One of the more unique products I saw at SHOT Show 2023 was the F.A.B. Defense GL-Core IMPACT buttstock. Designed to reduce recoil by utilizing a shock-absorbing spring, this new stock could turn your existing platform into a much more pleasant one to shoot.
- Patented Recoil reduction mechanism with three variable recoil settings
- Minimizes felt recoil by up to 50%
- Improves accuracy
- Reduces shooter fatigue
- Works with multiple platforms and calibers
- Easy installation and adjustment
- Ergonomically shaped rubberized butt-pad
- Interchangeable buffer tube adaptors for Mil-Spec and Commercial tubes
- Inverted positioning lever will not open accidentally
The GL-Core IMPACT has three different spring tension settings, allowing you to customize the amount of recoil reduction felt when using this stock. From shooting a shotgun with slugs, or something like a comped AR, the GL-Core IMPACT should have you covered.
When shooting, the spring is designed to compress to help absorb the recoil and minimize what the shooter feels.
Shown below is a picture of the stock in its normal configuration, and then a picture of the stock compressed like it would be against your shoulder when firing.
This stock comes with two inserts to work with either a mil-spec or commercial buffer tube. It is easy to install, and F.A.B. Defense states that it can even reduce recoil by up to 50%.
A larger rubber butt-pad is utilized, and it is comfortable to shoulder. Ergonomically, I like the shape and the form factor F.A.B. Defense used.
The F.A.B. Defense GL-Core IMPACT stock has an MSRP of $124 and is shipping now. The stock felt great in my hands and seems to be very well made. I for one am very interested and want to see how it actually feels when shooting.
