Hillary Clinton Talks ‘Stand Your Ground’ Laws Before Black Voters

2nd Amendment – R2KBA Authors S.H. Blannelberry This Week

One of the most irking things about politicians is that they don’t pursue America’s vote, they divide and subdivide us into target audiences and pursue the black vote, the Christian vote, the latino vote, the pro-choice vote, the gun vote, etc.

I think it’s insulting to everyone involved. To state the obvious, not all latino’s think alike, not all Christians think alike, not all blacks think alike, etc.  But that’s how we are viewed by the political class, as one segment or another of like-minded rubes who will be easily won over by targeted buzzwords and carefully crafted slogans at these small events and gatherings.

All politicians pander, of course, and speak to us as if we are incapable of thinking outside the stereotypical associations of our respective demographic.  But when Hillary does it, for some reason, it seems even more offensive, inauthentic and disingenuous than when others do it, which is odd because her husband Bill, the former president, was the master of schmoozing and convincing various voting blocks that he genuinely “felt their pain.”

At a recent town hall meeting in front of a large African-American audience, Hillary attempted to prove that she was sensitive to the needs of the community.

Clinton said that “Stand Your Ground” laws need to be “rewritten” and that drawing a gun has become a “knee-jerk reaction.”

“Yes, there is a role in extreme situations to defend yourself and defend your home, but unfortunately what we’ve seen too much of in the last few years is a spate of people who have reached for a gun before they really figured out what was going on,” she said. “They’ve been much too eager to use that gun. We’ve seen it with policing and we’ve seen it with civilians.”

Clinton went on to say that the current situation with respect to gun ownership is “way out of balance,” and that she “not backing off of this fight” (for tougher gun laws).

“I don’t see any conflict between the legitimate protection of Second Amendment rights and protecting people from gun violence from people who should never have guns in the first place,” she said.

It goes without saying, but Clinton is deeply misguided on gun laws and gun ownership. Stand Your Ground laws have nothing to do with the high-profile, officer-involved shootings that make headlines. Those are a separate and distinct issue that have more to do with police training and protocol. Stand Your Ground laws, by contrast, simply protect the natural right of self-defense that all people — white, black, brown, yellow, purple, whatever — possess. But if one wanted to, one could argue that SYG laws are even more important for those who live in high-crime areas. Clinton should be standing up for Stand Your Ground — not maligning it.

As it relates to her comment about gun laws being “way out of balance,” Clinton must not realize that crime rates are at record lows while, at the same time, concealed carry rights are at record highs. All 50 states now have some form of concealed-carry issuing standard on the books. Therefore, arguing for tougher gun laws is like arguing that we should adopt the very conditions that yielded the high-crime days of the late 80s early 90s. It makes little sense.

***

On an tangential note, below is video from a presidential debate in 1992.  Clinton doesn’t come out and say “I feel your pain” in it, I don’t think, but his response and engagement with the woman who asked the question was nothing short of fantastic.  Hillary just can feign that authenticity.  When she tries she comes across as batty and awkward.

Man, Bill was a smooth criminal back then. I would have never voted for the guy (I couldn’t at the time anyways, I was about 10 years old), but I can certainly see why others were hoodwinked.

LOL – here we go again. Hill o’ beans leads the attack. Yup, after it has already started. I’m a shooter – at paper targets – don’t have anything beyond a bolt action rifle; don’t feel the panic need for a military look alike. Used to hunt, but have become a Bambi lover, besides I wouldn’t feed my family – everyone is grown and gone. I doubt there is anything g like gun control that could be logically initiated in the USA. Frankly, those folks in the “five” neighborhoods of Chicago should all have a CCL and a gun to back it up. The issue is a social one and definitely a racial one, Black on Black crime. Don’t hear that phrase used much anymore. Hill o’ beans feels she can make another try for the Oval office and use the Black vote to get there. Seems odd, “let’s pull everyone together, but just use a racial vote to get there.” We’re a mess because we think we are. We’re OK, but patients is not our virtue.

Everyone who works for a honest living is a slave to the American government. No more, no less. We may have freedom but it does come at a cost. If the DC master’s get their way we will become even more enslaved. A time is coming when they control our every movement, item bought, item sold, what we can eat, drink (Bloomberg) and second we spend in this country. We so desperately need term limits to weed out the lifers whose only goal is to get re-elected, not to do the job that they were elected to do. Sadly(?) the only way that we will ever get the limits changed will have to come through armed insurrection because the criminals control the prison and they also set the rules that it is run by.
I see a great homemade sign every Sunday when I leave Church, it states “vote for somebody better,” the problem is who is really better? Anyone? No one………..

Hillary has the top two prerequisites for a politician. A degree in lying and a lobotomy. I hope that she will be put in prison where she belongs along with Obama and a slew of other politicians.

So basically, she told her voting base “If you elect me, I’ll make sure you’re safe to continue committing crimes against the law abiding freedom loving people who didn’t vote for me. That on top of the current political slavery system of votes in exchange for amnesty and welfare.” In contrast to the opinion I just typed, I agree with the opening statement. Hey, I’m not perfect.

The history of chattel slavery spans thousands of years across the whole globe and continues to this very day. The US inherited the institution of slavery from Britain as a colony and almost destroyed the Nation in a war to end the regional institution. Chattel slavery may have been abolished but other forms of exploitation flourish and the Clinton’s and the BLM movement seem to have only one point of reference. Did the Clintons fight for any labor rights before MFN status was granted to China? Of course not…

BLM gains momentum as NWA is celebrated at the box office.

Take away those guards and put in down town New York or LA let her walk to where ever, live in the same area that normal people live or how about a neighbor with Gangs or Drug dealers on ever corner. She how security she would feel! Get a life. Wake up America your vote could lose you what little Freedom you have to choose the way you want to live.

Stand your ground and the castle doctrine are the two best laws ever written.
The thought of that pig sucking up to the thugs for votes makes it imperative that she never gets her lard ass back into the white house.

Damn Joe!! So you label all black people thugs?

This evil creature(Hillary) should not be given a second of air time, except for when they announce her prison sentence. And that the key for her cell has been lost. She is in the same boat with Obama as far as I am concerned. That is….the very sound of her/his voice makes me absolutely nauseous!! Anyone else who has or would have done what she has would be in jail or on trial already. This double standard makes me nauseous also. I’m going to the bathroom…..

Both Clintons are very physical in debate, reinforcing their statements with hand thrusts and gestures. Bill did this seemingly without thinking, just expressing the passion with which he felt his opinion. I believed he believed what he said.

By contrast Hillary forgot she was withing stabbing distance of the black people she was trying to impress, and I bet the fellow on the right thought he was going to lose an eye. It is plain Hillary did not listen, because she gave a stock “say nothing” response, when a reasoned answer was called for. I did not feel any support for the people who were talking to her, just a wish they would go away. I have the impression Hillary doesn’t like debate as it brings out her weakest side, that of logically constructing a convincing argument. There was more than a hint of desperation in her actions.

I remember Bill visiting New Zealand and being photographed beside a Southland signpost that read “Gore” one way, and “Clinton” the other. I’d have a beer with him. Hillary can f*** off.
