Florida Students Hold Walkout to Support 2A, Constitution

Florida Students Hold Walkout to Support 2A, Constitution

Chloe Deaton on the left.  Anna Delaney on the right.  The two students responsible for organizing the pro-Constitution walkout at Rockledge High School in Florida.  Why aren’t they all over CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, NPR?

Funny how certain stories slip through the cracks and don’t garner the constant, 24/7 media attention that other stories do, right?

Part of it, sure, is money. Certain stories are stickier than others and will generate more clicks and attract more eyeballs.  (Stormy Daniels is a cash cow that has CNN laughing straight to the bank.  Do you know over 22 million people watched that Anderson Cooper interview on “60 Minutes”?  Crazy.)  Of course, another part of it is agenda. Certain stories don’t fit the mainstream media’s progressive agenda.  They are flat out ignored or underreported.

Take, for instance, the 75 students at Rockledge High School in Brevard County who walked out of class last Friday in support of the Second Amendment and the Consitution. Why weren’t these intelligent young activists given the David Hogg and Emma Gonzalez treatment?

They may not have witnessed a school shooting but they are students, and what we do or don’t do as a country to address spree killers affects them as well.  Moreover, they represent the other side of the debate.  Isn’t it the media’s job to be fair and balanced, to tell both sides?

“It’s all over the news right now that all students hate guns. I wanted to show that not all students feel that way,” Zachary Schneider, a junior at Rockledge and one of the participants in the walkout, told Florida Today.

Sophmore Chloe Deaton and Junior Anna Delaney organized the 20-minute demonstration.  They made it clear that it wasn’t a partisan event, rather it was simply a pro-Constitution rally.

“We were built on certain rights and that was one of the original rights, that we should have the right to bear arms,” Deaton told the group via loudspeakers.

“The Constitution does not say that government shall decree the right to keep and bear arms. The Constitution says ‘… the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed,'” Deaton added, repeating a quote President Reagan gave at an NRA banquet in 1983.

Deaton and Delaney expressed disappointment when the original school walkout on March 14 was framed as an anti-gun event.  It was supposed to be a showing of solidarity for Parkland students, not a referendum on gun control.

“In the beginning, it started as a memorial to the Parkland students. And that’s how it should have stayed,” Deaton said.

No doubt that the mainstream media helped to reinforce the narrative that students were “walking out” for gun control last month.  But these students at Rockledge prove that not every young person is on board with the notion that public safety is maximized through chipping away at the 2A to ultimately deny good people the right to defend themselves in the manner they see fit.  It’s a great story.  Too bad it won’t see the light of day.

Z, the only valid point you bring to the conversation is protruding from the top of your head.

  • Dusty April 11, 2018, 4:00 pm

Caution: There be trolls here… Some appear to be paranoid delusional as well. What exactly was the original topic? FWIW- If we stay on point maybe the dialog will remain mature and maybe even worth reading?

I notice this is on Florida Today newspaper (in Brevard Country) in Rockledge Florida. This is Central Florida, not far from NASA and Peterson AFB… As opposed to South Florida, land of demon-crats and high-end households. In other words, Central Florida, more salt-of-the-Earth conservatives – South Florida, more yuppies, millennials, and left-over flower children… And lots of international migrants.
    …. Jus’sayin’…

That is all great except the part with students holding a disrespectful mutated rendition of the American flag used to show the police state is its own nation. Why hold a flag in support of the men who let the Florida shooter kill so many children while they(the brave officers) stood outside huddled in fear of a 135lb kid.
And then after this display of cowardice they( the lying officers) had the gull to tell the nation that it was the GUN and gun rights that are the problem and that they ( the low down, Punk ass, lying, cheating coward cops) are blameless and oh so brave and blame the NRA.
The police are the most common and one of the first steps in infringing on YOUR RIGHTS.
Police are not there to help American citizens.
Police are there to harm American citizens.
The police are the arm of the government that abuses the constitution and will be the arm that try’s to confiscate you firearms.
The police are very clearly the ENEMY of freedom and all free peoples.

I would note that the one “law enforcement” agency that does not participate in any of this anti American behavior is the good people of ICE who spent the majority of there time focusing on non-citizens and yet is the most demonized and under funded arm of law enforcement. Why??? Because, the police are used to KEEP AMERICANS DOWN and CONTROLLED while ICE just keeps Americans safe. Wake up. Don’t be sheep. resist the police state.

    • Russ H April 8, 2018, 10:53 am

Calm down Francis, not all cops are as you described – most are excellent professionals who support the constitution and our rights. Maybe you have an ax to grind, I don’t know (it sure sounds like it), but labeling every cop in to one group as you have is not only foolish but also unrealistic. You’ve already made one LE exception (ICE) so your argument already doesn’t carry much credence.

    • Shecky April 8, 2018, 3:39 pm

You really aren’t calling all LEO’s out for this incident are you? I’m friends with many in the LAPD, LACSD and KCSD. There are a couple that aren’t at the top of the barrel but none of them are what you described. Each and every one of them would have entered that school with the intention of stopping the shooter. You sound like a disgruntled mope.

      • Rich April 15, 2018, 10:57 am

If the order is issued to confiscate privately held firearms all your friends on the LAPD, LACSD and KCSD will be knocking down your door to get yours.

Systematic circumvention of 1A rights is nothing new… Liberal shits have been doing it for years. The easiest way for the liberal agenda to silence people is to use the liberal media, which is pretty much everything these days. 100% of the U.S. is against guns if you leave out those of us that support and exercise our rights. Luckily we have our friendly neighborhood patriots running pages like this one or we would never hear about it.

    • Z April 8, 2018, 9:21 pm

Explain Sinclair Broadcasting and then try to justify your bs claim that the news media in America has a liberal bias.

  • Mark Sirk April 6, 2018, 9:02 pm

Hey Z are you scared to put your real name up. First of all the media is the one who have labeled the AR as an assault rifle. Do you know what AR stands for? It stands for Armalite Rifle not assault rifle. When I was in school we used to bring are shotguns to school to go hunting after we got out we never had a school shooting. We need to start teaching kids the proper use of guns and show them how to respect them. A gun is a tool just like any other tool, in the hands of a uninstructed untrained individual it can be used improperly. Just to educate you a little when do you think the AR-15 was made? The answer 1958 if this gun is so menacing where were all the school shooting in 60’s and 70’s. I could go on but I’ve been on this soap box long enough.

    • Z April 7, 2018, 9:59 pm

      Yeah you have.

Referring to the weapon used as an AR style rifle is 100% correct if you take 2 seconds to ask yourself whether the kid in the Florida shooting had an honest to god, factory original 1959 production, Armalite Rifle company model AR-15 . No? You say he had a modern production rifle he recently purchased that was manufactured in a similar pattern after the AR-15, huh. So it was in fact an AR-15 stylized rifle and you have nothing else to say on the matter. Thanks for your misplaced and clueless indignation.

      • Z April 7, 2018, 10:29 pm

The army requested a lighter version of the AR-10 in 1958. The AR-15 was presented to the military in 1959. Thanks for the history lesson.

        https://www.armalite.com/history/

        • Shecky April 8, 2018, 3:58 pm

So you just backed up his point….AR doesn’t stand for assault rifle. Do you know what an assault rifle is? By the way, I could do just as much damage with 5 propane bottles (probably way more). Guns aren’t the problem.

          • Z April 9, 2018, 6:09 pm

He doesn’t have a point. I never said AR stood for assault rifle. He’s just a troll that didn’t read carefully before venting his misplaced and innacurate indignation.

  • Randy April 6, 2018, 6:16 pm

Well I am Proud that young people today taught in school to be liberals by liberal socialists(wether they admit it or not. Or if they have even read the Constitution or not) are standing up to be counted. It is truly inspirational to see such young Patriots whom hear the call.I am a retired US Marine and have fought on many lands for interests that were not my own but strengthened the United States or it’s allies in some way.It may soon be time to honor the Constitution here. There are many quotes from that great document that is the cornerstone of our nation. The last line of the Constitution deserves the most respect “Any Law Given Felt To Be Unconstitutional In Any Way Is Considered No Law At All. The Constitution Remains The Supreme Law Of The Land” as a people we should know that phrase by heart and it should be taught to our children at school( it is not, horsecrap like ” the right to keep and bear arm shall not be infringed IN a malitia”) so it becomes our duty to and to teach our children that it is not a crime to break an Unconstitutional law. It is more like duty to do so and inform others whom may not understand the error of there ways and sway those whom are wrong in there very morality or to identify them as traitors for later dealing (whichever may come). What the 2a opponents don’t understand is they nor the government have the right to CONTROL guns in any way whatsoever. I PRAY that this countries citizens come to realize this and unify against the polaticians that are responsible for the incorrect use of the Constitution, the illegal laws, the false flag events, the wrongful deaths of our people, and the weakening of a Nation. If we do not the loss will be horrible and even more will be lost in the fight to regain ourselves. Some times it takes a slap in the face to awaken us from the sleep we fall into but being too weak as a people to refresh the tree of liberty is a price to high for us to pay.I will not do it.thank you kids you make me proud

I use to work for a Power company. We built Power plants. Our production manager use to have a sign in his office which reminds me of the way the left is now. The sign said “There are 2 sides to every story but I don’t have time to listen to yours”
Some of the earlier post said they were warriors for this country. Myself I served in Viet Nam as a US Marine. From experience the people in this country who want to give our rights and guns away need to look at Russia, China, N. Korea and even closer to home South America to see how people who let a government control everything live. Vensuela just to name one Cuba another. If the government takes your guns you can’t fight back and become no more than a herd of sheep. The kids in our country have become sheep. The government should get T-shirts made to say United Sheep. The way things are going it is only a matter of time before all their lazy asses become slaves to their masters. but not me. A very smart man once said” Give me Liberty or Give me Death.I would choose that rather than slavery. Watch the movie Red Dawn kids and wake up before it’s too late. It may be already. Wake up and see these people running these marches you are following are using your asse’s for what they want. A communist country

Whoever the organizer, whoever the voice is speaking or whatever the cause is the libs turn out to protest what they hate many times in huge numbers. By comparison, pro-gun or pro-second amendment people do not do that. Where is our 200,000, 800,000 or 1,000,000 person march? We don’t have one. Is it because people who are pro 2A or pro-gun shy, scared or complacent? “Well, it didn’t happen under Obama so it won’t happen now”. BULLSH*T There doesn’t need to be a sitting Libtard President or a Libtard Congress, House, etc. to pass gun BANS. Just look at Deerfield, Illinois people … and they hope to be the shining example that other communities, cites, states, etc. will follow? We don’t do huge marches, but we should. We have the NRA, but they are mostly pussies and have been known to give in under media pressure. However, without us being organized, marching, voting, etc, the NRA is still the biggest dog we have – right or wrong in what they do – 3M or 2M members, who really knows – … whatever. The NRA better get busy. The day is NOW coming to your area where the Libs will push to take whatever they can of your guns. “Complacency is Just Cooperation by Laziness”. Speak out – get active – vote – write your elected officials and protest. In the meantime … be sure to buy lots of ammo cause it looks like you’re gonna need it.

    • tom April 6, 2018, 10:06 pm

We don’t have our million man marches because we know that with today’s face scanning and license plate reading technology, 800,000 of the million who show up will be targeted by the .gov. Snowden proved that the most outrageous and unconstitutional conspiracy theory (that the federal.gov was spying on every american) was actually true. Call me a nutjob for not trusting the .gov whose FBI allowed the Florida shooter (amongst others) continue down their dangerous path resulting in deaths of innocents. The ‘news’ is blaming guns, not the FBI who again failed to properly react to repeated warnings about an unstable individual. The real news story is that the FBI and local sheriff’s department were both notified on multiple occasions about the Florida shooter and failed to properly investigate. <THIS is what a society of rational people that were being informed by a legitimate and unbiased news media would be upset about. Go find me the news report about that on mainstream media. No. Now, find the reports about state legislatures trying to criminalize semi-auto firearms or restrict firearm purchases to those over 21. Insanity.

      • Z April 10, 2018, 9:07 am

If you go back a few months you’d see that authors from GunsAmerica were frothing at the mouth over the very idea of concerned friends, coworkers, relatives, ex-spouses, boyfriends or girlfriends being able to register a complaint and having a persons guns confiscated during an investigation. Free Speech they say, violation of due process, they shout. They aren’t wrong. The fact is, neither the sheriffs department nor the FBI had any legal authority to confiscate his firearms until he committed a crime.

        • Rich April 15, 2018, 11:14 am

Under the Baker Act the Florida sheriff had a duty to arrest Cruz and confiscate his guns.

God bless these young Americans. As a combat decorated veteran, these are the Americans I fiught to defend and protect. This is no longer a difference of opinion that a Republic is constructed upon, but a difference in core values and principles, that for most of us, are not negotiable. Those that wish to curtail liberty are our enemies, and we need to have the moral certitude and physical courage to define our enemies and treat them accordingly. Liberty is not to be negotiated for. It is to be fought for more than life itself. Our Founders understood that.

See to your weapons and stand to your horses,

  • Z April 6, 2018, 9:13 am

The authors premise is skewed. It made local news or the author wouldn’t be aware of it. It’s not national news because of the enormous disparity in numbers. Estimates up to 800,000 in the March for our Lives, in Washington DC gets national coverage. An estimated 75 students in a small town in Florida, not so much. Furthermore, it’s disingenuous to ask why every pro-whatever-thing-I-like isn’t covered by national news. There’s no national coverage or awareness campaign for the release of seasonal micro brews. Only the manufacturers and retailers advertise it. Must be a conspiracy.

    • Buck April 6, 2018, 9:54 am

Eighty per cent of the eight hundred thousand were over forty five years of age. The permit for the march had been obtained months earlier. A synchronous moment?

      • Z April 6, 2018, 11:16 am

I’m not trying to equate the student walk out with the march itself. I’m saying one received national media attention for its attendance and the other received local media for its attendance. It’s simpny a matter of scale. Car accidents happen everyday, they only get national media attention when they involve a substantial number of participants.

    • JoshO April 6, 2018, 10:12 am

Was that the first time you heard about all the anti-gun nonsense, when the (actually) 200,000 enemies of the Constitution descended on the capital? Or did you hear about it the first time the kids walked out? And like was mentioned, the purpose behind their walkout was misrepresented by the media.
If you think there isn’t enormous bias against our rights in the media you either don’t pay attention or you’re an agent of the left.

      • Z April 6, 2018, 11:08 am

So in your book people exercising their First Ammendment rights are enemies of the constitution?

        • Rich April 15, 2018, 11:21 am

So in your book people exercising their Second Amendment rights are enemies of the Constitution?

    • JoshO April 6, 2018, 10:15 am

Lol…some estimates put my crank at over 12″ — they’re as accurate as your 800k

      • Z April 6, 2018, 11:20 am

Everyone knows you’re a thumb dick and the 800K isn’t “my” estimate, it’s the event organizers. You might also take note that there were a reported 800 other marches held across the country under the same banner. Don’t underestimate the opposition.

    • Nicholas James April 6, 2018, 11:36 am

The media also failed to cover the massive March for Life earlier in the year!

So your claim does not hold water.

The media routinely covers liberal issues over conservative issues.

      • Z April 6, 2018, 12:24 pm

What claim? That one organized march got national news coverage because of the size of the crowd and one organized walkout got local media coverage because of the size of its crowd? The author is comparing two organized events, claiming one was anti gun and the other was pro gun. The participants of those organized events didn’t frame them in that manner. If you wish to assert that my “claim doesn’t hold water” you’d need to provide proof that an anti choice and a pro choice rally received vastly different levels of media coverage with substantially similar attendance rates. That would be a comparison of opposing view points on the same topic and the media coverage of the same sort of event. You’re trying to compare two pickup trucks with a sedan while crying bias. That my friend, is a false syllogism.

    • JoeUSooner April 6, 2018, 12:31 pm

Z, you’re probably spot-on about the psychological difference in attendance figures, but that difference is mostly not apples-to-apples comparison.

Only about 10% of the marchers in DC actually were under 18 years old, and those teens were bused in from Democrat-controlled cities. In contrast, 7-of-10 marchers were women recycled from the Women’s March Against Trump. Their average age was 49, and 9-of-10 of those women publicly admitted voting for Hillary. Firearms were a secondary issue after their disdain for Trump. What was reported as a youth movement against violence was really a plastic surgery facelift for old Leftist causes… a fact that was ignored by the mainstream news.

      • Z April 6, 2018, 1:26 pm

I think you’re right about the news not going into detail about the attendee demographics. As for the comparison, comparing an elephant and a ghiraffe only provides meaningful information if the point is to compare the differences between the two species. It provides no useful information whatsoever if the point is to compare a male and female ghiraffe. Nicholas James was attempting to equate the two while registering a default complaint about the lack of commonality.

    • Jake April 6, 2018, 1:00 pm

CBS reported that the numbers were inflated and real analysis showed there were only 200,000 and only ten percent of them were school age. It was mostly the Pink Hat idiots, BLM and various communist oriented groups plus Planned Parenthood. It was not a student march and was not organized by the students. Students were the window dressing. It was a Democrat operation with Soros and Bloomberg and their useful idiots.

      • Z April 7, 2018, 10:10 pm

Yeah, I read that on the CBS web page too. Soros and Bloomberg are self entitled ass hats. If they want to live in a serverely restricted country they could take their millions and move out of the US.

  • vincent moreth April 6, 2018, 9:11 am

Do you know where you never see a mass shooting in a school? You never see one in the Hood, and you know why? The teachers, and the other school workers all carry guns. Yeh, that’s right in the Hood teachers and bus drivers and school workers all carry guns for their own self protection. In the so called upscale schools where the administration think guns are bad is where the nutty shooters go to kill students . They know the only gun in the school will be theirs and don’t have to worry about getting shot.

  • Jeremy watson April 6, 2018, 9:01 am

There was punishment in school to wrongdoers by paddle etc., liberals changed policy to take the paddle away from the teachers. Then school of choice policy allows disfunctioned inner city school students to go into prominent suburb education systems and cause havoc, disfunction and destabilization in good healthy schools programs.
Return the paddle, end school of choice and get liberal Communists out of your school policy making!!!

  • gradymcguire April 6, 2018, 8:46 am

It also warms my heart to see some of the young americans standing up for all of our rights , God bless them and may they keep that opinion . Here in Texas we stand our ground .

  • john April 6, 2018, 8:40 am

I think the story answered it’s own question in two comments. No money to support the 2A, except what the NRA gets from its’ members and firearms industry supports and other shooting sports affiliations. The 2A doesn’t have a fairy godfather like Sorros or Bloomberg. (At least if they do, they aren’t stepping up to the plate). Oh, you say the fairy godfather is the NRA…they only preach to the choir. Most of their adds are on networks and magazines that are gun friendly. (I’m sure the liberals read and watch those…NOT!). 75 kids? How does that compare to 500k marching on the Capitol? IF we keep sitting on our rears and don’t get pro-active with our support for the second amendment we are going loose! Look around and see how much rhetoric is out there regarding amending the 2A. This is a wake up call.

    • Z April 6, 2018, 9:51 am

Maybe it’s a simple matter of numbers but in a way you aren’t considering. Maybe the majority of the population don’t own an AR-15 or a combat shotgun or any other military pattern rifle and they don’t feel threatened by the outrage over mass shootings where AR pattern rifles are present. Does a person have to subscribe to a particular political ideology to read a magazine? I’m a registered independent, do I have to cancel my subscription to Outdoor Life? Is there voter ID check to buy a copy of Guns and Ammo? Do you want all gun owners, regardless of political ideology, to support their 2nd amendment rights or only the people who agree with your particular point of view?

      • tom April 6, 2018, 10:38 pm

I must not live in the same nation as you. I live in one of the most non-gun-friendly states (Maryland), and at least half of the adults that I know own at least one firearm in their household. I teach the state W&C (conceal carry) and HQL (license to purchase a handgun) course, along with various NRA courses. My business has increased since the Florida shooting and the political fallout.

The majority of time when I meet someone outside of a work-related context (wife’s co-worker, parent of one of my kid’s friends, folks I talk to while in line at the store, etc…) they either own a firearm or state that they are considering purchasing one.

We have changed as a nation. During the 1950’s, 60’s, and 70’s, many people (and many school shooting teams) purchased M1 Garand and M1 Carbine rifles from the CMP (government clearinghouse of surplus firearms to civillians). In 1965, many households owned one of these rifles that were previously issued to US military personnel in WWII or Korea. The Garand and Carbine are both military-style semi-automatic rifles. The average American had no problem with these in the hands of the general public back in 1970 but today they are having a fit. The thing that has changed is our society and our allowance of an obviously biased media to continue their attempts to indoctrinate us to one side of an issue without presenting the counter-argument.

Your use of ‘military-patterned’ says volumes. You can buy 10 (or more) round magazines for your grandpa’s 1965 Remington 740 hunting rifle and have something that is arguably ‘more deadly’ than any AR-15 ever made – and legal just about everywhere. For the last 160+ years, military adoption of firearm technology has fueled civilian usage of that same technology. More cowboys, lawmen, farmers, and shop owners actually owned Colt 1873 revolvers than the US military. More 1911 (Colt 45 Semi-auto) pistols have been initially sold to civilians than the US military. We are talking about 100+ year old technology here. The AR-15 is ‘military technology’ that is over 50 years old. Except that all versions of the M16 are capable of full-auto or burst fire (3 or more rounds fired with one pull of the trigger) as compared to the AR15 which only fires one round for every pull of the trigger.

If I wanted to learn about cars, I wouldn’t read publications from environmental groups. I would read HotRod or Peterson’s Offroad or some other publication about motor vehicles. One cannot rationally argue the ‘con’ before one fully understands the ‘pro’. A person that doesn’t have experience and knowledge of various firearm types and actions cannot make a rational argument that ‘this type of rifle’ or ‘that type of pistol’ is inherently dangerous. Take it from a full-time firearms instructor – ALL guns are equally deadly. So are all bows, so are all knives, so are all cars.

You give up every kitchen knife over 2″ and give up your Prius and maybe I will consider giving up my guns. But since cars kill a lot more people than guns, it’s going to be a hard case to make.

Well, that was a full blown self agrandizing and tiresome rant.

I’m not arguing against gun ownership. John’s comment was about the lack of a sugar daddy for a pro gun/pro 2nd amendment campaign. You substituted a reply to the lack of public funding with random unrelated anecdotes.

If the house was on fire, you’d call a plumber.

AMEN JOHN!!!….I’ve been saying the same thing…Paul Revere didn’t wait for somebody else to do SOMETHING!

Our History needs to be brought back and taught in our schools again, It has obviously been removed from the standard curriculum required by law so as to not educate our future youth on the importance of how our freedom was conceived, birthed and fought for in this great land of ours.

      • Z April 6, 2018, 2:56 pm

What the hell does Paul Revere have to do with this? His comment was about 2nd amendment advocates being more vocal.
Are you trying to claim that the colonies fought a war for independence with Britain over gun ownership? Here’s a brief history lesson for you, it was about taxes and approximately 45% of the colonists supported the war.

Its good to see not everyone thinks that Gun Control is the problem. Maybe if they find out how the nuts get guns and fix that maybe there wouldnt be more shootings

    • tom April 6, 2018, 10:45 pm

Still not the solution because more government oversight over which individuals can and cannot buy guns can be very easily abused.

Howsabout simply enforcing the existing firearms law? FL shooter made clear and obvious threats via social media that he had the means and desire and intent to commit a school shooting. That is enough for any LE agency to arrest him. Yet none did even though the fact that between the local and federal law enforcement agencys they received over 39 complaints about the shooter prior to his acts.

If federal and local LE agencys cannot effectively enforce existing firearms laws, how does any rational person expect that they can enforce both the existing laws and any additional laws in an effective manner? That is insanity.

        Agreed.

  • James Blosser April 6, 2018, 8:24 am

A 70yrs. old it’s great to that there are some in this new generation that respect what our fore father’s put in writing so that all to follow would not suffer from the repressive environment they had to face. All that say it’s for the militia not the common citizen. Ok, my question is who the devil did they think most militias were composed of? The every day man. Most were rag tag units that were made up of farmers, merchants and anyone else that would fight for the cause. Most brought their own weapons. ” … the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed,’”. How can anyone of any age not understand that. I’ll stop now before anger sets in.

    • NF April 6, 2018, 1:11 pm

I couldn’t have said any better Mr. Blosser. As I said, bring the History of this land to their attention…show them that this land was fought for..so that we would be free and to enjoy the freedoms we have today.

Glad to see someone has got some good ol’ fashioned common sense. I commend theses young people for going against the flow of today’s anti gun culture. Not just to protest, but to stand for what they believe. Thanks!

    • Z April 6, 2018, 9:59 am

According to the student quoted, “They made clear it wasn’t a partisan event, rather it was a pro-constitution rally.”

Despite the authors obvious bias, it wasn’t a pro-gun rally. It was a pro-constitution rally being relabeled by at least one media writer as pro gun. Which is really ironic considering that another of the students didn’t appreciate the way some people in the media framed the original walkout as anti-gun.

We are glad to see that there are high school students seeing the vision of our 2A and other rights bestowed upon all Americans in our Constitution. I believe in it and I hope all high school students should study and understand it. Why live in the dark?
Afterall, America was built upon it. We happen to be the most sought-after nation of the humanity.

  • David April 6, 2018, 7:12 am

In talking with the younger Americans, typically in the 15 – 25 year old bracket, I find that we are raising an great crop of free thinking Americans that are interested in personally questioning and also experiencing life instead of being spoon fed by mass media. God bless them, as they will be the saviours of this great experiment in self government. Having grown up in the 60’s and 70’s, it is my generation and the ones that directly followed us that seem to buy into people being generally peaceful in nature and equality for everyone. Sure those are great ideals but reality dictates that you must be strong to enforce those ideals, personally and societally. These great young American patriots are the best chance we have of those ideals actually succeeding. Those who spout those ideals the loudest tend to be the abject idealists who wouldn’t recognize a predator if it bit them in the *ss. I’m proud of these young Pro-2nd Amendment, Pro-Constitutionalists.

  • William K Berry April 6, 2018, 7:09 am

As you already so correctly stated, fake news wouldn’t dare report on this because it would be contrary to the one sided narrative that they throw out to the American people. I really feel sorry for those who depend on the MSM for their news.

  • Darryl April 6, 2018, 3:48 am

glad to see there are some students who know what rights are and that we need to safe guard ALL of them. warms the heart to see there will be some young people to keep the fire burning for what made our country great to start with. God Bless you young students keep the fight going.

Yeah, about the average III% of the population stepping up to do the nation’s dirty work!
