Hi-Point 10mm Semi-Auto Carbine is Here! Price: $389.99

Authors Industry News S.H. Blannelberry

This week, Hi-Point Firearms announced the price of their highly-anticipated 10mm carbine.  The MSRP: $389.99

“This new carbine chambered for the potent 10mm cartridge will make a lot of buyers happy,” said MKS president Charles Brown in a press release. “Tough, reliable and accurate, it fills the bill for a robust, reliable and accurate firearm that delivers excellent performance.

Hi-Point began working on this project in the spring of 2017.  Due to the strong demand for everything 10mm, it was a no-brainer.

Hi-Point 10mm Semi-Auto Carbine is Here! Price: 9.99

Specs:

  • Model Number: 1095TS
  • Barrel: 17.5 inches, threaded barrel (0.578x28TPI)
  • Caliber:10mm Automatic
  • Sight: Iron with ghost ring
  • Overall length: 32 inches
  • Weight:7 pounds
  • Capacity: One 10-round magazine with each carbine
  • Trigger: 6-pound single-stage
  • MSRP: $389.99

When I think of Hi-Point, I think of fun and affordability.  The 1095TS certainly fits that bill.  But it’s also more than just a range toy.  By giving the 10mm round some extra room to run, the 1095TS is a viable hunting tool.

I’m excited to take a look at it at SHOT Show 2018, this coming January. Of course, we also plan on getting one in for review, ASAP.  Stay tuned.

I’ve found that high point does not make very reliable pistols I’ve had 3: 45,40 & 9mm, I would never buy or recommend HP hand guns to anybody. But I will say that I’ve had a lot of fun with the HP 9mm carbine and it’s been very reliable. Looking fwd to purchasing the 10.

  • Richard English February 19, 2018, 4:33 am

I saw the HP 10mm carbine on youtube and immediately fell in love, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I see semblance to the AK 47, its ugly but has a famous reputation for being cheap and reliable under extreme conditions. Cannot wait to fire the HP.

  • peter February 7, 2018, 1:24 pm

This model has unique features that interest me not just for hunting.

  • Rick December 9, 2017, 1:03 am

I’d rather have the 40sw model. The ammo is cheaper and looking at factory stuff out the 10mm is abt the same power.

    • Damian March 11, 2018, 10:53 am

You are nuts the .40 cal does not have near the speed nor power of the 10MM auto Where did you hear this BS?do some research pal before spouting off stupid things.

      • Tex May 6, 2019, 11:47 am

Gee, dude, there is no need to be rude because someone is not correct with his technical description.

  • DrThunder88 December 8, 2017, 4:38 pm

Is it for licensing reasons that HiPoint has to use their own magazines instead of Glock 20 or EAA Witness magazines? If so, that’s a shame. Packing an extra four or five rounds in the mag would be excellent, not to mention it possibly making finding mags easier.

    • Shortpop December 9, 2017, 3:03 pm

I agree wholeheartedly. If it can’t carry 20 rounds, I have no use for it. For home protection, I have a Norinco copy of the Winchester ’97 trench gun and an AR.

      • Dimmy Beanbag March 7, 2018, 2:38 pm

        That bad a shot eh?

        • Damian March 11, 2018, 10:54 am

HAHA good 1 bro .Yea he must suck i need 1 round .

      • Thomas Morrow April 27, 2019, 5:22 pm

I use a Ruger GP-100 for a defensive pistol . If you can’t do it in 6 .357 magnums it probably can’t be done

  • Bill December 8, 2017, 4:13 pm

Years ago, at a gun show, I bought a Hi Point carbine in 45 acp. Admittedly, they are not much to look at, but I have never had a problem and it is very accurate within the effective range of the round. I do wish they made higher capacity mags. Not sure where they fit except maybe for home defense. I’ve kept mine, but don’t see a reason to buy another.

    • David December 10, 2017, 12:17 am

I have a Hi Point carbine in .45 that I would love to like… but I can’t get past the crappy trigger. Does it get better with use or is there a replacement trigger available for it?

  • Dave Sherburne December 8, 2017, 1:46 pm

About time. I will get one for hog hunting. Will send a 200gr. Thru the brush just fine.

    • Damian March 11, 2018, 10:54 am

I want the camo 1 in 10MM to pop coyotes with on my hunting land .And possibly deer if i feel the cartridge has the power will be my first 10MM .

  • Dave Sherburne December 8, 2017, 1:43 pm

I said not more than a month ago that they should come out with the 10mm. And caught all kinds of hell from the carbine gods and oh there it is. Cry now gun gods.

  • Area 52 December 8, 2017, 12:37 pm

Maybe in addition to adding a caliber they should take the time to refine the looks of their carbine. Let’s face it, it’s looks are definitely not a hi point of that gun.

    • w w December 8, 2017, 1:05 pm

      It’s a High point, Genius. It’s not a Steyr.

      • Technologist December 9, 2017, 12:57 pm

I like the look… I call it my “Planet of the Apes” Rifle!

    • Rollin Shultz February 7, 2018, 9:00 am

They don’t need to make a fashion statement to me. I would prefer looks to follow function and not pay extra for useless cosmetic additions. You don’t go to a Volkswagen dealer to buy a Ferrari.

    • Damian March 11, 2018, 10:55 am

i like ugly guns they still kill what ya need em too and do not look like what everyone else has .

  • JC Tierno December 8, 2017, 12:15 pm

I have a 9mm carbine which I customized and love it. I was hoping Hi-Point would make a 22 TCM next.
It’s a natural spinoff from the 9mm, as it would use the same magazine and action. Just a barrel change.
    That I would buy.

  • LongTom December 8, 2017, 10:50 am

After retiring, my fun job was working for a regional sporting goods store in gun sales, ATFE compliance and customer firearm returns to manufacturers for repairs. I shared a common negative prejudice about Hi-Point firearms based solely on looks. I sold a lot of HP handguns to people on a budget who wanted something for home defense and/or plinking.
I sent back handguns and long guns from virtually all makers for repairs……EXCEPT HI-POINT. I shot my cousin’s HP 9mm pistol and was impressed with its accuracy and handling, although it would have been far down the list for concealed carry because of its large size mandated by being blowback operated. Finally a customer sold back to us a 9mm carbine of the first generation because he had lost his job and needed the money. It was about 60 days old and he said his teenage sons had put 500 rounds of “cheap stuff” through it one weekend with zero probs. It was the camo version and sat on the rack because it was, charitably, butt-ugly. I took pity on it and took it home. That night I shot nine rabbits out of a neighbor’s garden plot with it using my 90 gr jhp hand loads. All one-shot kills, some at 35 yards offhand. Then I cleaned out an astonishing amount of “el-cheap-oh” crud and shot it from a rest at the club with a variety of ammo. More accurate than my Kel-Tec Sub 2K and equally dependable. I would like a smoother trigger but apparently users on various user groups have returned these to HP for trigger work and also tackled the job themselves with satisfaction. Video on YouTube.
I have been planning on getting the long-awaited and hoped-for 45 carbine but the arrival of the 10mm is Manna from heaven.
Sign me up! If there was ever a pistol-cartridge carbine fated for the Missouri deer woods, this is it. It will be good company for my S&W 1076. Cheers!

  • Tom Benton December 8, 2017, 9:53 am

I have owned a 9mm for years. Though it appears crudely made, it just works. I was fortunate to purchase an ATI stock conversion when they were available so my version emulates a Bertta. I now have a 223 bullpup but prior to it’s purchase I felt the 9mm carbine was the perfect home defense weapon. Shorter than an extended pistol and much more stable under duress. 25 round mags are now available for the 9mm providing plenty of firepower in a compact package.

  • flintman50 December 8, 2017, 9:24 am

Highly reliable….They used them on Planet of the Apes – just ask Cornelius and Zira.

    • Area 52 December 8, 2017, 12:35 pm

I guess that’s why a lot of people like to monkey around with them.

      • Rob April 22, 2019, 6:19 pm

Ding Ding, thanks for those, Area 52, you make reading reviews fun again!

  • mike December 8, 2017, 8:07 am

Gross! If the last weapon on earth…and i mean IF…..then i would grab one to save my life. gross!looks like recycled garbage.probably IS

    • David April 23, 2018, 7:08 pm

You must work for a competitor. Hi Points rock!

  • Joe December 8, 2017, 7:47 am

Now that’s a carbine I’d feel good with as a backup or survival piece. Any bear that can take ten rounds of .10 mm ammo out of a carbine probably is gonna kill you regardless.

    • Damian March 11, 2018, 11:01 am

You would just piss a big grizz off with that 10MM srry lol unless you hit him right in the head with a FMJ bullet and it penetrated the skull if not he will just rip you to shreds and leave ya lay it will not kill him most likely .

      • David April 23, 2018, 7:10 pm

Guys are using 10 mm routinely for bear. And that’s been with a pistol! If a .22 can kill a grizz, a 10 mm certainly will.

  • Bill melanson December 8, 2017, 7:04 am

I have the 40 pistol and the 40 and 9mm carbine and have had no problems love them will probably get the 10 when it comes out

  • Sailordl December 8, 2017, 6:08 am

I’ve had experience with Hi Point pistols..
    Blocky , crude and unreliable.
Appear to be fabricated from old Buick bumpers.
    Don’t waste your money!

    • bill smith December 8, 2017, 9:05 am

True in the past but they have come a very long way. The Carbines are ugly as sin but are some of the most reliable on the market.

    • David April 23, 2018, 7:10 pm

Then you haven’t owned a Hi Point.

  • Jeff December 8, 2017, 5:24 am

For an MSRP of $389.99 you could almost just buy a cheap AR15 so why exactly would anyone buy a Hi-Point at that price?

    • bill smith December 8, 2017, 9:07 am

      Because they work.
The Carbines are ugly as sin but are some of the most reliable on the market

      • Damian March 11, 2018, 11:07 am

And why buy a rifle (AR) i hated when it was issued to me and my entire 14 yrs in the army the hi point is much more of a simple ,reliable ,and just as ugly as any AR and a hell of a lot cheaper .We are not taking these carbines into battle they are for small game hunting and plinking along with a long gun for home defense so STFU AR’S SUCK.And the hi point 10 mil will get me to a better gun if need be if SHTF.

    • DC December 9, 2017, 11:25 pm

Would u trust your or your families lives to a $400 AR??? I sure as hell wouldn’t plus check out the ballistics difference between 10mm and 223 especially 10mm out of a rifle WOW that’s screaming and super hard hitting

      • Damian March 11, 2018, 11:10 am

Exactly my point brother the 1 guy is a total numb nuts lol. And it will do the job in 10 mil the 5.56 wont you can abuse the hell out of these carbines they still fire when an AR would not .

        • David April 23, 2018, 7:19 pm

True. I had my fill of 16s in the military, which could jam easily and looked and felt like Mattel toys. Plus, some states won’t allow anything but shotguns and straight-walled pistol ammo for deer hunting. And the ammo has to be 357 or higher. One guy told me his 10mm Hi Point carbine put a round through a deer at 35 yards. It ran 20 ft. then collapsed. I was debating getting a 243, but I’d have to hunt deer in another state, plus pay more for the privilege. The Hi Point 10 mm id just what the doctor ordered!

  • Steveb December 6, 2017, 9:33 pm

I have a 9mm carbine. Great shot. Lots of fun. The ghost rings make it dead eye accurate. Love it!

  • Shane Hodgemire December 6, 2017, 7:32 pm

I have the hi point 45 carbine, no matter what anyone says, no issues, straight shooter, impressed with it for the value, would love to have the 10mm, I have shot many guns and own many, bought on a whim and I like it

    • Bryan McColl December 6, 2017, 9:10 pm

I have the 9mm carbine. It’s a tough gun. I’ll get the 10 when comes out.

    • Steveb December 6, 2017, 9:34 pm

      Love my 9!

    • bigdrumdaddy December 8, 2017, 5:13 pm

I’ve got the 4595TS (.45 ACP) model, converted to accept 1911 mags. Using 15-rd 1911 mags, & 28-rd drum mags, I have above-adequate capacity. And zero FTF or FTEs. DuraCoated mine in Woodland Camo.. It’s a solid, dependable, accurate truck/trunk gun with several 1000 rnds through it.
I’m just waiting for the 10mm model. Sure to be a winner.
