SlideFire SSAR-15 MOD Adjustable Bump Stock $299 – NOTE: Apparently the $239 price was a “holiday” special, even though it was still there last night January 3rd. As of mid-day today it is back up to $299.
Officially the new feature of the SlideFire SSAR-15 MOD stock is the adjustable buttpad, but I see it more of a toy that has come of age and turned into a genuine tactical tool.
I have been waiting a long time for the bump stock to come of age. When I first encountered the SlideFire SSAR-15 back in 2011, it was relatively unknown. My article actually sold more stocks in one day, and picked up more dealers, than all of the other press that SlideFire had received prior to that, combined. It was the beginning of full auto speeds for the masses, no NFA tax certificate or 6 month wait required. Back then the stock was $350, for what really was just two pieces of plastic, but we all bought them, and for good reason. As my original article explained, the original product did come with a “BATFE letter,” but none of us knew how long that would last, and we all wanted one before “they banned it.” Well, they never did lol. And go figure we now have a much more mature product, with a rock solid feel, great ergonomics and excellent fit and finish. When I first wrote this article, the price had been reduced too $239, and that was in the title of the article, but it is back up to $299. This is still a worthy buy recommendation, and I suspect they are going to still run out at that price. If you want one in the near term I would not hesitate to buy it for full price. This switch turns the bump on and off, and when it is locked down, the stock doesn’t move at all, unlike the original SlideFire and subsequent copies.
Please take a look at the video. I trimmed it down as much as I could, and the only thing left out is installation. To install a SlideFire you just unscrew the hand guard, being very careful to not lose the selector/safety spring. Then you install the slide block in place of the grip, and slide your stock on.
This adjustable stock will be a genuine pleasure for those of us who are fans of bump fire, and if you haven’t bought a bump stock before, go spend the $239 on this one. It is more expensive than the copies out there, but as you can see from the video, this new MOD stock takes bump fire from a toy that makes you crack up laughing (everyone does the first time), and turns it into a genuine tactical tool. If you don’t want to use the bumpfire, just turn it off. The stock itself is rock solid, fees great, and adjusts to your length of pull.
As you’ll see in the video, the finger rest is now removable, so you can completely remove the bump feature altogether into the feel of a regular high end AR stock.
If there is a downside, I think it is that the removable finger rest, which is the core of the stock, is a little bit thin and pushes out a little too easily. For me it isn’t a deal killer, and I’ll be leaving this MOD stock on my ready rifle, which is a Colt. If you buy one accessory for your AR-15, make it this new MOD stock from SlideFire. You won’t regret it, I promise.

 The only thumbs down on the kit is that the finger rest, because it is removable, is not a positive rest, You can bump it out of the way by mistake with your finger. Not a deal killer though. |
 As you’ll see from the video, bump fire does take some practice if you want to dump whole mags, or control squeeze offs of a few shots, but once you get it, the overall recoil and muzzle rise is far superior to a true AR-15/M-16 machinegun feel. |

As a Prepper, ammo is an important issue. From time in service (28 yrs), I hardly ever went to full auto. When I did, it was not more than a three tap at that. I used to get ribbed about my conservative approach to firing but I consistently racked up more downs than anyone else. I hit what I aim at. I don’t waste ammo I may need later.
So if you have deep pockets and you just want to have some fun, by all means buy the cheaper $100 unit and spend the $199 on ammo. Or you can go on line and find out what the pepper movement is all about and get started prepping for what ever man or nature throws at us.
Watch slidefire ‘ video you will see Bumpfire cosistant small target hits including the belt fed 308..no barrel rise. Would not suggest the use of 100 round drums as they can cause barrel damage.I fire 2 30 round mags and let it breathe with no problems in the last 7 years.
I goty one when it first came out and yes, it was a learning curve to get it mag dumping. Fun for awhile but just for awhile. At least I bought one of the competitors for $99 so it was worth the $99. Now, that puppy is loose all over and I only get the 3 or 4 round bursts more often than not.
I have more money in a drawful of holsters I do not like than this thing so that is the way it goes. Mine is on an old AK so no worries. I think all of us at one time or another spent money on what seemed like a good idea at the time but was not

This guy seems more like he is selling the product than a review! I know what supply & demand is.
People would probably use this about 5 times before a) they realize they are running out of ammo b) they run out of ammo. I’m protective of the ammo that may or may not be available if a democrat wins the next election. Remember obama has already tried to ban LAP M855. There is a reason the military teaches controlled fire and picking your targets. Not saying these are not “cool” but pratical; I’m not sure.
In my opinion, practice makes perfect.

I thought I was the only Bly one with this problem! I have mine on a Dpms and I even went to a local gunstore and purchased a new mil-spec buffer tube by Slide Fire just to make sure it was the right one! Tried everything to get it to work but no luck not even a double shot only single shots period! So I went home and switched it to my BCM UPPER Receiver and again no joy. I also have the original version which won’t work on my DPMS upper, but does work on other brands.
With a mil-spec tube it is impossible that it wouldn’t work, unless you got a bad stock that warped after it came out of the mold. You should contact them. As there are no actual moving parts to the stock, if the plastic is molded correctly it kind of has to “work.” I’d say you have a warped one, if it is a standard 556 AR. It doesn’t work on the .308 guns, and the .308 version SlideFire sent me never worked.
It sounds like you are pulling the trigger…keep your finger off the trigger and use the extended block on the left or right side of the unit depending weather you have a Rt or left hand unit.your finger must stay on the extension 1/2 inch ahead of the trigger…when the stock is gently pushed forward the trigger will hit your finger and pulse until you let it go. They cannot fail unless there is a problem with the ammo or the receiver..these never fail.
The only thing that will stop the bump action is you let it go.It is unnatural to push a weapon forward and new users occasionally run into this problem.hold it forward less than 6 lbs pressure it will always work. If you want 3 rounds push forward and let it go.I have sold more than 3000 of these as well as the Slidefire with nary one return.

Way over priced even at 239, In my opinion. If you want to make money as a company, prices have to reflect what people will pay. Sometimes you just have to break even to get things going. I never bought into their over priced one’s years ago and waited, then bought some for less than 100!

Called company and was told that price of $239 was a holiday sale price. She would not budge off the new higher $299. So look at others that might be selling this at a somewhat reduced price, still.

I think it’s way cool but have a few questions: What does it do to your barrel and how is the accuracy while you bump fire a mag? Can this also be 3-D printed?
