The Honcho Tactical Triple-Barreled 12 Gauge by Charles Daly - SHOT Show 2019

The Honcho Tactical Triple has three barrels. It’s amazing it only weighs 6 pounds with all that steel.

There’s nothing better than a side-by-side double-barreled shotgun. Erm, I mean, there’s nothing better than an over/under shotgun. Well, if you’re like me and you just can’t make up your mind, then Charles Daly’s new Honcho Tactical Triple might be just the thing for you.

The Honcho Tactical Triple-Barreled 12 Gauge by Charles Daly - SHOT Show 2019

Chambered for 2 3/4″ or 3″ shells, or you can get it in .410.

Three Barrels

It’s built as you’d expect a double-barreled or over/under to be built, except that it’s both. Three barrels, and three shots, all chambered in 12 gauge or you can get it in .410. It breaks open to extract all three shells at once. Work the single trigger three times to fire all three barrels.

Pistol Grips

The Honcho Tactical Triple is a short shotgun. The barrels are 18.5 inches long and the 12ga weighs just 6 pounds. It’s available with either the rounded pirate grip or the standard pistol grip. The grips and forends are solid walnut covered in rubber for positive grip in all situations. The pistol grip is checkered, while the pirate grip has scallops for your fingers. It’s also got a Picatinny rail under the barrels at the front for all manner of accessories–certainly a light, but maybe a bayonet would be appropriate, too.

Is that pic rail able to be removed?

  • AK Ahole March 29, 2019, 10:57 am

Rich guy is overcompensating for something

  • Fred Gasparino February 6, 2019, 12:06 pm

3 barrels so it has an improved cylinder, modified and full choke? This is sarcasm

  • Robert Campbell February 6, 2019, 11:11 am

    Yeah, sure…..just because….who wouldn’t?

  • Michael February 6, 2019, 12:55 am

Just wish they would someone would make a double barrel, double trigger short barrel 12 gauge,i would pay the price if it was legal with the BATF.

    • Bobby Sather February 6, 2019, 12:12 pm

I have Falcon-Dickson double barrel 18.2 inch barrel and also have the longer barrel also. Great gun.

  • Scotty Gunn February 5, 2019, 7:19 pm

    Look-a $1300 club.

  • Tommy Barrios February 5, 2019, 5:37 pm

This gonna end up like the Auto-Mag another expensive toy that will eventually be one those, “Hey Remember, that gun” weapons!

    or

SOMEONE will make one like it, at 1/4 the price and it’ll be the next 6.5 Creedmore phenomenon!

  • blg February 5, 2019, 5:10 pm

$1300 and it can do what that a pump or semi auto shotgun can’t do? (Except hide it under your coat.)

  • Hondo February 5, 2019, 3:18 pm

It has the cool factor if you like weird shit , but it’s price prohibitive for me.

I can certainly get a better firearm for that price.

  • Ejharb February 5, 2019, 2:51 pm

Now we need a pepperbox shotgun. If I had a grand 2 laYing around I’d buy this!

    • frank massey February 6, 2019, 8:17 pm

multi boor shoot , shoot guns like this have been around for years , this is only a restocking , and chamber of a old gun

  • Robert Silcott February 5, 2019, 12:48 pm

Can\’t justify the cost. I\’d rather have an 870 and use the savings for shells.

  • Awesome Bill from Dawsonville February 5, 2019, 12:29 pm

The honcho? As in Mike Honcho? Ricky Bobby would be so proud right now.

  • Mike in a Truck February 5, 2019, 12:05 pm

Put a stock on it, make one barrel 30-06 and I might be interested. Just the thing for hunting driven tiger from the back of an elephant.Oh well-I can dream.

  • Rangemaster11B February 5, 2019, 11:11 am

A Charles Daly ANYTHING fo $1300?

  • Steven Varner February 5, 2019, 11:09 am

    I want to see it.

  • Curby Keith February 5, 2019, 10:55 am

I’ll take the Mossberg 590 Shockwave in 20ga for $359.

  • Mike February 5, 2019, 9:27 am

The Mossberg options have more capacity, weigh less, and are considerably less expensive……….what’s the attraction?

  • William Jung February 5, 2019, 9:20 am

This is a re hash of an older weapon, the chiappa ‘Triple Threat’. It came out back in 2014 and it had the option of a full stock that could be taken off and used in pistol grip only fashion, minus the tac rail or the .410 option. msrp was around around the same price too.

  • Jeremy Haynes February 5, 2019, 8:33 am

$1,200 seems steep for a safe trophy that will never be shot unless your a hole brother in law visits and you want to watch him loose some teeth trying to shoot 10 gauge shells out of this thing. Hard pass

  • Jim February 5, 2019, 8:22 am

If it had a regular shotgun butt stock I would be interested

    • Eric May 4, 2019, 6:29 pm

The model called the Triple Threat is just like this but with a normal stock. As best I can tell, it is still in production and available.

  • johnnyraygun February 5, 2019, 8:03 am

It is true, there is a sucker born every minute…. . 6 lbs with all of the weight in front of the trigger. when you have blown your three shot wad, one would then need to surrender. If I need a shotgun, for home defense, I would take a 20 gauge with 10 round extender. Of course there are some 20+round shotguns, that certainly would be a better choice. Yes it looks cool, but put a stock, not a handle.

    • WHH May 18, 2020, 6:44 am

I bought one for $760! I put a full stock on it and transform it into a practical defensive weapon

  • Christopher Kennedy February 5, 2019, 7:39 am

Does it come with a leather jacket and sunglasses?

    • Fred Gasparino February 6, 2019, 12:03 pm

Yes! great comment. For that price it should

  • BigUn February 5, 2019, 7:39 am

I really like this triple-barreled shotgun. Of course there are things everyone would want differently.

First thing, this needs to have the capability of 3-1/2″ shells for 12-ga.

The rail needs to be attached with screws so it can be removed should the owner want to do this. It may be.

Why the 18-1/2″ barrel? If you are going for short, why not 16″? I know the rules governing a SBS (short barreled shotgun) (I made that up) and the minimum length barrel is 18″. Just don’t know why it is different for a shotgun than for a rifle.

    The 10-ga option would be a butt-kicker!!

Nonetheless, I would love to have one….but not for anywhere near $1300.

    • frank massey February 6, 2019, 7:16 pm

under 18 ” is not legal in most states.

  • Keith K Kautz February 5, 2019, 7:25 am

Way to expensive for a home defense gun.

  • William Reed February 5, 2019, 7:16 am

    Hard pass

  • Ted Robinson February 5, 2019, 6:29 am

Will this pass muster at the Canadian border? The barrels are 18 1/2″ long.

  • Samuel Kincaid February 5, 2019, 6:00 am

cc also [email protected] infor on
The Honcho Tactical Triple from Charles Daly’s MSRP is $1,299 chambered for either 12ga or .410 and it’s available now.

  • John Gudynowski February 5, 2019, 5:53 am

Very cool home defence gun. This gun has that wow factor.

  • J smith February 5, 2019, 5:09 am

I love it, just what I don’t need, exactly why I want one.

Would have liked to see some video shooting it. Patters at standard distances, etc…

Can the rail be removed? The rail is tacky.

  • James W Lowder February 5, 2019, 4:45 am

Probably not legal in California. All the good stuff is illegal here.

    • Norm Fishler February 5, 2019, 10:24 am

Then why are you still there?

    • Arnold Sanders February 5, 2019, 10:46 am

if it is less than 20″ then yep, illegal.

  • Bill Hindin February 5, 2019, 4:38 am

How about one with a butt stock with a speed feed addition.

  • william ramirez February 5, 2019, 4:04 am

I would love to get more info on the 3 barrel 12 gauge…. Im interested in purchasing this honcho shotgun.

  • Mtchell Maxberry February 5, 2019, 3:59 am

I want one in 10 gauge

  • Mtchell Maxberry February 5, 2019, 3:58 am

    I want one in 10 gauge !

  • Oxy Kid February 5, 2019, 3:12 am

I like the 3 barrel shotgun, just don’t like the hand grips. Nothing said about a stock for this gun. Too bad. I would be over at my chosen gun store to buy one, …if…

OK, You say, but it’s for self defense/home protection, etc, so you want something short. Sorry, that is what my 45 or 9 is for.

And I am sure not going to try and hide that shotgun in my car, or carry it under my shorts (In the summertime!) Yes, I do have a CWP for my state!

:::SIGH::: If only it had a stock………

    • Jason Bostick February 5, 2019, 7:06 am

It’s called the Chiappa Triple Threat or CHarles Daly Triple Crown. Odds are you’ll never see one on the shelf of your LGS, but they’re easy enough to find online.

I’d take a pump gun with double the capacity and the ability to reload without rendering the gun unusable over this any day.

    • TMJ February 5, 2019, 9:23 am

Then go check out the Triple Crown and Triple Threat from Chaippa. It has been around for years, and has “tacticool” and sporting options, with stocks.
