polls” that say more people want gun control) You can’t expound gun control while waiting in a gun shop line guys lol. I think “Everytown” is completely lying lol.
Secondly, what the HELL is this “68% of Americans said that passing legislation to keep guns out of the hands of domestic abusers was “more important” now than before the start of the coronavirus pandemic.” ?!?!?! Are you REALLY trying to say that because of a VIRUS… A VIRUS… that it’s MORE important now, to keep guns out of domestic abuser’s hands?? WHY?!?!?! So it’s LESS important to keep wife beaters from getting guns if we DIDN’T have a dangerous virus in America?? What the hell does a virus have to do with how important it is to keep domestic violence convicts from getting guns?!?!?!?!?!?! lol. So when we lick this “pandemic”, those 68 percent people will relax their desire to get that legislation passed? lol this makes ZERO sense and is at the same time funny AND shocking. Also, the 60% people that believe background checks are more important during a “pandemic”… So if we didn’t have a virus running around, background checks are LESS important now? Liberals, which one-either background checks are important ALL the time or they’re NOT, pick one. Little temporary bullshit situations do not lessen the need or make the need greater for stricter rules; they’re either needed or they’re not period. I myself while an avid shooter, collector and trainer loves firearms, does not want Pablo Escobar to be able to walk up to the gun counter in Dunhams and walk out with a scoped .308 that same minute lol. If you feel background checks are necessary, then utilize them 24/7, NOT when you FEELLL they’re necessary. This right here tells me that liberals act out of passion and emotion and not logic. People are walking around all scared and fearful around here because of some lockdown, and I think that’s changing their minds and outlooks about things. It’s fear mongering and it SHOULDNT be the basis for law changes. So when the “scare” is over, your little psyche will relax and become complacent again (as it always has) and now allll of a sudden background checks are LESS important? So am I to assume these background checks somehow make you FEEL “safer” in the mean time? Well if they do, why in the hell would you want them RELAXED, AFTER the “pandemic” then???????????? lol. Again, this makes no sense. This sounds to me like these people are clinging on to some arcane regulation in HOPES it makes them “feel” “safer” without any real empirical or historical data… This is why there should be regulations in place to keep liberals from making rules and regulations…

  • Pub123 May 22, 2020, 7:56 am

In all of “Everytown’s” work, one thing has remained constant – there isn’t a shred of truth to anything they claim.
Bloomberg is irrelevant and keeps grasping at straws, often made up, to appear relevant.

    • Ronnie Pigg May 22, 2020, 8:49 am

There is an ole saying “A Fool And His Money Soon Part!” How did such a fool(BloomMouth) account for so much money? Yet he has nine body guards, all armed and 6’3″ or taller. And if truth was told I bet BloomMouth is packing as well.
All the millions he has wasted fighting an unjust cause, when if he really wanting to help Society, all the millions he has wasted would have been better spent feeding the hungry. His cause would have made him well noted rather than a fool with too much money.

  • Dave Ackerman May 22, 2020, 7:39 am

BULL FREAKING SHIT….WHO DID THEY POLL…lgbtseib

  • Earl S. Manley May 22, 2020, 7:28 am

    THEY NEVER ASKED ‘ ME ‘ !
Talk about a Hot Steaming Load of Liberal B.S. …… SURPRISE , They found 1500 Brainwashed Liberal Fools that want more Gun Control ?

Now even more of ‘ those people ‘ think that Americans want more gun control . Polls are for gullible fools

    • Leonard May 22, 2020, 9:34 am

Odds are, the people that were polled–assuming ANYONE was polled–were likely in states or cities where guns are already illegal or own or sharply restricted, like NYC or Chicago. Those people would likely be jealous of those of us who don’t live in such left wing enclaves and enjoy few or no restrictions.

  • Leighton Cavendish May 22, 2020, 7:18 am

“disarming domestic abusers”- can we see the actual stats on this, please?
and why not take all the other weapons or potential weapons?
    why ONLY the guns?
and what if the victim owns guns? have to take those as well…right? since they would be in the same residence…right?

  • Rob May 22, 2020, 7:16 am

Good morning libtard. You calling anyone a pussy is an example of the pot calling the kettle black.

    • Rob May 22, 2020, 9:41 am

This comment was directed towards Larry Wilson. Dont know why it showed here.

      • Kane May 23, 2020, 12:56 am

Your post probably could NOT stand being so close to Larry.

  • Gary Welch May 22, 2020, 7:11 am

You can get almost any results you want from surveys.

  • Gerald S. Robinson May 22, 2020, 6:51 am

Where did the “news” agency take this poll, at an anti gun meeting. I would be more likly to believe if they asked the same Gun Control questions in a door to door, or at a public site, like a shopping mall, or even at a large box store such as Home Depot, Walmar or Target. And, to make it more believable, take the same poll in three different states that was drawn randomly, and the same drawing system used to pick the city or county of the state. Then have the results averaged for a better answer, that would not be controlled by any political party or large organization.

  • Hendrik Joseph Haan May 22, 2020, 6:21 am

This is what comes the day after Michigan Militia Morons parade around Lansing with their rifles. That served to benefit the cause of the gun control crowd.

    • Michael Chandler May 22, 2020, 8:05 am

“Michigan Militia Morons” that is also called keeping and baring arms!

  • Charles Ward May 22, 2020, 4:21 am

They ask 1500 ass kissing liberals in California really though never believe in polls there made up by Democrats……

    • Kent May 22, 2020, 6:52 am

      Totally Agreed!!

  • George May 22, 2020, 3:59 am

If it has Bloomberg’s name on it there is only leftist bias and corruption involved. The entire survey was gathered in a cow pasture, not in the America I know and love. The imbeciles and sure people who feel that way can stay in their NE and West Coast rat wardens and spread Covid-19 a!long themselves. Stay out of red states where freedom and the Constitution still appies.

  • Larry Wilson May 22, 2020, 3:25 am

Just know that if you are in Texas and you threaten people, I will come out and gun you down. Conservatives are a bunch of pussies.
Fuck you trumpers. You are immune to the truth.
For the truth, you can read Canadian or european news streams.
You need only ask me for my address

    • Ardvark May 22, 2020, 6:51 am

So you sound like you support gun control and at the same time you are all for shooting people because of their political beliefs! You seriously need a mental evaluation or since you probably already have had norm need to get back on your medications! As far as conservatives being “pussies” , I am one and know several others, all of who would deal with your stupidity in an appropriate manner!

    • Ghost May 22, 2020, 6:54 am

      Anytime boy

    • Richard May 22, 2020, 8:11 am

Larry, are you sure your mom will let you out of her basement during the virus lockdown? Better have her bring you another Hot Pocket to keep up your strength while pounding away at the keyboard…..as well as other things. LOL

    • Ronnie Pigg May 22, 2020, 9:06 am

I guess you as all liberals do, had your blinders on when Canada had the mass shooting recently. Also Canada Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau just admitted that gun control does not work in Canada. Never had, never will. This was shortly after the mass shooting and Trudeau banning AR15. Your like all other Liberals. You hear and believe only what you want to believe. Reminds me of people who think others can read their future, thu cards ot gimmicks.

    • Big Al 45 May 22, 2020, 4:11 pm

So, this is the first thing you come up with as soon as you pulled your head from where the sun won’t shine????
“Just know” that intelligent people read your post and knew immediately what a fool you are.
Once again, T.D.S. rears it’s ugly head, and it’s name is Larry Wilson.
You wouldn’t know “truth” if it bit you on the ass.
      So, what is your address?

  • les gus May 22, 2020, 3:13 am

Why does a firearms publication print these kind of lies? At least change the headline to reflect lies of the anti-gun propaganda.

    • Kent May 22, 2020, 6:56 am

Imagine how much Globalist Money is spent trying to strip America of it’s Rights? I’m really wondering about this site?????

    • Big Al 45 May 22, 2020, 4:06 pm

So, you’re FOR ignorance of ones enemies??? You really need to reflect on your own post there, it’s senseless.

  • Bill Phillips May 21, 2020, 10:31 am

What a stupid ass comment about needing background checks on all of the guns being sold Where do you think they get there number from? NICS background checks. More fertilizer for the brains of the left

  • Paul May 20, 2020, 9:13 am

Yeah right…….and I’m sure they have some nice beach front property for sale in Iran!

  • SeppW May 19, 2020, 8:20 pm

Not creditable, dubious, and statistics are likely made up.

    • George May 22, 2020, 7:01 am

Why are comments on this site always waiting for moderation?? Really a pro gun site??

      • Ronnie Pigg May 22, 2020, 9:17 am

Yes, I agree about waiting for moderation, especially when Liberals are allowed to spray their poison. What really gets me? Those bleeding heart Liberals monitoring pro gun sites. Reminds me of Cockroaches, who lie hiding at nite, till safe to come out. Too bad they don’t make an anti-spray to eliminate them.

  • Bobs your uncle May 19, 2020, 10:21 am

Really? whats coming out of the pandemic is more people are starting to think for themselves, and being in control of their own safety

    • Harper Jones May 22, 2020, 5:32 am
