Giuliani: ‘Cop Who Shot Michael Brown Should be Commended’

Was the fatal police shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown justified?

Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani believes it was.

While appearing on Fox News Thursday, Giuliani opined that Ferguson, Missouri, police officer Darren Wilson was not only justified in killing Brown back in August, but ought to be “commended” for it.

“What happened in Ferguson is that a man committed a robbery, attempted to assault a police officer, and the police officer — to save his life — shot him,” Giuliani told Fox News. “The police officer did his duty. The officer should be commended for what he did.”

This month the Department of Justice announced that Wilson will not face criminal charges for using deadly force against the unarmed teen, which echoed what a grand jury concluded in November.

“Wilson’s actions do not constitute prosecutable violations” of federal civil rights law, said DOJ prosecutors.

The fact that Wilson was not indicted for shooting Brown has exacerbated an already tense relationship between police and protesters, those who believe the teen us unjustifiably shot.

Earlier this week, two police officers were shot while standing guard at a demonstration. It’s unclear what the motive for the shooting was, but it wouldn’t be all that shocking if it was later revealed to be some sort of sick retaliation.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder blasted the individual responsible for the shooting, which he called a “disgusting and cowardly attack.”

“What happened last night was a pure ambush,” Holder said Wednesday. “This was not someone trying to bring healing to Ferguson. This was a damn punk, a punk, who was trying to sow discord.”

The shooter is believed to be still on the loose.

in as much as the rioting was perpetrated by George Soros who financed the transportation and living expenses of the losers from all over the country this America hating multi-billionaire, Obama loving rat who is responsible for 90% of the civil unrest in our country why has he not been charged with him crimes here?
Michael brown got exactly what he deserved. after his strong armed robbery and walking down the middle of the street which would draw in any police officer, he committed several felonies regarding his response to the officer assault, trying to steal his gun he probably would have murdered that officer with his bare hands. this unarmed teen was in excess of 6 feet tall and weighed in at 290 lbs. was fully capable of killing that officer. as it was having hit the officer at least twice and broke all of the bones around one of his eyes the officer had not choice and the legal right to shoot that no good bum. what good would it have done to have a man like that walking the streets? the officer performed his duties to perfection. Obama said these things happen every day, referring to blacks being shot by police officers, he doesn’t happen to mention all the hundreds of terrible crimes against society that his black brothers commit against on a daily basis, why do you suppose he didn’t mention that?

When I read the comments that some of you posted, I don’t have to wonder why there is still this great divide between liberals, persons of color who own and carry weapons and the greater gun community. This black man is college educated, never been arrested, in jail or prison. You will see my blackness long before you see my weapon or me reaching into my pocket to reach for my NRA card if I had one which probably would get me shot and killed. The reason, I feared or I thought that my life was in danger. I really feel sorry for Mr. Giuliani because there is nothing worse than a fool other than an old fool. In his mind it is OK to play to your voting base stating this the president does love his country and then wanting to pin a metal on someone who took a life. Shame on you because not to long ago there were people saying the same thing about people of your ethnic back ground. I suggest that you take a look at the Italian Americans on PBS and see what was said. Shame on you people posting those racist rants. There was another report that came out of Ferguson, MO which no one wants to talk about. This report addresses the institutionalized racism and targeting of Ferguson, MO black citizens. When I was in school a questions was posed. That question was. How do you cripple a man and then laugh at the we he walks? I ask the same question of this nation and to you who posted comments. How does this nation and communities all across this country setup situations and target people and then get upset when they say that they have had enough? I check into the gun related sites for training and weapons information. I have just about had enough form the peanut gallery section.

    • Damon March 16, 2015, 9:42 pm

Good post. One thing to consider, however, related to the report of institutionalized racism in the Ferguson PD – the county in question is almost 70% African-American. How is it, then, that the large minority of elected officials are NOT African-American?

If there are problems, especially historic problems with government, the mechanism for change already exists. It’s called representative democracy. However, if the constituency is apathetic, or enjoys going to the riot more than going to the polls, well, you get the government you deserve, don’t you?

You don’t know who’s posting here or what their agenda is.
So you can’t make judgements about anyone’s real position.
My guess is, since S.H. BLANNELBERRY put this out on the forum,
it’s there so people fight and incriminate themselves, by reacting to what liberal plants and rebel rousers say.
These liberal assholes come here all the time, and think they have you fooled into believing they are who they say they are.
Fact is, you have no idea what the truth is, so use your common sense when viewing these posts.
And be sure to note who the guy is that puts these up time and time again—-it’s S.H. BLANNELBERRY

  • Kirk Augustin March 16, 2015, 2:36 pm

That is silly. You simply never shoot an unarmed person, no matter what. If you do, it is deliberate murder. And Wilson did not just shoot once or twice, but empties the whole 13 round magazine. There was not even enough left to recognize.

    • petru sova March 16, 2015, 3:21 pm

Wow! There really is a non-racist and intelligent human on this web site. I never would have believed it until I read your post, as it really hit the nail on the head squarely. Kudos!

    • Russ March 17, 2015, 4:28 pm

      How dumb are you?
Here’s a statistic for you “don’t shoot an unarmed man” morons.
Hands and feet kill twice as many people in America than all firearms combined.

    • 2alife March 23, 2015, 7:28 am

Really? Shooting an unarmed attacker is never justified? I sure hope your mother or daughter or wife is never attacked by a 290lb man. Oh that’s right he couldn’t kill or rape them if they ask him nicely to stop. I sure wish we could all live in your make believe utopia. One punch can kill a person especially from someone who is bigger and stronger. “God created man, Sam Colt made them equal”

  • petru sova March 16, 2015, 12:03 pm

Looking past all the white racist comments. The cop could have easily used a Taser or mace or as a last resort simply shot him in the foot at that range or he could have used his head and waited for back up. While White Racists cheer every time a minority such as a Black, Hispanic or American Muslim is shot and killed they go berserk when a White person is shot. We have not progressed much since the days of Selma Alabama as the ugly head of Nazism and Racism is just waiting to climb out of the sewer and build new gas chambers for everyone who is not White, Anglo-Saxon and Protestant.

Holder is seeking new Governmental regulations that will enable the Federal boys to go after cities and municipalities that refuse to indict cops so the case can go to trial and a jury can decide if a crime was committed or not. Local prosecutors are always in bed politically and often are even blood related to people who work in police departments making it just about impossible to indict a cop in any shooting even with vital evidence unless it is so far over the top that even a moron could see the nature of the crime such as the Rodney King beating by a gang of sadist and racist cops who had for years been getting away with beatings and murders.

These recommendations are coming from top professional lawyers that say without these changes we will continue to live in a country that is no different that the black shirted Nazi storm troopers that Hitler employed in his ultra conservative utopia who murdered anyone who got in there way. Just this week Republican Storm Trooper Lindsay Graham recommended taking over Congress at bayonet point with black shirted storm troopers. Are gas chambers next on his list?

That’s a mouthful of exaggeration on both sides of the issue. A turbo charged air compressor would struggle to keep pace with your inflammatory statements.

      • petru sova March 16, 2015, 3:17 pm

        The truth is often inflammatory.

        • Russ March 22, 2015, 3:52 pm

Looks like you read some real narrow minded propaganda, disguised as free thinking information.
          Your being fed bullshit.
It’s no wonder you comments are often so twisted and anti – American.
You don’t even know what the truth is.
If those are your sources, you’ve never heard it.
I have my doubts that your even from this country.

    • shootbrownelk March 16, 2015, 1:05 pm

TOP Professional Lawyers?? Are you kidding me? Eric Holder is THE TOP PROFESSIONAL LAWYER and TOP COP, and everyone knows what a lying sack of crap he is. As of a few days ago the Ferguson PD arrested a 20 yr. old BLACK suspect.
If he’s found guilty who wants to bet that he’s sentenced to community service and 2 weeks probation, so he can continue to turn his life around? If O’Bummer had a son…..he’d be a worthless pile of doggie doo-doo just like his African daddy.

      • petru sova March 16, 2015, 3:26 pm

The sad reality is that people like you do not even realize how your racist statements look to normal and or well educated people who inhabit the saner side of life. Joseph Goebbels is not dead he lives on in the hearts of racists like yourself.

      • Leadsender March 16, 2015, 3:41 pm

I will take that bet and you will loose. The justice system has not problem with putting people in jail or prison. As you wrote it BLACK suspect.

    • Damon March 16, 2015, 9:30 pm

Seriously? We go “beserk” when “a White person is shot”?

That must be why all those suburban blue-collar working-class neighborhoods experience so many riots, lawlessness, assault on police and bystanders, and incidences of looting, right?

While I appreciate your erudition and grasp of the written word, a well-polished turd is not a candy bar – it’s still a turd.

    • Joe March 17, 2015, 1:58 am

Really? The cop could have done this or that or shoot him in the leg? You just showed how much knowledge you have of a real shooting scenario with a 290 pounds maybe drugged person. The adrenaline and the requirements to shoot a moving target after he punched you in the face with a 290 pounds body will make all that you said completely unreal and irrelevant. Now to get your facts straigh , every single day in this country a black shots, robs or rape a white person and a black person also. The highest rate rate of violent crime is of black on black ,and when a black person shots a white one it rarely gets in the news because it is the “norm”, and the leftard controlled media dont want the poor black thugs to be “discriminated”. Now , I am still waiting for the media to start showing cases like the baby in 2013 that was shot to the HEAD by a black thug teen not unlike Treyvor Martin ,and also shot her mother. No Holder, Obama or Sharpton ever talked about this incident and the 2 black thugs related, but you can google it and will find it in some obscure corner of the internet, not to be too showed up by the media. If you want equality lets start by the more than 60 % violent crime that is done by less than 12 % of the population(blacks). Reality is reality ,politically correct or not.

  • grody March 16, 2015, 10:58 am

And this is called “The” “United” States?

  • Brent March 16, 2015, 9:53 am

The officer shot a criminal that was attacking him. He should be the one suing the family and city. Why wasn’t the verdict of the trial read off in the morning in the daylight hours instead of at night in the dark? Why didn’t our president tell the crowd to stand down?…

  • Michael T March 16, 2015, 8:14 am

Violence begets violence and there is never an excuse for shooting an unarmed man… unless he pisses me off.

    • RetNavet March 16, 2015, 9:11 am

Unless your girth, weight and height are similar, its quite a stretch to call a 6’4″,290lb silverback-knuckldragger “unarmed”
Cops should be given a bonus check every time they eliminate one of these velcro-headed thuggish beast’s.

      • Z March 16, 2015, 1:09 pm

Seriously? If you want to raise the issue of disparity in physical size and the potential to be beaten to death, can you not do it without the inflammatory and derogatory, race based language?

        • Leadsender March 16, 2015, 4:05 pm

I agree with you. In addition, I believe that this officer was just about the same size and stature as Michael Brown.

      • Z March 16, 2015, 1:28 pm

I just want to say thank you to guns america staff members for promoting factual and sensible discussion of the topic while filtering out inflammatory and blatantly racist comments. Feel free to omit this comment as well.

  • DRAINO March 14, 2015, 6:48 am

I believe that may be the fist thing that Holder has said that he has gotten correct since taking his position at the DOJ. As far as Giuliani and his comments, I fully agree…..but I don’t know that I personally would have said it….at this time. Some times hitting peoples over the head with the truth is not the best approach. Don’t get me wrong… is what it is….the truth will always be the truth and it will always be a painful thing sometimes…..that doesn’t change it from being the truth. And I fully believe that a lot of folks out there need a big fat healthy dose of truth! but sometimes…discretion can be a wise thing. Just my thoughts.

    • Lloyd March 16, 2015, 8:11 am

Know the truth and the truth will set you free, Very good comment Sir I firmly agree with you.

    Go get ’em, Mr. Mayor!

    • Winston March 16, 2015, 2:11 pm

Giuliani- the guy who married his cousin- needs to apply for a job in Kiev where anyone who disagrees with the Right Sektor suddenly commits suicide. He should go where he’d be in good company and no Bill of Rights.

      • Russ March 19, 2015, 2:02 am

Ya, Giuliani, who pulled Americans together along with Bush, and briefly got Americans to be more Patriotic.
A guy who isn’t a PC pussy, and uses straight talk to speak his mind while using his freedom of speech.
        He’s a great guy.
        Better than most.
His good deeds outweigh any of his mistakes.

        • DoctorWho August 10, 2015, 6:59 am

I like Giuliani, I have met him in person and had the opportunity to speak with him on several occasions, he is a really kool dude………
