Here’s the List of Business Leaders Urging the Senate to Enact Gun Control

Last week, a group of more than 220 business leaders signed on to a letter urging the U.S. Senate to “take bold urgent action” on gun control.

The full list is below but here are some of the more prominent businesses to take a pro-gun control stance: Levi Strauss & Co., The Permanente Medical Group, Inc., Bloomberg LP, Lyft, SF Giants, Unilever United States, Bumble, Yelp, Bain Capital, Northwell Health, Eventbrite, and the Philadelphia Eagles.

“Our nation’s gun violence epidemic is a public health crisis threatening the rituals of our daily lives. Schools, places of worship, and grocery stores should be safe havens from violence, but inaction on federal legislation has made gun violence a uniquely American problem,” said Chip Bergh, Chief Executive Officer and President of Levi Strauss & Co, in a press release obtained by GunsAmerica.

“By passing common-sense gun safety legislation, our lawmakers can save lives and restore safety in our communities. It’s time to act,” he added.

The business leaders don’t spell out which gun control measures they want the Senate to enact in the letter.  However, they do claim that gun violence costs American taxpayers, employers, and communities “$280 billion per year.”

“These business leaders are proving that supporting gun safety isn’t just the right thing to do — it’s also good for business,” said Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action.

“There’s a groundswell of Americans rising up and demanding the Senate not look away from the gun violence tearing apart our communities and finally take action to save lives,” she continued. “Inaction is not an option.”

While the Senate has agreed to a framework for a deal that includes enhanced background checks for adults under 21, improved school safety programs, and funding for mental health, the upper chamber has not come to terms on two other items, expanding “red flag” laws and closing the putative “boyfriend loophole.”

Lawmakers are running against the clock, as they are scheduled to recess before the Fourth of July.

President Biden on Monday was optimistic that a deal will get done.

“I’m confident that … there’s a serious, serious negotiation that’s getting close to becoming fruition,” Biden told reporters

While we wait to see what comes from these talks, here is the full list of businesses:

The 2nd amendment of the constitution does not give anyone the right to bear (own) arms of any kind. That right existed long before the Constitution of th United States came into being and the 2nd amendment only makes note that it is undeniable and may not be altered by the government which it restrains.

  • RANDY June 27, 2022, 2:00 pm

There are a lot more to add to the list like: EBAY AND PAYPAL just to mention a couple. A lot of chain stores, banks and even Doctors who are un-American.

  • John Boutwell June 27, 2022, 1:17 pm

It will be interesting to see how many people buy into the woke crap vs. people that will no longer buy from these companies.

  • JohnE June 27, 2022, 12:23 pm

How much were they paid to have their name on the list?
Stupid and naive to put their name on such a list because it put them in the spotlight.

  • Tom Hobbs June 27, 2022, 11:46 am

I laugh every time I see Levi’s mentioned. I must have 4-6pair of brand new, never been worn, sale tags/stickers on the in the closet. Wife is constantly on me about wearing older Jean’s when I have these new ones there. For the record, I have put the in the trash within 10 minutes of seeing them each time. She keeps pulling them out. I refuse to wear them and have told her my objections. We have a bonfire coming up soon here and I plan on using them for firestarter. I wont consider insulting a homeless man by giving them away. I can’t wear Levi’s anyway. Too tight and absolutely no ball room.

    • Geo Ling August 14, 2022, 8:55 am

I haven’t knowingly purchased a Levi product by any name since 1985 when they publicly took their donations away from the Boy Scouts.

  • Bulletcatcher June 27, 2022, 7:40 am

Here is the irony of this group of sad sacks. They piss and moan that 41 thousand people, on the average, die every year by gun violence. Why it puts Shannon Twats panties in a twist.
However, do you ever hear a single one of these outstanding corporations raise Cain about abortion? No, of course not. And interesting enough, 630 thousand babies are murdered every year, on the average. But, you don’t see Miss Twat or Miss Hog raising any he’ll about that!

  • Lord Bludgeon June 26, 2022, 9:04 am

Handy list to have. No surprises, it’s just a list of the usual suspects… Socialist-leaning, gun-grabbing commie companies like Ben & Jerry’s and DoorDash that I already won’t do business with. Thanks for the list, though. 😀

  • Jay June 26, 2022, 12:34 am

Great public service announcement. Can’t say I use any of those. Cut out Dicks after his last BS stance and Levi too. It does hurt a little I will no longer be watching J.J. Abrams but fuck em.

  • Mike M June 25, 2022, 5:10 pm

If you compared this list with a list of the Worst run companies they would be eerily similar. 🤔

    • Jake June 27, 2022, 9:42 am

If you compared it to lists of companies that sent their manufacturing to China and Mexico there would be a lot of matches. Same with clot shot mandates, groveling before BLM while they burn cities etc. Virtue signaling cowards and America haters.

  • Janet Tomkins June 25, 2022, 4:01 pm

Copy this list into a file and save it on your computer. Then, before you make any significant financial decision, check the list and see if one of these anti-second amendment, anti-American companies is trying to take your money. If so, try to find some other purveyor of what you need.
We should not be funding those who want to take away our rights, our freedoms. We should not be funding those who support destroying our country and who are promoting tyranny.

  • Stan d. Upnow June 25, 2022, 2:37 pm

    Go “woke,” go broke!

  • Geo Ling June 24, 2022, 10:56 pm

Corporations don’t have opinions. These are all a bunch of unAmerican anti-Constitution CEOs using the grand stand of their corps to toot their horns. I’ll keep this list for future reference, for those that I haven’t already been boycotting for 20-30+ years.

  • Ed from Kaiser June 24, 2022, 9:33 pm

If it is ANY part of the Kaiser Hospital system, they are anti-2a and the leadership is very woke. It doesn’t matter the region. Hawaii, Southern California, Northern California, Colorado, Northwest, Washington, Mid Atlantic or Georgia.

Every year, we have to choke on the woke training.

  • JAMES BARCHOK June 24, 2022, 8:36 pm

After looking over that list I have discovered that I don’t do business with any of those companies! If I boycott them, none of them will miss me because I don’t do business with them anyway!

  • Rosa C June 24, 2022, 4:37 pm

    Thank you for the list!

  • The Wiz June 24, 2022, 4:22 pm

What is common sense??? As well common sense gun laws???? Common sense would say to me obey the law that is put in front of you. Become a criminal and face the punishment, that is common sense. To take away the rights that are in the constitution is not common sense. The left just can’t wait for a shooting of any size and jump on the band wagon for MORE gun laws, why let a tragedy go to waste. The Texas shooting was bad, real bad, but what was worse was the law enforcement standing in the hall with enough fire power to put an end to the whole thing but not do it, now that is a tragedy. More gun laws to add the the thousands that are already in law books are enough to cover most everything. If all these companies are on board for more laws why don’t they just tell the truth and say they don’t want any guns in anybody hands. There is a tragedy for sure, a quick look at history and that would be enough to tell what happens when guns and self defense are taken away. And to add common sense to this issue is a real tragedy.

  • Chris Berg June 24, 2022, 3:18 pm

Amazing to see all the variety of names here, many of them obviously not native-born Americans of European origin who started this country with the greatest Constitution ever, with many females proudly signing on to this list of dangerous idiots, and these anti-American socialists who are doing their best to destroy the US even as they gain wealth and power here. They stupidly use and allow the recent actions of two 18 years olds to dictate life and law for millions of law-abiding patriotic Americans. This is how evil liberals are.
These Marxists are going to see their business rightfully and deservedly suffer.

  • Alex June 24, 2022, 2:28 pm

you beat me to it bruce, that’s exactly what i was thinking,i bet everyone of these assholes have armed protection for their families!

  • David Boerboom June 24, 2022, 1:36 pm

Now …. Let’s see how all you back the blue nut jobs feels about it when one of your Marxist buddies kicks in your door and takes your s***…

All these knob slobs always talking about, I don’t think that cops are going to do this or that, or violate their oath… They violate their oats on a daily basis, many of them the minute they wake up and put on a badge…

That’s one thing that non-intellectuals don’t seem to grasp, is what about when what conflicts with their oaths becomes law?

What has to happen for you people to understand, that these people are not your friends? Does a house need to fall on you?

You are cattle to them, and nothing more. But it doesn’t matter, there’s one thing that Uncle Joe said out of thousands of things that was true or made sense.. if you’re going to face the government you need things like f-15s and a-bombs….hell, just having comms would be nice…when it happens, you’re not going to even have that …..and you’re a little punk ass AR-15 is not going to do much when six GunTrucks pull up in front of your house…this is why nobody likes americans, how arrogant to think that having some guns is going to defend you from tyranny.

Now this is me playing The devil’s advocate… I’m not agreeing with what I just said, or should I say I’m not liking it, it’s just the truth.

Hopefully, when this swatting becomes large scale, hopefully someone will have the courage to wipe out as many of them “just following orders”, as possible.

Just because something’s a law doesn’t make it legal. The time of the true patrioticness has long been over with.

I can’t tell you how many times a piece of s*** female has called the cops on me, and they’re just tripping over themselves to eat her words… Damsel in distress… All even while being that it would take a moron not to be able to see through her psychotic rage….but I guess thats what they are. Morons with guns…and badges… Sort of like, morons with guns, and voter ID cards.

98% of the world’s population is dumb as a box of rocks, and I’m forced to live with it. It’s been the bane of my existence.

  • Max Silva June 24, 2022, 1:01 pm

The border is wide open. 250,000 illegals come every month through the “Welcome Gates”. 500,000 come through the border a few miles away because they carry dope and guns from Thailand, Afghanistan, Turkey, and other countries. The criminals will always have guns.
A few victims said that only their guns saved their lives in their homes. Police came TOO LATE.
See http://www.YouTube.com/video/Homeowners Defend homes -actual home videos.

  • mauser6863 June 24, 2022, 12:43 pm

Well this is very useful list to have. I’d like to thank all these business “leaders” for putting themselves on the side of the totalitarians who want to rule all of us that in their minds comprise the “Great Unwashed Masses”. Hopefully, one day we can house these people all together in prison for conspiracy to violate the Constitutional Rights of their fellow Americans.

  • bobs your uncle June 24, 2022, 12:31 pm

People frequently point to Australia, a country with a total gun ban. Hows that working? OOPS not so well

  • Robert Floyd June 24, 2022, 10:47 am

Well what a nice group of people. It reminds me of the saying “lets eat cow shit, 100 billion flies can’t be wrong”

  • Billy Smith June 24, 2022, 10:18 am

So everyone in their business will be sitting ducks.
    Criminals don’t obey laws,
Criminals get that their guns illegally.
    Idiots!

    • Stan d. Upnow June 25, 2022, 2:40 pm

Britain banned the guns. Then, they banned knives(!). Guess what?

  • George W. June 24, 2022, 10:06 am

Some states have laws on the books that say if you commit a crime with a gun its an automatic 10 years added to the rest of criminals sentences. Why is it that these laws are the first thing that are plea bargained away or not applied at all. I am sure it is to get the criminal to plead guilty to other charges that have lesser sentences. All to reduce the volume of cases on the court dockets. If the our government , especially the bleeding heart left, really wants to curb gun crimes there should be a law that will not let these prosecutors or judges give away or not apply these existing laws. When every state enacts a law that requires a 25 year sentence (with no chance for parole) for ANY use of a firearm in a violent crime that is added to the end of all other sentences. And that these laws can never plead away there will surely be a change in the criminal mindset. At the very least these repeat offenders will be over 50 when released. If they won’t do this then maybe their sentence should be mandatory employment in any of these companies.

  • Abby Normal June 24, 2022, 10:00 am

Now watch gun crimes soar. It never fails. But I’m not playing their stupid games so a stupid prize won’t come my way. Stay vigilante and always carry.

  • Billy M June 24, 2022, 9:49 am

Levi Strauss CEO doesn’t surprise me. He has been anti-gun for years, contributing to many anti-gun causes. That is why I no longer buy Levi products. He is supposedly a veteran but hates guns. We all need to look at this list and see if we can help shut down some of these businesses or at least not give them money to make us slaves.

    • Syrve June 24, 2022, 12:35 pm

      Amen

  • Walt Morris June 24, 2022, 9:36 am

Every dictator who has taken a countries freedoms knows the first thing they have to do is disarm the public. Communists have claimed in excess of 100 million people in the last 150 years. They have to take all of our freedoms to meet their goals. Welcome to poverty central like Venezuela Cuba China, Russia. Obama has hurt the USA more than anyone in our history. He was our first communist president and has fought endlessly to disarm our country and take the rest of our freedoms. Civil War 2.0 is on its way!

  • Bruce June 24, 2022, 9:16 am

How many of the individuals listed have armed escorts, CCW or own guns?

    • tim June 27, 2022, 8:03 am

Exactly, A list of companies that want to ban private security would be a lot easier to read.

  • William Henry June 24, 2022, 8:38 am

Whoopi gold booger — Molon Labe !!!

  • Bill hitt June 24, 2022, 8:36 am

Good to know the enemy, but it would be much more user friendly if it were alphabetical by company! Scrolling through after reading names of people is VERY hard and overly time consuming. I want to stop buying from them, but it’s hard within this listing.

    • Clint W. June 24, 2022, 9:51 am

Well, the businesses are alphabetized, you just have to look past the names. I don’t see Autozone on there, they are very anti 2A.

Thanks, I will print that list.

Amen! The left will bully and harass if you don’t agree with their “liberal” opinions. Maybe a total boycott of these businesses is the proper reaction if we are playing by the left’s rules of engagement?

It’s not the firearm, it’s the hate and the teaching that one is a perpetual victim, and one is an oppressor. We’ve become the Divided States of America. Another issue is Hollywood. How many portrayed murders has a person seen by the time they are 21?

IF I LIVED IN PENCIL- VAIN-YEAH, AND HAD A LOSING TEAM OF FOOTBALL CALLED THE PHILLS-DELL-PHYEA BEAGLES , I WOULD BE EMBARRASSED AND SURELY WOULD NEVER GO TO ONE OF THEIR LOSING GAMES….

Restricting the rights of those who don’t do the shootings will prevent the shootings?

    Brilliant!

Why not just legislate the USA to be a safe space.?

    Problem solved…right?

I wonder how a cross reference between this company list and a list of World Economic Forum membership would compare?

These BLOOMIN IDIOTS — STILL do not comprehend; THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS “gun violence”! The VIOLENCE COMES FROM A BREATHING BEING that is WANTON to harm others. The gun IS an INANIMATE OBJECT that can do NOTHING by itself!

““By passing common-sense gun safety legislation, our lawmakers can save lives and restore safety in our communities. It’s time to act,” he added. ”
IN OTHER WORDS — DAMN the ESTABLISHED American Constitution and the 10 amendments that ALLOW the RIGHTS and FREEDOMS of the American Citizens to continue.

I and MILLIONS more American LEGAL LAW ABIDING Citizens want these USEFUL IDIOTS to LEAVE US ALONE!

We Legal Law Abiding American Citizens —- DEMAND the WANTON MURDERERS, TERRORISTS and CRIMINALS be the individuals which are gone after and PUNISHED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW!
These “prosecutors” and “judges” who are turning loose these ASSAULTERS — MUST take RESPONSIBILITY for turning loose and NOT PROSECUTING these WANTON MURDERERS, TERRORISTS and CRIMINALS.

Awful considerate of them to tell me they don’t want my money ever again. Here’s hoping enough gun owners get the message that they need to reconsider their opinions or face bankruptcy.

      Levis going in the trash

      • MIke S. June 24, 2022, 10:31 am

Quit Levis years and years ago. Always been woke, even before there WAS a “woke.”

  • Kevin Jones June 22, 2022, 10:05 pm

    Thanks for the list.
I haven’t been to Dicks or wore Levi in years. I will never give these business my money. I will pass on the list to everyone I know.
