Father of Shooting Victim Explains Why He Isn’t Giving Up His AR-15

The media’s playbook on national tragedies is about as dirty as it gets. The objective is to politicize these events by finding amongst the victims and their families the most anti-gun and giving them the national microphone.

Look no further than media darling David Hogg, who seemingly has Anderson Cooper’s phone number on speed dial. For the past few months that kid, an aspiring actor who also survived the shooting in Parkland, Florida, has received unlimited airtime to spout his gun-grabbing rhetoric.

As a result, the nightly news telecast has become entirely predictable.  A-block: Hogg Interview.  B -block: Stormy Daniels sighting.  C-block: the weather.  D-block: Unsubstantiated fluff about Russian collusion.

It’s obvious as to why that is. In addition to being hellbent on taking down the Trump administration, the media wants to dismantle the Second Amendment. If it’s not Trump bashing, it’s gun grabbing.

I hate cliches, but perception is reality. Media is trying to change the public’s perception of the 2A. Keep disseminating the message over and over that gun control is “common sense” and “no one needs and AR-15” and that gun “safety advocates” (the media’s term for gun grabbers) “don’t want to take anyone’s guns” and maybe eventually Joe six pack will be duped into believing it.

Sadly, it’s working. Since Sandy Hook, we’ve lost a lot of ground. New York, Connecticut, California and Maryland went from being anti-gun to rabidly anti-gun. Not many gun owners really gave a rip because they seemed to be heading in that direction anyhow. Colorado’s decision to ban certain mags and pass universal background checks in 2013 was a bit of a surprise. But I think many of you wrote it off as an outlier.

Now, fast forward to today, we’re seeing free states fall. Florida just passed a wave of anti-gun measures, including criminalizing the possession of bump stocks and banning gun sales to adults under the age of 21. Vermont recently followed suit, banning magazines and outlawing private transfers.

Note that these laws were signed by NRA-backed Republican governors who claimed to strongly support the Second Amendment! So, if you think your state is safe because you have a GOP-controlled government, think again!!!

What gives me solace during this onslaught is reading about people like Jeff Dysinger and his daughter Hannah.  They are true patriots.

On Jan. 23, 2018, a 15-year-old student armed with a handgun opened fire on classmates at Marshall County High School in Benton, Kentucky, killing 2 and injuring at least 14 others. Hannah was one of the victims. She was shot twice, once in the arm and once in the chest. She survived the encounter.

Instead of joining the media-fueled call for tougher gun laws, Jeff has stood his ground as a 2A advocate.

“I think everybody in rural Kentucky, we’re all brought up with guns, I mean we’ve all been around guns our entire life,” said Dysinger, a veteran and AR-15 owner in an interview with the Associated Press. “Kids in cities like (Parkland, Florida) don’t get that.”

Hogg: ‘All we’re trying to do here is save lives’

Four days after the Valentine’s Day shooting in Parkland Dysinger took to social media to make a statement. When the calls to ban black rifles were at a fever pitch, buoyed by Hogg and his fellow propagandists, Dysinger said the following on Facebook, “Please stop talking about AR-15s. Yes, my daughter was shot, yes I’m angry. But I can tell you it’s not a gun thing.”

Ultimately, Dysinger believes that stopping school shootings is a function of hardening schools and keeping guns away from the would-be shooters. Both in Parkland and in Benton the perpetrators should never have had unrestricted access to firearms. The Benton perp was a minor. And the Parkland perp had a documented history of mental issues.

“I can go lay an AK-47 in the middle of a gymnasium during a basketball game, and I promise you it won’t kill one person,” he said. “It’s not until someone picks it up that it becomes dangerous.”

Like other pro-gunners, Dysinger idea of “gun control” is keeping firearms secured at all times when they’re not in use. “I can tell you, nobody … can get to my guns,” he said.

Props to the Associated Press for getting this story out. Sure, it’s weeks after Parkland but late is always better than never. Hopefully other national outlets will pick it up and syndicate it. The public needs to know that there is more than one side to this story.  Not every victim nor family member is aboard the Hogg train express.

Pro 2a here, but how can you say theres no collusion when so many people are going to jail? Come on guys stop looking like bootlickers it weakens out argument.

I am with this guy. My daughter is also a recent shooting victim. Not a mass shooting, a domestic. But it does not change our minds about how important the 2nd Amendment and the freedoms it protects are. She is an 8 year old with more sense than any liberal I’ve met. And she is stronger than any man I know.

It all comes down to how they are brought up. Knowing that evil acts are perpetrated by evil people. And knowing that having a chance to defend yourself against that evil is always better than being forced to fall victim to it.

I am pro 2A, a life member of the NRA and the ISRA (Illinois) and have read several comments on David Hogg and his whereabouts during the shooting. Be very careful with this issue, from my research Hogg was attending school the day of the shooting. His comments seem to be contradictions but remember he may have returned to the school later in the day and this misunderstanding will be used to portray Hogg as a martyr.

  • Larry Isaacs April 28, 2018, 3:23 pm

It is my understanding that David Hogg did not attend Parkland School. He is grandstanding and the Left Media is carrying his banner.

    • kane May 16, 2018, 10:15 am

Hogg is a student and was present the day of the shooting. There has been a misunderstanding of the news reports that have caused some people to make the claim that Hogg was not present during the shooting. Do NOT make this mistake.

      • AJ November 1, 2018, 3:11 pm

He really wasn’t. He threw himself under that bus in an interview. The interview is still on YouTube but has been conveniently swept under the rug.

It’s not about the guns. It’s about the slow creep of American Communisum. The progressive left (communists) want the populace unarmed so they can force their programs upon them and make them dependent upon the government (ie welfare, Obamacare). An unarmed populace has no retort to an abusive government (hence the 2nd Amendment), whereas an armed populace can resist. It’s not about the guns, it’s about total government control.

We will never see stories like this in the MSM. It doesn’t advance their agenda. The liberals in this country are doing their best to destroy the republic our ancestors fought and died for.

  • craig April 27, 2018, 9:10 am

Here’s a video of D. Hogg explaining how he jumped on his bike to go to the school with his camera after the shooting. Granted, the ‘Truth’ checkers say that he was there during the shooting which is the MSM conclusion but they are less the ‘Truth’ and more a support unit of the MSM to maintain narrative. My opinion.

BTW, it took me about 2 minutes to find this. YMMV, but really, it’s just that easy.

Holy shit that needs to spread like wildfire fire

  • Larry J. Gauthier April 27, 2018, 8:49 am

David Hogg was not at the school during the time the shooting occurred. This little Hitler actor is only interested in self proclamation of his self absorbed world of becoming a great actor at the public’s expense. While he hates the NRA he has absolutely no idea of what they are about. I have been a life member for fifty years. Mr. Hogg is only interested in furthering the cause of CNN and possibly an Anchor chair waiting there for him. He needs to get the facts and stop making them up.

    • FirstStateMark April 29, 2018, 10:26 am

Hell, if he got the facts and stopped making them up, he’d never get that CNN job.

  • Nfafan April 27, 2018, 6:14 am

Please stop calling media Hog a survivor. It’s the fabricated lie of Mr hogg himself.

If he is a Parkland survivor, then I survived Hiroshima, the Titanic, Pearl Harbor, the Trail of Tears.. by not being there.

  • ed April 27, 2018, 5:40 am

MAKE SURE YOUR STORY IS CORRECT BEFORE USING IT IN ARTICLES LIKE THIS. IT DOES MORE HARM THAN GOOD TO SPREAD FALSE STORIES. I AM DEFINITELY PRO 2A BUT THESE REMARKS ABOUT HOGG NOT BEING THERE DURING THE SHOOTING ARE FALSE. CHECK IT OUT. FACT CHECK FOR ONE .

    • Jim April 27, 2018, 9:19 am

Please enlighten us all. And while doing so, list all of your sources of “truthful,” not fake information. I believe hog, himself, said he wasn’t actually there during the actual shootings.

    • Doug April 27, 2018, 10:44 am

Hogg is a grandstander, no doubt – he’s an “aspiring actor”, what better way to make publicity for his “future career” than being this poster child. However, if you watch the whole interview (only part of which is quoted above) he says he biked to school that evening after the shooting.

True the kid is a “survivor” of the shooting like I (and the rest of us) survived 9/11…but propagating proven fake news doesn’t help us.

RedState retracted its story with clarifictions: https://www.redstate.com/sarah-rumpf/2018/03/26/new-video-casts-doubt-whether-david-hogg-school-day-shooting/

So taking a short quote from a story can be misleading.

  • MarkOwen April 27, 2018, 3:44 am

I agree, he claims to be a survivor. Conveniently he played hooky that day and now is conning everyone. The little Hitler youth seems to have had inside info that the shooting was going down. Not saying he was in on it , but very coincidental that he made sure he had his camera ready and rode to the school after the fact.

  • Julian O. April 27, 2018, 3:28 am

Jaque is correct. Mr Liar was never at the school. He said so himself. He is a two faced liar and is using the blood of those poor kids as an agenda to gain himself fame. Totally disgusting!

  • Jaque April 24, 2018, 6:21 pm

DAVID HOGG was not a survivor of the Parkland school massacre because he was never at school when the shooting occurred. He was at home when the shooting went down. When he learned of the shooting he went to the school and inserted himself into the crime scene and falsely representing himself as a survivor. You know the rest of the story. Don’t give this junior Marxist any more Faccetime.
