Reality. It’s something some americans just can’t grasp. These hogs need to be in the cities, like central park, to wake people up to reality. People who are always talking their trash and judgement, probably have never had to live with the damage these hogs are responsible for. Reality is often not pretty, but sometimes you just have to put on your big boy and big girl panties and deal with it.

My first reaction was, “What a waste of good meat.” I can appreciate the non-hunter’s horror at seeing these hogs blown to pieces. This does not look humane, however, the death of these hogs was instantaneous unlike being shot when these tough animals often survive the first round and need to be tracked down and dispatched with a second and third round. Feral hogs are a major problem in the South and they are being hunted in any number of ways included by use of helicopter in some areas. Again, while I personally would not ever hunt animals in this way, the major problem I have is that the individuals are not harvesting the meat. Five hogs of that size would yield plenty of bacon!

They need to be thinned out and that’s a pretty good way to do it if you don’t want the meat.

They are not officially “hunting”, they are eradicating pests, just like ex-large cockroach…. that’s why its legal. It is classified as Pest control with no limits on the takes or how you put them down, you can kill them anyway you see fit in many states, they even offer machine gun ferel hog “hunts”. These hogs are causing over $500,000 million in damages each year in Texas alone and are spreading very dangerous diseases. Even with a massive 24hr/7 /365 unrestricted hog “hunting” through out most southern states, these ferel hogs are spreading very much like a plague.
So stop being sooo ignorant and research something before you make an ass out of yourself next time.
What part of feral hogs being killed instantaneously bothered you the most? Was it because they weren’t blood tracked for hours after being shot with a .223? Is it because you think they should be shot individually? I think you are missing the entire point of killing feral hogs, a pest. I see this reaction to our Crow hunts, the famous Gopher hunts, Dove hunts, anything people don’t understand or isn’t in their own personal culture they automatically insult people and try to hide behind the “huntership” and “responsible gun owner” angles. Some states consider Feral Hogs a pest, some consider it to be a game animal. Most states have the “landowner-can-kill-as-many-of-them-as-they-can” law. But you consider yourself judge and jury to something you know nothing about?
