Exclusive: Interview with Donald Rumsfeld

Authors Interviews S.H. Blannelberry This Week

At the 2015 NRA Annual Meetings in Nashville, Tennessee, I had the opportunity to meet former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

Depending on your political persuasion, you’re either like, “Wow, that’s awesome!” or “I hate that prevaricating ass clown.”

Then again, maybe some of you fall in between the two extremes and believe he is flawed just like every other public servant. He’s done some good things, some bad things and some things that we’re just not quite sure of.

I probably fall in that latter category, that is, somewhere in the middle. I don’t love the guy but I don’t hate him either. What I will say is that he is certainly an intriguing figure in American politics, and he was really nice in person! Nicer than one might think, especially considering his reputation.

Nixon, in 1971 was recorded as saying, “at least Rummy is tough enough” and “He’s a ruthless little bastard. You can be sure of that.”

He didn’t appear all that “ruthless.” He was rather soft-spoken and quite gentle in his demeanor. Also, very articulate. I was watching him sign autographs and talk to fans and he was very generous and very accommodating. Like I said, a nice guy.

Admittedly, the interview is not really an interview but more of his quick thoughts on the Second Amendment, his connection to guns and the NRA show. Hopefully, you find it amusing.

Rumsfeld has his faults but his reasoning is not nearly so flawed as that in some of these comments. If you think we went to Iraq for WMD’s then you can’t read a map or think above the strategic level of squad tactics. People died there…yes…and people died here in the US at a time when we had no troops in either Iraq or Afghanistan, and they were killed by terrorists machinated by the Ayatollah’s in Iran. Please consult you map now and consider the strategic advantage of having troops in those countries surrounding Iran. Pity we did not finish the job. You’d have to ask the present POTUS about that…while you’re at it, ask him how he feels about the 2nd Amendment…see whether you are closer to Rumsfeld or our resident mullah.

Rumsfeld is not intriguing, he is a hack job liar. Has Secretary of War Rumsfeld found those Iraqi WsMD yet? He stated on US national TV in 2003 that they were, “… somewhere between Mosul and Tikrit.” Why is the NRA speaking with this discredited political appointee? I thought the NRA had more class and integrity than that. Now, I wonder if I should renew membership or not?

You don’t suppose NRA maybe right, and your wrong ?
Naaa,, I’m sure you know far better that the collective of the NRA..

All you Keyboard Warriors, don’t know a real Warrior when you see one.
Donald Rumsfeld kicks ass. Who want’s a pussy for Secretary of Defense.

      Democrat/Socialist/Liberals, that’s who.
      Bunch of fucking crybabies.
I gotta stop coming to these S.H. BLANNELBERRY Specials.
I’ll let all you Libtards slug it out and exchange anti American Bullshit with each other.

Good to hear so many real Republican voices of integrity on here, expressing the truth as quite a bit of it we heard from Rumsfeld himself . I did look at Wikipedia, as often I do, but quite often there are glaring mis-statements, so I access various sources on any topic. Rumsfelds looks quite different from last I saw it; looks like controversial issues are gone. Then I saw the notation, “Last edited 2 days ago by an anonymous user”. Imagine that; what good timing. Republicans put our country first – true patriots. Neo-Cons put money above all – even it bankrupts our country. Trillions needlessly borrowed from China, probably a trillion enrichment of neo-cons with a huge stake in war industry, and future generations of Americans saddled to pay back trillions to China. Scum of the earth, and the very very least patriotic of any American; they and the Clintons remind me of each other. Rumsfeld, Cheney, Bill Clinton, Hilareous Clinton, GW Bush, Obama – how they have ruined our once great democracy

Globalist neo-con/RINO scum. I hate seeing well-meaning conservatives fall for these traitorous frauds time and time again. As much as I despise the commie left, at least they’re out in tho open. Con-men like ‘Rummy’ hide behind lies and obfuscation, all while wrapping themselves in the flag and patriotic bombast. Old man needs to FOAD.

Disgusting to interview a sellout to the whore of Rome.

  • Damon April 13, 2015, 4:42 pm

Whether he was working from poor intelligence or not, Rumsfeld was wrong about FAR too much about Iraq, from the (evidently non-existent ) “yellow-cake uranium ore” to “the Iraqis will welcome us with flowers and chocolates” to “oil revenues will pay for the war”, and, most damning, because it cost so many lives, the unarmored HMMVs and the criminally slow response in getting suitable armor and vehicles into theatre. A person I consider a “chickenhawk”, and responsible for the needless deaths of patriot servicemen and women.

  • Grant April 13, 2015, 11:43 am

This chicken-hawk should have been plucked and boiled long ago. He and his Neocon ilk enjoy sending America’s brave children to war-after-undeclared war so the Wall Street merchants of death and their shareholders can make a killing off of them. We have more to fear from these ruthless sociopaths than we do from bearded bogeymen in caves. Article. I. Section. 8. of the United States Constitution clearly states that only Congress shall declare war. The last time Congress declared war was World War II, the last war America won. The unconstitutional “War Powers Act” notwithstanding, politicians and the Pentagon violate their oaths to the United States Constitution every time they send our military into harms way without a declaration of war. After eight long and bloody years of war, our forefathers knew exactly what they were doing when they wrote the supreme law of the land. We sink deeper into tyranny every time it is violated by politicians and bureaucrats.

Why this guy is not up on war crime charges before an international tribunal I will never know. He belongs in prison or on the end of a rope.

War criminal, and 9/11 terrorist. Should be charged with murder, treason, and sedition.

    • BR549 April 13, 2015, 5:40 pm

I can’t believe that the NRA and this author are so far behind the eight ball that they’d actually interview this piece of trash. He dumped Aspartame onto an unsuspecting consumer population, made a convenient shell game out of the Pentagon’s lost trillions the day before 9/11, and then under a complete conflict of interest, tried to sell his beloved “Tamiflu” to gullible American consumers, while he was on the Board of Directors for the Gilead Corp, which owned Tamiflu.

Mr. Blannelberry, what part of the word “research” is so offensive to you?

    • Russ April 13, 2015, 6:07 pm

Donald Rumsfeld is an outstanding no bullshit Real Man.
He accomplishes by 30 years of age, more than you could ever dream of doing in your lifetime. (OUCH!)
So turn off your bias media news sometime, so you can be in tune with the facts, and the real world.
I know the Truth Hurts Liberals.
Try to endure the pain of reality, and get educated.

This pompous S.O.B. once said that the Draft in previous wars was not worth it. You low down, dirty dog. Go count the draftees lying in cemeteries all over Europe and the Pacific Islands, Normandy and many at the bottom of oceans.
He later apologized. I don’t except it nor believe this prick and I blame his public existence on the Bushes.
