    STEEL CORE 7.62X25, FROM A CZ-52

  • MIKE REED September 16, 2017, 11:00 am

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED SHOOTING THE GLASS WITH A STEEL CORE 7.62X25 FROM A SURPLUS CZ 52., THANKS

  • Pistol pete August 14, 2016, 4:04 am

The five seven is the most formidable opponent any attacker would NOT want to face I keep mine on my hip and love every minute of it. It’s really not that expensive. Then again I don’t go out to bars and drink beer either saves 50$ a week

I’d like to state that with all the other holes and stuff in it doesn’t that warp and change the integrity of the rest of the glass making this test invalid for the possibility of the glass being weakened from all the other rounds tested?

He never told us what the brand name of the ammo was that did penetrate.

    • Joe mag September 26, 2016, 10:30 am

Hornady both one wasfmj and second was hollow fmj hornandy

  • Ken Corporon November 17, 2014, 9:50 pm

How about the 357 max with 160 fmj or hardened lead. I have shot the lead bullets thru telephone poles.

  • steve younger November 17, 2014, 9:42 pm

    .22tcm

  • Stan Jones November 17, 2014, 4:41 pm

    try a 22TCM

Round was originally designed to defeat body armor. Bullet resistant glass is designed to spread the impact over a larger area. Very small high velocity projectiles like this don’t have the frontal area to initiate the expansion in the glass. Look at the bubbled areas from larger caliber impacts as an example. He wight want to try a 12 gauge with #8 shot. That would be an eye opener as well. To many impacts in a concentrated area will cause failure as well.

I’d like to see a video of a trial done at our range. Window from armoured truck: Resisted all but a 7.62mm NATO ball; then lost to a rifled musket .58″ minie ball over 100 grains of FF black powder. Shows why momentum is sometimes more important than kinetic energy.

  • Ed November 17, 2014, 2:08 pm

    How about that .22 TCM

  • Hugh F. November 17, 2014, 1:25 pm

Makes me like my 5.7 even more.

  • Mark November 17, 2014, 12:49 pm

10mm? Some of the hotter rounds from Underwood ammo.

  • BILL November 17, 2014, 11:52 am

    How about a FMJ 223, HP 223 and Green Tip(Penetrator)223 ?

  • Joe G November 17, 2014, 11:07 am

I have an idea that a HARD .41 Rem. Mag. might do it. I’d sure like to see a try ….

  • dan November 17, 2014, 8:20 am

    How about 7.62×25 tokarev?

    • Eric November 17, 2014, 8:27 pm

I’ll second this one. Inquiring minds want to know.

      • James Hamilton November 17, 2014, 11:09 pm

I would like to see the 7.62×25 tokarev also. They say it’s suppose to go thru vest.

      • Mick November 17, 2014, 11:18 pm

I’ll 3rd on the Tokarev. Be sure to use older MILSURP ammo and modern ball ammo, both…. there are velocity and bullet composition differences.

  • Centurion_Cornelius November 17, 2014, 7:34 am

    ok, bullet-proof glass penetration with a 5.7.

BUT, who can afford this pistol and the ammo? really–I’m serious. guys are lucky to have a 9mm or .45acp these days.

    • Russ November 19, 2014, 5:21 am

Your right about the cost, but I say they”re still worth it.
I would love to own a Five-seveN with those 20 rd mags, along with its mate the P90 with 50 rd mag.
But I live in California and having 10 round magazines make many great firearms worthlessly neutered.

  • fares November 17, 2014, 4:53 am

    shoot it with MP7
    or 4.6X30

    • Harvester November 17, 2014, 9:16 pm

Probably a forgone conclusion since .454 penetrated… but how about trying 500 S&W? Perhaps a more interesting attempt would be with .475 Wildey! ;o)
