GunsAmerica Presents AR Week: Buy Em Before They Ban Em!

Uncategorized

Dear GunsAmerica Readers and Fellow Americans,
With so many elected officials both at the Federal and State levels screaming for age increases to purchase guns and ammo, bump stock bans, and of course the serious talks about reinstating the Assault Weapons Ban, we felt it was appropriate to publish an entire week of nothing but AR-15 reviews. Clay Martin, GunsAmerica’s own Special Forces gun guru, kicks the week off with the freedom rant found below and follows it up with six brief reviews on AR-15’s that you could be proud to own if another assault weapons ban were passed. While you’re out shopping for guns and ammo, don’t forget to join the NRA and make some phone calls and emails to both your State and Federal elected officials telling them that you expect them to support the Second Amendment.

Safe under Trump? Donald “take their guns first, due process later” Trump? We wouldn’t have to worry about the Left if the Right weren’t giving in. People need to stop being blind to Trump’s true character – he has none. Instead of making enemies of the Left, we ought to be making common cause with them, and teaching them that gun rights are civil rights, and therefore rightly a liberal cause.

The Second Amendment is not a privilege, it is a right. This means it exists independent of and previous to government. The right of people to defend themselves is in the same sphere as the right of people to speak freely. It cannot be legislated away. Any attempt to do so is illegal and must be ignored. The exercise of a constitutional right cannot be made into a crime.

With 100 million gun owners or 1/3 the US population owning 450 million guns I am more optimistic than any posters here. There are 15 million ARs and their variants out there. The majority of the police and military are on our side. NJ and California have been deep blue gun free zones forever and they still can’t take our guns away. Look at all the turn in your assault weapons bills in Cali and Connecticut. The gun owners ignored them and the enforcement went away. Vigilance should be maintained of course.

I am a Vet and I served to protect and defend Our Constitution,Period! We The People have been apathetic too long and it is and was not entirely our fault. We have been duped for over 50 years in the lie that regulating our Constitution instead of of defending it was the way to a more safe and stable society! It might have worked except for the politicians seeing a way to absolute control and voting for themselves more power year by year thinking in the end they will control everything and everyone to play god! Not going to happen as long as real defenders of freedom exist and those who believe that oath to defend and protect Our /Constitution are alive! The new citizens of these Untied states are also sworn to defend and protect the Constitution, others natural born are duty bound by being citizens of this last vestige of freedom!
Please one and all, Read The Declaration of Independence and let it sink in! We The People must regain what we have let slip through our fingers, or else this United States of American will be no more!

If you are assaulted, you DEFEND yourself with your DEFENSE rifle.

  • Area 52 March 12, 2018, 6:43 pm

Buying more guns isn’t going to do anything. What next; buying more bump stocks? What I believe we need to do is to communicate with our members of congress and tell them that any gun control bills are unacceptable. The GOP members need to be told that if they want to keep control congress they better drop the gun control and get back to national reciprocity carry and the removal of sound suppressors from the NFA.

Encouraging people to buy more guns due to gun legislation might spark panic buying. Sure panic buying creates a surge and gun makers and gun shops make excellent profits. However, it creates artificial inflation for guns and ammo and it also causes shortages. Then you have the people that buy usually ammo, wait for the shortage, then try and sell it on gun broker for an inflated price. The person into into shooting as a hobby or pastime is the one that suffers with high prices and the lack of products. In fact when shortages of guns and ammo occur, it’s a de facto ban on those products.

My point is fight the proposed legislation politically, and don’t fan the flames to start a panic buy.

    • gandolf March 13, 2018, 9:00 am

Since the majority of the members of the NJ Congress are antigun and our two US Senators are antigun we are stuck here. Bump stocks are banned in NJ.

  • Boss March 12, 2018, 3:51 pm

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
The Framers of the constitution intended individual citizens own and know how to use the very weapons the military used.
The Left (loony luddite liberals) are fond of saying Framers never envisioned the weapons technology we have in this day and age. What the Framers actually never envisioned was the individual citizen would not have the same arms the military had as a source for “A well regulated Militia”.
Thus, the AR15 IS the Second Amendment RIFLE! It IS the Patriot’s Rifle! Every AR15 should have 2A inscribed on it in big bold letters. When the military switches to a new main infantry weapon, then IT will be the new the Second Amendment RIFLE! If you love your country go now, buy an AR15! NOW is the time to fight for your Country and Constitution and all you need do is own a rifle, It is a symbol of your faith in freedom.
The gun of the day in 1775 was a smooth bore musket. Had todays Left been around then they would probably have been advocating the rifled muzzle-loader be banned as being too dangerous!
Now the Left wants to raise the age limit to 21 to buy and own rifles, 18 to 21 the very age the Militia and the military need as a resource as stated in the Second Amendment.
The two main intentions of the Second Amendment, the Left are intent on restricting thus nullifying the Constitution one amendment at a time.
The Left also wants to abolish ICE! Do you want to live in their world? Where you have no means to protect yourself amid millions of foreigners invading your country, your town, your home? A place where illegal aliens would vote and determine your laws, like California? A place where homeless towns would spring up in parks and surrounding cities, like California? A place where Christians are second class people?
Now is the time to vote, to rid us of RINOS and Democrats. It starts now in the midterm elections.

    • Mark Are March 13, 2018, 10:09 am

Most every thing you state is true. HOWEVER, the AR 15 is NOT America’s rifle. The M4 CARBINE is which is a select fire 3 round burst weapon. THAT is what we ALL should be able to own and use according to the SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED statement as well as the fact of what you are saying about the militia having the SAME equipment as the military. I believe if you can afford an APACHE helicopter you should be able to own one as long as you don’t AGRESS against anyone, who should give a crap? The problem lies in this collectivist communistic mentality that is being pounded into the minds of our younger generation. They have no common sense and reason and logic are not stressed in the government school indoctrination centers.

  • KMacK March 12, 2018, 3:50 pm

All they’d have to do is what was done with my AK – make it a pump rifle. While the AK was a piston rifle, the M-15 can be converted easily to pump action and thus get around the idiotic laws coming down. For some reason, legislators labor under the misapprehension that they have to DO something immediately when common sense says, “Wait till the dust dies down and then see what really needs to be done”. Oh well, “Act in haste, repent at leisure” seems to be the political mantra of the day. I might even get me a pump-action M-15… it’d probably be more reliable than the one I carried in Vietnam.

  • Nick March 12, 2018, 2:47 pm

Buy them before they ban them?
How about we work, using the existing law to stop that? The problem with the pretend pro-2nd community is that it knows little to nothing about what is “necessary *** to the security of a free State”.
How sad that I even have to see your title. The Founders gave us a DUTY to uphold. They reinforced the DUTY by specifically attaching a right. Now we pathetically write articles that ignore the basic principles of this nation; Popular Sovereignty with the authority “to execute the Laws of the Union”.

    • Luke March 12, 2018, 4:15 pm

      Nick:
Do you actually think that due process is the answer to upholding the Constitution? Really? Even after those who have given oath to uphold it in just about every office since John Kennedy have not honored that oath? C’mon. The writing’s been on the wall since Johnson. “Buy ’em before they ban ’em” is only one example of the culmination of at least two generations of anti-gun culture in the United States. It shouldn’t surprise anyone given the lack of commitment among pussified senators & representatives who do not listen to anyone but their financial advisers.

The ‘principles of this nation’ were sold long ago to the highest bidder with his eye on the most lucrative legacy. If anyone thinks otherwise, look at the history of 2nd Amendment infringement in the United States since Lyndon B. Johnson. (No other amendment has been so treated). There is nothing (legislatively) gun owners could have done that would’ve made a difference: the NRA was our only voice. . .and IT just slowed things down a bit. Even now, there is nothing to be done while we inch closer and closer to anarchy. . . Donald Trump spared us for a while but even he can’t or won’t stop the infringement. Once 2A is gone, re-definition of the rest will follow: our society will accelerate more easily into a combination of “Animal Farm”,”1984″ and “Fahrenheit 451” where the military will help ‘keep the peace’. In 20 years or less, the United States will be unrecognizable.
      Hope I’m wrong.

      • Boss March 12, 2018, 7:54 pm

The United States is already unrecognizable. The news media moved from the left to the far left starting in the 60s. The school teachers started to indoctrinate the children. Hollywood started making anti war movies and TV shows. I remember my 6th grade teacher telling the class, “Liberals, Democrats are forward looking. and open minded. Conservatives traditional, backwards looking and closed minded.”. I wish I could go back in time and tell the class just where the hell that led us! I had to got to Viet Nam to see reality before I found out I wasn’t a lib, ignorant youth.
Now after 60 years liberal indoctrination in schools; non functional adult age children in collages, elementary school administrators believing they can decide a child can have a sex change because they’ve convinced that their actual sex is different than what they were born with. That words can hurt you.
When are we going to take our schools back!
“During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.” – George Orwell

        • Luke March 13, 2018, 7:41 pm

“I had to got to Viet Nam to see reality before I found out I wasn’t a lib, ignorant youth.”

  • JoshO March 12, 2018, 12:21 pm

Is there a reason my comments are always moderated out of existence? No profanity. Nothing offensive. WTF is the deal, GA?

  • Alton Foster March 12, 2018, 12:06 pm

Too Bad..This used to be such a nice country..The liberals have made the conservatives crazy with their change the world to their fractured, bizarre “normalcy”..Not only do they not want guns, heterosexuality and history, they won’t tolerate anyone else who does..I am a vet and fought for this country…..I took my flag down yesterday..

    • Luke March 12, 2018, 3:15 pm

Alton – Put it back up. And then, load whatever guns you have and keep them within arm’s reach.

      • SteveinSedona March 12, 2018, 4:20 pm

Right – don’t blame the flag for what the Left is doing to our country. Put it back up to honor it and those who sacrificed for it.
As Johnny Cash said: “We’re mighty proud of that ragged old flag.”

      • Elcapitan January 18, 2021, 12:07 pm

I fly my flag at half mast, am 94 yrs old, a WW2 vet and own guns with adequate ammo to use them. I am church going ,have a great wife, and a quiver full of wonderful great grand children. Teach them to love the Lord Jesus Christ, to love their families, and to fish and hunt. With that, there is some hope of redemption in a sick Biden riden world with the majority thinking good is bad, and bad is good. Stand firm people and you will be led through the maze to better times.

    • Green tip March 13, 2018, 10:34 am

Alton, I/WE ALL APPRECIATE your service. The FLAG DESERVES BETTER though. The ‘Flag’ represents way more than we can EVER begin to pay back. It certainly deserves the respect TRUE Patriots can muster & we cannot give up on OUR country. It’s the PEOPLE Alton that have sold her out & remember YOU HAVE a lot of people who feel the same way, but to ‘give up’, that just CAN’T HAPPEN!

  • ras March 12, 2018, 11:50 am

So it seems that the gun community has resolved itself to the fact that the days of having a 2nd Amendment right is over. That is disturbing. Instead of talking about how we are losing our rights at one end and radical talk of “from my cold dead hands” at the other end. We should be rallying as one voice. Stop bashing the NRA and others who have done far more good for our gun rights than the deceitful politicians who now are showing their true colors and working with the liberal left gun grabbers, for their own political gains.
It’s obvious that the majority of gun owners are mad, disturbed and fed up with the continuing attacks on the 2nd amendment. But as I have been saying for quite a while, it does no good to complain and/or argue amongst ourselves. Cute comments like “we don’t need cars that go over X MPH, doesn’t do anything to stop the liberal Democrat, and Rhino gun grabbers from advancing their anti-2nd Amendment agenda. Facts won’t deter them from their final goal of total ban and confiscation of our firearms. They are focused, committed, passionate, and stand together as one voice. They have the media, academia, and Hollywood as their propaganda platforms. Billionaires like Bloomberg fund them with tens of millions of dollars. All that in striking contrast to pro-gun citizenry. But the biggest danger of all don’t come from the current Democrats in congress. Sure they will put out as many anti-gun bills as they can, but what is disturbing and may very well be the end of gun ownership and the 2nd Amendment as we know it, are the Republicans we sent to Washington to protect our rights. They have the House, Senate, and a President in the Whitehouse that ran on protecting the 2nd Amendment, yet it seems they forgot their pledges, and either roll over to the Democrats, or are ready to introduce anti gun bills of their own. Even the conservative majority of the Supreme Court refuse to hear any cases that address the unconstitutional gun laws already in place in states like California, Connecticut , New York , and others. This may not be something gun owners want to hear, but you can be sure, the days of owing firearms as we now it are in very serious jeopardy. More than ever, instead of infighting, and complain amongst ourselves, we must fight for our rights, and freedoms as never before. At the very least, we must make it clear to Rep Ryan and Senator McConnell that they must not allow any unconstitutional gun bills to ever make it to the floor of congress. Write to your own states representatives, even if you know they are anti-gun supporters, and what is really missing is what the gun grabbing movement has that gun owners don’t do or do well, is to organize at the local and state grass roots level. Educate people as to the dangers of giving up their rights and freedoms to an out of control government. Then, maybe we have a chance of turning this around in our favor.

    • Tom March 12, 2018, 1:41 pm

The republicans sold us out. The NRA sold us out by backing anti gun legislation, making back door deals with rebuplican politicians and now it appears at least to me that they are more intersted in helping the gun industry whip up another panic buying frenzy. The GOA broke ranks with the NRA and fought against reciprocal carry because of the fix nics add on and that pretty much sunk reciprocal carry and ended up killing the hearing protection act as well. The gun industry is all for another round of panic buying. I just don’t see how continuing to contact or support politicians who repeatedly sell us out is going to help. Like wise supporting the NRA or the GOA seems just as useless.

    • SteveinSedona March 12, 2018, 4:17 pm

ras – you make a whole lot of sense; more so than all the hysteria I’ve heard lately (from both sides). I just called my Representative, Tom O’Halleran, to inform him how serious I feel this issue is. Believe it or not, I got through to a real person, a very nice lady. No menus, no voicemail – I’m impressed.
As you said, gun owners need to organize. What would you suggest? I send e-mails to my legislators, I contribute to GOA and Arizona Citizen’s Defense league, and I’m a life member of AZCDL. But I’m open to suggestions as to what I can do.

  • JoshO March 12, 2018, 11:48 am

Bury guns? If it’s time to bury guns, it’s already time to dig them up.

  • Dwayne March 12, 2018, 11:37 am

I’m progressive on issues like single payer healthcare and a decent minimum wage but I do like my guns, that includes my ARs. The HRC control freaks stole a primary election and now want to steal our ARs. What is a left Libertarian to do? I say anyone who wants to address some serious issues in our nation AND respects gun rights will steal the show.

  • KENNETH WETZEL March 12, 2018, 11:11 am

It is time we ban these Nazi liberal/democrat assholes. They are degrading our country. I think in a way, they drive these individuals to they murderous paths. Funny, their is not Black people or Hispanics killed only white people. I guess they are to busy killing outright, or not paid enough from the Democrats. We are Americans, plain and simple.

    • Zupglick March 12, 2018, 11:49 am

Psychologically challenged Nazi liberal/democrat assholes. Won’t mention intelligence, after all ignorance is curable. Stupidity goes clear to the bone.

    • JPN March 12, 2018, 1:31 pm

I am grateful, as is any right-thinking American, for Clay’s service to our nation.

But this comment cracks me up.

It isn’t liberal/democrat assholes who are Nazis here in America today. It wasn’t liberal/democrat assholes marching in a southern American city with swastika armbands, chanting “Jews will not replace us.
Those were today’s modern American “conservatives” and Republican voters and Donald Trump supporters doing that. Heck, Donald Trump even called them “very fine people.”
Just remember, when you start decrying how Nazis are “degrading our country” that you’re talking about those “conservative” GOP voters.
      Mkay?

      • Rick March 12, 2018, 4:52 pm

Nice bullshit try JPN. If you actually READ the comment, what they are referring to is the hypocrisy of the progressive liberal. They decry and claim they are against Nazi/Socialists yet they adopt the same techniques that the Nazi’s used to force compliance with any that don’t agree with them. On top of that, they deflect attention from themselves by pointing to conservatives and labeling them “racist”, “Nazi” or “intolerant”. It’s just ridiculous how you and your ilk aren’t fooling anyone anymore. We’ve got your number and refuse to accept you and your un-American agenda….tearing down this great nation.

      • Don Tros March 12, 2018, 11:25 pm

JPN: Apparently you didn’t get the memo? The Democrats paid these people to dress up and start crap. The only thing worse than the Republican party is the Democratic party. To not have seen that this last national election is to be deaf, dumb and blind or just deceived by the mass media.

  • JD March 12, 2018, 11:06 am

Stack the ammo deep. Keep the guns ready. Not one more inch. If this newest crap law in Florida is not struck down or if they try a door to door confiscating scheme its time to remind government they only govern by the will of the people. If we the people say no we mean no and will kill those who try to push their unconstitutional new world order crap on us.

    • Luke March 12, 2018, 3:26 pm

THIS is gonna’ be interesting. Either every gun owner and law enforcement officer in Florida is going to roll over and allow themselves to be trampled by air-headed politicians OR, the gun owners are going to respond violently and secretly whenever they can. The question are, will they actually do it and will law enforcement be effective?

  • Luke March 12, 2018, 9:53 am

Should NEVER have lowered the voting age. Should NEVER have abolished the draft. Reason the injustices as you must but those two decisions were the biggest US mistakes of the 20th century.

      Spot on.

      • Goose March 12, 2018, 12:09 pm

    • kerry purcell March 12, 2018, 2:48 pm

how would that change the anti gun crowd ?

      • Luke March 12, 2018, 6:41 pm

        Kerry:
There are others who could answer you much better than I. But, my short answer is this: the anti-gun lobby has been teaching generations that the weapon is the enemy but military teaches responsibility and the weapon is a friend and a tool. But, many will not get that perspective as a self-serving 18-year-old unless forced to see it and experience it first hand. Consequently, many 18-year-old kids don’t learn to serve & respect and aren’t forced to do anything major against their will or comfort zone.

I submit that many, if not most, 18-year-old kids don’t have enough life-experience to vote responsibly. Especially girls. Sexist? Damn right it’s sexist. American females will remain a huge voting block. But, most American girls have traditionally never had to care about self-defense much less defending their country or answering a call to serve. This is serious stuff for the 2A. As a voting group, women have never had to be responsible for pulling the trigger. They gave birth to a generation of men who did that for them, learned to hate the killing and then, eventually voted against anything to do with guns and war. Reinstating most any form of conscription with a common boot camp would eliminate most of the wasteful and useless sexist and feminist bullshit in a hurry. Both genders would benefit from conscription at 18 to create a more mature cohort of voters at 21 capable of making better decisions having been forced to pull the trigger of a gun. Israel is an example of how things could be in America. . . .and probably will be after a few more terrorist attacks. Women there don’t argue about gun rights.

How much life experience did you have at 18 that would have prepared you for life’s major decisions say, after 21 or 22? Consider your own life and the lives of those you knew best at the time. Did you and your friends think beyond having a good time; enjoying each other’s company; avoiding major responsibility and enjoying the things that appealed to your every desire? No harm in being honest. Some folks didn’t have the luxuries I had. And because of the draft, I met many who did not. . . .and benefited immensely by the privilege.

We were all young and the only thing that mattered was our comfort zone in those teenage years. I, for one, wanted to stay there. But, forced service (the ‘draft’) interrupted life in that comfort zone and introduced real-world perspective (some of it ugly), discipline (ALL of it ugly) and opportunities that would otherwise have been unknown or unrealized. Being drafted or having a low draft number gave many of us experience that shaped the rest of our lives and helped us make more informed decisions even if we didn’t read or write well. And, I can almost guarantee that most of us voted differently in our twenty’s than we ever would have in our teens….hands down!

There’s a lot of controversy about this. “I’m 18; can’t vote but I can be trained to kill; I can be drafted at 18 but can’t vote; it’s unfair; it’s not democratic; it’s communism; it’s infringement on my rights; etc.” And, given some of the historical aberrations in the selective service process, I can sympathize with a couple of those statements, i.e. arguably, some kids of wealthy congressmen got preferential treatment. And, many still believe that the Vietnamese people weren’t worth fighting for. I submit that, what seems unfair in any judgement as a teenager is scrutinized a LOT more heavily in the twenties. . .or should be.

Abolishing the draft and going to an all-volunteer military wasn’t all bad given new technology at every turn in defensive and offensive weaponry, but not everybody’s going to be a fire control tech with her right hand on a joy stick and her left-hand fingers on red buttons. And, there are a lot of guys & gals who should not be in the military. But, abolishing the draft completely was altogether foolish. There is NO reason, (ZERO, not one), that a healthy 18-year-old kid should not know what it is to serve his/her country in some disciplined capacity: two to three months of universal boot camp after which kids can be tested for aptitude and provided a wish list of which technical field to pursue for two years or more. Job-ready out of government service. Mandatory; for every US citizen who is alive and healthy at 18 years old. Would I have thought this way at 18? No way. Absolutely not.

In every boot camp there is a form of fire arms training. EVERYONE gets their hands on a gun. You will learn to handle a weapon; you will learn to fire that weapon. In the Marines and Army that weapon becomes your best friend. EVERYONE learns that the weapon itself doesn’t kill anything without pulling the trigger. There is no argument about that in the military. And THAT is all the difference in the world among people who serve and the many who don’t but would rather remain bound in a 50+year-old body attached to an undisciplined, unrealistic 18-year-old mind. In many ways, their only growth has been at the hands of liberal influence with money. And, there’s the problem I think, with politicians and voters since 1972. Look at what’s happened to 2A since 1973.

        • D.B. March 15, 2018, 11:19 pm

Luke, you are right on. As an 18 yr old I was an idiot. One difference was I knew how to work and hunt. Today’s 18 yr olds can’t tie their frickin shoes. I work in the construction trade and the youngsters they hire now can’t do anything beyond fingerfock their phones. The lack of being able to not doing anything mechanical is only topped by their ignorance of the constitution and any knowledge of the origins of the country they live in. It is sad to say that the country will collapse as they grow older and our generation dies off. Public education is one of the main causes of their lack of knowledge. As far as the article goes I agree with Clay (Thank you for your service, sir) the more arms in the hands of the public the more difficult it will be to round them all up. As far as shortages go, if you haven’t stocked up by now you are as freaking stupid as the millenials. As Bush 43 (being the sell out he was) after 9 11 the best thing you can do is go shopping. Something for the anti Trump comments above, do you focking idiots think we’d be better off if Trump had lost? What would be your thoughts if that rotten a$$ b itch had won? Trump may not be great, but my god, have you thought about the alternative….. just the thoughts of another deplorable

(Yawnnn) Here we go again, more panicky paranoid ‘gunnies’ falling for the ‘OMG! A BAN!’ line.
I was in the business back in the Clinton Era panic, and nothing has changed.
Just shows that profiteers come in all forms and on all sides.
    Silly people.

    • JT March 12, 2018, 10:17 am

Except during the Clinton era there WAS a ban. It lasted for 10 years.

      • JoshO March 12, 2018, 11:47 am

Exactly. What is this guy trying to say?

      • basinman March 12, 2018, 12:36 pm

That is era when the cost of my FFL went from $30 for 3 years to $300 for 3 years. And they wanted pictures and finger prints for the first time as well.

    • Luke March 12, 2018, 6:43 pm

Hey Al: Go back to sleep. Nothing to see here. You’re ok as far as you know.

The oligarch’s have betrayed their oath to the American public, it does not matter if they are Republican or Democrat, or any other party. They took an oath to protect the Constitution of the United States of America, not a reinterpretation of. The old worn out cry, is that these documents were written when the technology of firearms was the musket, this is a moot point and has no basis or foundation.
Our Four fathers who constructed these documents had more intelligence in the tip of their little fingers than the entirety of the Republican/Democratic parties combined.
Once the unraveling begins, it is hard to stop. 1.) Bump Stocks, etc., etc. ……………. Until there are no components to construct firearms of any sort not even a musket. Everyone involved in these knee jerk responses should be voted out in the next election cycle. The oligarch’s have LIED again and do not deserve the positions that they have been elected to.
Any teacher willing to participate in firearms training should exercise their Second Amendment Rights, and should not be impeded by these self-indulgent politicians, that are protecting no one with their poor decision’s.

I refer you to Thomas Jefferson. “Every thirty years, every country needs a bloody revolution.”

    • Jorge Garcia March 12, 2018, 11:54 am

You are so right, but you forgot to mention in your post why our founding fathers were smarter in the tip of their fingers than their pussy counterparts today, simply put! our founding fathers had to use those little fingers to defend themselves and set a rightious path for all of those who followed. They also had to use those little fingers to provide for their families and keep the warm and fed, yes my fellow DEMs and pussys, there was no welfare or free nothing, either you worked or you starved, your neighbors helped when injured or sick, or you became a crimminal and got shot down by those who defended what they worked for. And that friends is the reality of what is going on and the eventual downfall of this great nation. the entitled!!!

  • Bob March 12, 2018, 9:34 am

Hey Clay, you know better than anyone, if people think it’s time to BURY GUNS, that’s EXACTLY the TIME we want to HAVE them… Just Saying my Friend!
Also, you we’re in 3rd SFGA right? Well Clay, it’s going to be up to folks like you with that type Skill Set to build up our Local Forces to be an Effective Fighting Force against Tyranny! I was with D27sfga at Bragg before they moved to Hulbert AF in Florida, though I was NOT a Tabber. However, I did deploy as a ‘B’ Team Member many times which as you know is a Modified ‘A’ Team with support personal to control team in field. That said brother, guys like you have the responsibility and have the actual ability to train at least a battalion size fighting force! Sadly, this time it will be your fellow Americans that you train for combat, but look at it this way, at least we’ll speak the same language and belief in the same cause! To anyone who doesn’t have or can’t afford an AR or AK, don’t sweat it too much okay. A Bolt Gun can take you a long way, literally & figuratively, and sadly you’ll be able to pick one up off the ground when push comes to shove.
Also, trying to work within a Corrupted Political System such as ours is a FOOLS ERRAND as the last 50 years has shown that regardless of Party they keep taking away our Rights! Can anyone here imagine how the Patriot Community would have reacted had Obama said what Trump did: “Take the Guns First and Due Process Second” All hell would have broken loose, right? As Americans we need to face the FACT that we Live in a SOFT Police State that is hiding just under the Illusion of being Free.
    In Liberty, Bob

    • Inidaho March 12, 2018, 11:30 am

Bob and Clay, we cannot thank you enough for your military service, and all the people in our country. Many good comments on this website from veterans, we appreciate!

  • Jim Miller March 12, 2018, 9:15 am

I do not like them tinkering (infringing) with existing laws, but realistically, very little is being changed with the age thing. When 18 year olds join the military, the weapons they are issued are NOT their personal property. They are given them to USE. When we were all growing up, a father or grandfather could give or loan a weapon to us, even though we were not old enough to legally purchase one from the hardware store in town. I do not see where that is changed in the current proposals, although the “How to boil a frog” analogy applies. In fact, I bought a Ruger American .308 last year for my grandson’s 16th birthday (after his parents and I agreed he was mature enough to use it properly.) The current proposal would not allow him to BUY it, but does not prohibit him from USING or POSSESSING it. Some of the other proposed infringements are far more onerous and merit our full attention. I, for one, believe that hardening all the “soft target” gun-free zones is the only answer that has a chance of success, but that would not advance the libs’ anti-gun agenda.

    • Bob March 12, 2018, 9:40 am

Well, the bottom line on this age thing is this: If they are NOT responsible enough to Own a Pistol or Rifle, then how can we as a Society, TRUST them to make a proper decision to VOTE for our government and how DARE we say to that age group, go DIE for your Country or worse!

      • KimberproSS March 12, 2018, 11:01 am

Also, that age limit is bogus. If anything, our young are maturing earlier than years past. It is education that is the difference. Honestly, since there is an Amendment that guarantees our right to bear arms, the children should be taught how to use one. I taught mine. Most importantly, it is important for the family of a gun owner to understand how to clear a firearm and determine it is safe.

        • SteveinSedona March 12, 2018, 11:51 am

“I taught mine. Most importantly, it is important for the family of a gun owner to understand how to clear a firearm and determine it is safe.”
So it seems to me that you’re advocating personal responsibility. How dare you go against the nanny state like that. I bet you believe that you should be able to buy large cups of soda if you choose.
          Michael Bloomberg hates you.

        • Green tip March 13, 2018, 11:15 am

I agree with you ‘Kimber’, except that ‘there’s a HUGE difference between MATURING (being mature) and HAVING to grow up’. These days young people are HAVING TO GROW UP in a hurry where technology & being a ‘part of’ this world is changing at a blistering pace, way faster than say 20 yrs ago. People are so self-absorbed, self-centered and FULL of apathy…thanks mainly to the liberal profs/colleges. A person typically isn’t “matured” until AFTER leaving college imho. That’s when the REAL world kicks in & most are NOT prepared for the onslaught of responsibility it requires. THAT”S ‘WHEN’ maturity starts to emerge…

      • Steve March 12, 2018, 11:06 am

If you read Heinlein’s book “Starship Troopers”, you’ll find it has much more sensible political commentary than the movie (although the movie had more nudity). In Heinlein’s world, the only way a person could become a citizen was to serve a hitch in the military. If you didn’t serve, you weren’t allowed to vote.
Bob, your point is well taken, but perhaps a variation of Heinlein’s idea would work. I would trust with a gun an 18-year-old that has been trained in firearm use by the military. I would not so trust that same 18-year-old if his level of training is merely what he picked up from playing Grand Theft Auto.

        • Zupglick March 12, 2018, 11:55 am

          Or our educational system.

        • Bob March 13, 2018, 9:09 am

I agree the Political System in that book as well.. In fact, I wish that it was that way in our own government!

        • Green tip March 13, 2018, 11:21 am

Hmm, sounds a LOT like Israel’s societal, governing arrangement. It is a great model as it HASto be…look WHERE they live. In the middle of all that hatred & they’re making it work as well as can be imagined

    • Steve March 12, 2018, 10:15 am

But it’s not a matter of how ‘big’ the new restrictions are. The fun-grabbers obviously cannot confiscate our guns in one fell swoop – so their strategy is to water-down our rights ‘one step at a time’ until guns are gone. Geraldo made that admission during a ‘slip-of-the-tongue’ on the Hannity TV Show (CPAC edition).

    • KimberproSS March 12, 2018, 10:56 am

The problem is any of those actions, even if the result doesn’t have much effect, infringes on our freedoms. The progressive liberal gun grabbers will continue to chip away, a little here, a little there, and then the masses start softening on their convictions to freedom and liberty and allow more and more to be infringed. I am convinced the progressive liberal democrat is after total control of the people. If they can stay the course long enough, they can soften the country. The forefathers warned of this.

  • joefoam March 12, 2018, 9:05 am

If you’re already in the market I’d continue to shop around. If not, don’t panic buy, that’s exactly what they want. The NRA has been stirring up public paranoia for decades to keep their coffers full of our cash. I have joined other pro gun organizations and would encourage others to do so as well. There are 100+ million gun owners in this country. If we can’t make that many voices heard we should just turn the guns in, as they did in Australia, and reminicse about the good times we had when they were legal. I think it’s time for the manufacturers to step up as well. They will be the beneficiary of all the panic buying. If the weapons are banned who stands to lose the most. Faced with bankruptcy they don’t seem to be doing much.

  • Altoids March 12, 2018, 8:32 am

I know some of you may not think too much of the NRA.
But before you dis them, just remember who the gun banning left complains about.
Hint – it’s not SAF, or JFPO, although these too are excellent organizations.

    • Tom March 12, 2018, 9:14 am

I am a life member of the NRA. A member of the GOA and I support the SAF and have supported JFPO in the past. I am tired of of the whole mess. The Republican party has been screwing over gun owners since Reagan. The Democrats have been pretty much screwing over gun owners forever. I don’t see any difference in either party and the NRA and GOA appear, (at least to me) to be in on the big dog and pony show along with the gun industry. I am totally turned off by this latest call for panic buying and I am all done giving a hoot about the NRA, the GOA, the gun industry, the media and anything related to politics.

      • Luke March 12, 2018, 3:35 pm

        Tom:
That’s exactly what the Chuck Schumer’s of the Senate want. They actually thrive and prosper on apathy and ignorance in the electorate. That’s their game: wear everyone down with their obstructionist bullshit to the point where a large portion of the electorate doesn’t care anymore about anything. That said, I’m not optimistic either and I won’t bother writing senators or congress reps – it’s useless. Voting, on the other hand, is the ONLY thing gun owners have left. It ain’t much but it’s the only thing separating 2.3 pounds of pull and complete anarchy now. Good luck, man.

        • Green tip March 13, 2018, 11:01 am

Could NOT have said it any better. Everybody’s sick & tired of this “tug of war” & rope o’ dope, it all seems useless and can’t rely on anyone, ESPECIALLY in politics. And yet we can ‘vote’, that’s all we’ve got and it REALLY seems in vain too. THINK “Tree of Liberty” folks

  • Tom March 12, 2018, 8:28 am

After We elect a pro gun majority in both houses and a pro gun president. A slump in gun sales and ammunition begins. A mass shooting takes place in Nevada and the NRA (who recieves much of it’s support from the fire arms industry) calls for further regulations on bump stocks. The reciprocal carry bill gets sunk by both the NRA and the GOA. The NRA supports attaching the fix nics amendment and the GOA does not, causing a divide between gun owners. This gives the anti gun crowd an in and allows an out for our not so pro gun republicans. Thus allowing the reciprical carry bill and hearing protection act to die. One more mass shoiting in Flordia and now the gun industry is calling for get them before they ban them and the 2018 panic has begun. Do any other gun owners get the same feeling I do. That just maybe this whole thing was nothing more than a dog and pony show to aid slumping gun and/or ammo sales and… to allow the not so pro gun republicans a way to get out of passing pro gun legislation? I flat out refuse to be manipulated into panic buying anything!

  • Rod March 12, 2018, 8:00 am

Man…dont fall for the marketing folks…Obama never took our guns but we let the gun lobby convince us to buy in bulk for nothing…now they are saying folks bought by the NRA are gonna outlaw or take our guns…wake up and save your money…

    • Bill March 12, 2018, 11:53 am

The gun lobby never tried to convince anyone to buy in bulk – the market became afraid of restrictions that were clearly announced by Obama and his cronies (Feinstein said “If I could I would say Mr and Mrs America, hand in your guns…” and market forces did that. Supply supply and demand. The NRA doesn’t manufacture, sell or otherwise benefit from gun sales – only the federal government does with the 12% excise tax, and local government with 7% sales tax (depending on area)!
The NRA doesn’t bribe or buy politicians unlike Bloomberg, but they do endorse those politicians who are pro Second Amendment.
Rod you might want to listen to guys like “srsquidizen” who understand basics of Economics, and not fall foul to the rumor that Liberal Media spreads, that the NRA is the enemy.

      • Tom March 12, 2018, 3:13 pm

True but you forgot one thing. The NRA receives huge donations from gun manufacturers, ammo manufacturers and others like Midway USA. These donors do benefit from panic buying and they have the NRA’s ear.

  • Dan March 12, 2018, 7:56 am

What we should all be screaming for is Metal Detectors and Screeners at all of our schools, just like we have at our airports, not only to protect our children, but to protect our rights!

  • akjc77 March 12, 2018, 7:38 am

If it’s this bad with a Republican majority and President just imagine the pure 1984 Sal Alinsky utopia Hillary would have installed had she won! We are being hoo doo’d by the Obama left overs and deep state and turn coat crooks in Republican party! The America 1st policies we finally woke up and voted for have scared the deep state tyrants into dbl action.

Yeah the libtard media has succeeded where libtard legislators can’t. The law of supply and demand has implemented “waiting periods” even in states where they haven’t passed any new idiotic knee-jerk laws…yet.
