George Clooney Donates $500K to Gun Control March on Washington

Authors Current Events S.H. Blannelberry

Actor George Clooney is donating $500,000 to the “March for Our Lives” event in Washington, D.C. next month.

The rally is being organized by teens who are agitating for tougher gun laws in the wake of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

“Our family will be there on March 24 to stand side by side with this incredible generation of young people from all over the country,” said Clooney in a statement Tuesday.

“And in the name of our children Ella and Alexander, we’re donating 500,000 dollars to help pay for this groundbreaking event. Our children’s lives depend on it,” he added.

One can’t help but note the hypocrisy of anti-gun Hollywood elites.  Many of them are protected by armed security details, whereas the common man is left to defend himself, as Ted Cruz notes in the video below.

It’s easy to call for civil disarmament when it doesn’t affect you, Mr. Clooney.

Point being, if we’re going to start taking guns away, let’s start with the politicians in Washington, D.C. and the rich thespians in Tinseltown.  Once they agree to give up their armed guards, I’ll start thinking about surrendering my guns.

I won’t hold my breath.  Because the truth is personal safety is ultimately a matter of how equipped one is to handle a threat.  The wealthy know this.  It’s why they hire men with guns to protect them irrespective of a country’s gun laws.  It’s not like they say, “Oh, I’m going to France, I don’t need my bodyguards there because they have excellent gun control.”  Proof as to how effective they really believe gun control is.

My question to the teens itching to take a big bite outta the 2A is a simple one.  Why doesn’t that same principle apply to schools?  The status quo we’ve accepted is that schools should be soft targets.  Gun-free.  Teed up perfectly for a sociopath with a little know-how, patience, and determination to attack.

Why is that acceptable?  Shouldn’t we make assaults on schools a literal and definite suicide mission?  Wouldn’t that send a clear message to would-be spree killers?  Try it, and you die.

The dirty little secret here is we don’t have armed guards at schools because it costs money.  A lot of money.  Rich people don’t want to pay for your education let alone your security.  Of course, they’re more than willing to pay for theirs.  So they advocate for the lowest hanging fruit after a tragedy: gun control.  Keeps that hefty financial burden off their backs and makes it seems like they give a rip about you.  They don’t.

What I’m saying to all you concerned teens out there is that when it comes to self-defense and safety, look to the wealthy and follow their actions, not their words.  It’s a lot more instructive.

All of these so called “Movie Stars” just want to see more of their names up in lights and in the press. The majority of them

    • Bob Merritt February 23, 2018, 10:24 pm

Continuing on after a power surge which kick me off before I had finished. To continue most movie stars are agitators and just want to stir the pot up for their own gains.

Liberal moron: Teens arent responsible enough to own guns till they are 21!!
Also Liberal moron: Teens are wise beyond their years and we need to listen to them on these matters.

    • Wzrd February 27, 2018, 6:36 pm

      Excellent point.

  • Stan February 23, 2018, 9:16 pm

The FL Lottery claims it has given $32 BILLION to education. Currently, $1 BILLION a year. WTH is the money going?! Certainly NOT to the schools, as the teachers dip into their own pockets to buy notebooks & pens for the students.

“The rally is being organized by teens who are agitating for tougher gun laws..”
What BS! You actually think a group of pimply-faced teenies are arranging for hotels, plane fare, buses, posters, buttons, T-shirts, hats, food, etc., etc.? If so, I’ve got a great deal on some lake-front property for you…..on Mars! (cash only)

    • RJB February 24, 2018, 7:00 am

Exactly, the kids are all brainwashed idiots, mommy and daddy and the socialists agenda teachers are telling these kids what to do.They all need a large dose of world and American history to get an understanding of what the progressives are all about. A generation of mindless idiots thanks to the left wing agenda.

  • Jman February 23, 2018, 6:48 pm

Clooney, yet another on a long list of Hollywood’s products who feel because they earn $$$ acting their opinion matters more than others. They always feel they are smarter or better educated on whatever is the hot topic of the moment. It’s this I’m rich therefore what I say matters most mentality. Spare us all Mr. Clueless, keep your opinions to your Hollywood airheads. No one is asking for it.

    • Wzrd February 27, 2018, 6:44 pm

Yup. Also, not only hypocritical because they call for civilian disarmament while they have armed security- but because so many, Clooney included, make millions from their shootemup movies in which they ACT like badasses & glorify guns. Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with such movies. I have a problem when actors from those movies try to tell me I shouldn’t be able to own a gun. How about all these liberal movie stars calling for gun control refrain from acting in any movies that include guns. I still won’t give a shit about their opinion, but at least they’ll have some integrity.

“The rally is being organized by teens who are agitating for tougher gun laws in the wake of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida.”
BS. It is being organized by leftist Marxist groups using the students to push for their disarmament agenda. The students are just being useful idiots.

  • E.P. February 23, 2018, 1:39 pm

Whoa there … he writes a $500K check to whom? For what? Do they need some cookies & napkins? I’ll bet the parade organizer deposits that $500K directly into her personal account and laughs all the way to the bank. “Cha-Ching … suckers!”

  • Mike22-250 February 23, 2018, 12:51 pm

I will cling to my God and my guns Mr. Clooney!
I Would also Love to plant my foot up his ass so deep they will need to surgeon remove it!
My final thought is that when one of these Hollywood Creeps has a movie out let’s make a silent stand and not give them one red cent of our money!

    • Stan February 23, 2018, 9:00 pm

Gee, wonder if he’ll let them bunk at his place, like he did with the muslim refugees in Italy.

  • Joe February 23, 2018, 12:45 pm

So if he doesn’t believe we the people have the right to keep and bar arms, perhaps we should NOT watch the crappy movies he’s in. After all, he’s just a washed up Hollywood star.

  • Michael Keim February 23, 2018, 12:03 pm

Remember this is the guy who was buddies with Harvey Weinstein. He “heard rumors” about his behavior towards women but never did anything about it. Just another phoney Hollywood asshole.

  • TJ Reeder February 23, 2018, 11:35 am

I’m proud to say I donated not one cent to Loony Clooney’s stupidity because I don’t spend a cent to watch his drivel, screw him and all the flakes in Granolaville.

  • Steve February 23, 2018, 11:17 am

Just one more reason to despise George Clooney. Not that I needed one. If he’s in a good movie (rare, but it happens – Perfect Storm), the movie is good in spite of him, not because of him.

  • Mark February 23, 2018, 10:44 am

In 2005 the Government of Brazil took all guns away from their citizens. Prior to 2005 Brazils their murder rate was close to 40,000 a year in 2016 it was 61, 619 for a population of 2.8 million and this number is rising. 2016 we the USA had 17,250 murders in the entire country. If they cant keep them away from criminals in Brazil they will never keep them away from the criminals in America. They cant keep drugs out of the USA they will never stop the flow of guns going to drug dealers, gangs or criminals.

    • Mark February 23, 2018, 11:24 am

I need to add vehicles in America killed 40,200 people in 2016, and drunk drivers killed 10,497 people. Neither the vehicle or alcohol are rights they are a privilege and a substance (abuse) but neither is seen on national news every single time there is a death caused from irresponsible use or celebrities screaming to take them all away ? George we also want to how many armed body guards you have with you right now?

    • August Bender February 23, 2018, 5:19 pm

      Mark,
The population of Brazil in 2016 was about 208 million, not 2.8 million.

  • John Bumpus February 23, 2018, 10:42 am

This money could have been used in countless ways to help the needy or the sick. For example, the money could have been given for homeless shelters, or food banks for the destitute, or hospitals for sick children, or college scholarships for deserving but poor young people, and on and on and on. How poor in spirit George Clooney is. I feel sorry for him. He wants to make a difference, but he doesn’t know how.

    • Scotty Gunn February 23, 2018, 5:43 pm

$500k would have paid for ten armed security guards for a year (at least) for five to ten schools (1-2 guards each). He isn’t interested in helping children, he just wants to disarm America for his socialist friends.

  • John Doe February 23, 2018, 10:14 am

The Hollywierd crowd are the ones that have immersed our children in the world of ultra-violence, sex and drugs. They portray this as normal behavior with no consequences for your actions. The same way with the video games that the kids play for hours on end killing everything in site with no consequences. How hypercritical can you be to speak out on gun violence on one hand and fill the other hand with the millions portraying violence as no big deal. These kids can not separate Hollwierd reality from the reality they live in. I grew up in a rural area where hunting and harvesting an animal is a way of life. Shooting your first big game animal and having to process it puts you personally face to face with the consequences of your actions. You would never consider doing it to another human.

  • Brandon Fitzhugh February 23, 2018, 10:12 am

It always amazes me, the amount of hypocrisy in this country, especially from these big movie stars….they film movies where they blow people away with there grenades and automatic weapons and explosives or run over them with vehicles. Yet when asked if they think there films are to violent or contribute to delinquency of minors, they say Its all make “pretend” or just “acting” and kids are stupid to believe that stuff. When I was young, and saw Spider-Man for the first time, I was trying to swing from my roof top to a tree with my webshooter (rope) or when I watched wrestling I would always try to be the undertaker and tombstone piledrive my brother. Neither of these were good ideas, yet where did I learn them from? Hollywood? Acting? Entertainment? Don’t get me wrong, I have grown up since then and come to realize entertainment, but kids don’t know no different. I was watching the news coverage of the teens in D.C. and Florida and they were all on there cell phones laughing and carrying on, I didn’t see many that were to concerned or distraught about what had happened except the ones that survived the shooting. Unfortunately, many were there so they would not have to go school, a free pass if you will. With all this being said, the kids are quick to march in D.C. or there state capital when a tragedy has been committed, but they all knew he was suffering from mental illness long before this tragedy took place yet they did nothing. I would imagine as mean as kids are today, they bullied him, and pushed him farther away to pretend like he wasn’t even there or made him feel smaller than he already was. Its a tragedy, either way we cut it, now we have movie stars and teenagers, dictating what’s about to happen in the country, great!!!…..sarcasm

  • Ulus Farris February 23, 2018, 9:37 am

He should have taken that money and bought a bunch of metal detectors for schools. But he wasted it on a march.

  • Dilligaf February 23, 2018, 8:18 am

That right there boys and girls is money well wasted!

  • Gregory February 23, 2018, 8:16 am

I thought all of Hollywood was leaving over a year ago. TRUMP is President and they are still hanging around. WOW!! Clooney and the rest of the no balled bastards in Hollywood.

  • BR549 February 23, 2018, 8:14 am

I’ve can’t even watch a movie of his anymore without putting him into a class with pedophiles, traitors, or mass murderers. His characters are now no longer believable for me because, first and foremost, any performance is tainted with his being a COMPLETE ASSWIPE.

    • Warren wilson February 23, 2018, 11:21 am

Let’s define terms her and be specific: An “asswipe” is used toilet paper, or the feces on it. A scumbag is a used condom and a fu**wad is the ejected mix of male and female excretions after intercourse. We all know what a douchebag is. Now let’s discuss what cLooney really is… and how metaphorical we want to be……. No, let’s not. He’s an enema nozzle. All up you ass and full of impacted stool waste.

  • Chris Rossouw February 23, 2018, 6:47 am

Yeah right! Clooney promotes TV gun-violence!!

  • GRA February 23, 2018, 6:44 am

I’ve long said this sorry bastard can go to hell and rot there for all eternity right along with that raghead worthless wife of his.

  • Jim February 23, 2018, 5:44 am

This is going to sound wrong given the circumstances but I really don’t care what a bunch of teenagers want or think they want.
It really ticks me off when I hear about teenagers getting involved in politics or protesting for laws. They are still living on their parents teet and haven’t lived enough to have an informed decision on anything AND they aren’t old enough to vote.
Every teenager thinks they are sooo much smarter than their parents but we all know that’s BS.

    • Mike February 23, 2018, 2:00 pm

For you people who know your history this is how Nazi Germany started their Hitler youth movement and kept pushing for the disarming of the people. Remember the saying if you act like history hasn’t happened your likely to repeat it. Remember a buddy of Clooney is former Nazi youth leader George Soros!

  • Andrew Ling February 23, 2018, 5:39 am

This is the color of hypocrisy at its apex. Clooney has no clue, only more money to show sympathy in his ability to portraying himself a public servant, when in fact he will be so popular with the young and naive that he will make millions through his make-believe stuff guy acts in the movie he makes. I bet he has armed guards for personal protection.

  • ed toomey February 23, 2018, 5:19 am

poor Clooney I guess when your film time is over there isn’t much else but girly man play time with your money.

  • Big John February 23, 2018, 4:11 am

CUCK George Flooney, that asshole had the nerve to play three different Army Special Forces soldiers in three different movies… balls the size of church bells. That liberal communist bastard ain’t fit to shine Bowe Bergdahl’s traitorous boots!
