Crazy Footage Shows Massive Gun Heist in Houston Gun Store

Current Events Max Slowik This Week

The ATF has arrested three suspects in a fast, coordinated burglary at a Houston gun store that emptied a wall of rifles and a display case of guns. Police report as many as 10 people were part of the crew.

According to local news sources, many of the guns have already been recovered, but that authorities have not shared how many, and the total number of stolen guns is still unknown. The crew stole more guns than they could carry, dropping firearms on the floor as they made their way out.

The local police and the ATF estimate that as many as seven or more thieves remain at large, and that they got away with at least 50 firearms. The crew worked quickly to carry out as many firearms as possible before the police could respond.

The store was burglarized in the early morning. The crew chained the shop’s burglary bars to a truck to pull them down. The entire heist took about two minutes.

Surveillance video shows the crew working quickly, with a choreographed plan that focused on specific parts of the shop. Everyone involved wore concealing clothes and masks throughout the burglary.

They first smashed open the windows, pulled out the door then charged straight for the firearms. They used hammers to break open the main windows and display cases. After the initial escape, the crew swapped vehicles, leaving the crime truck about a block from the scene.

“It takes a lot of nerve to do that,” said Jerry Wilson, who works next door, to ABC News.

Police are still searching for the remaining suspects and have asked that anyone with knowledge about the break-in step up and contact the Houston Crime Stoppers. Tips can are kept anonymously and any tips that lead to arrests can be rewarded up to $5,000. For more information visit https://www.crime-stoppers.org/.

Just as it the responsibility of an individual gun owner to secure his/her weapons so it is the responsibility of the gun dealer.
Ultimately nothing will stop a motivated thief 100% of the time, but a store front with cameras, large but barred windows and a cheese dick security gate on a glass door is just plain half assed. Would you leave you firearm on the front seat of your car just because you had the windows rolled up, the doors locked and your alarm activated, NO. But it is secure right? REALLY?

I could not live with myself knowing that I had that many, or any stolen firearms for that matter out on the street in the wrong hands. At least one if not more of these guns will kill or wound someone. Every time that happens our 2nd Amendment rights become less of a right and more likely to be infringed upon.
We as gun owners need to do more than just the normal status quo when it comes to firearm security and safety. We have a profound responsibility to ourselves as legal gun owners as well as to the rest of society. These “smash and grab” thefts are just one more reason for the liberal anti gun Nazi’s to limit personal gun ownership and push for further gun control laws.

They fixed the firearm security and safety issues in the UK pretty well by confiscation and limitation. Do we really need to give the limp dick liberals any more of a reason?

Very organized. Wonder if it was sanctioned by Holder ?

  • Cadeyrn March 4, 2016, 10:17 pm

Tell me one more time how gangs aren’t the problem?

    • 95 cobra March 5, 2016, 4:12 pm

Exactly.. they want to stop crime they got to deal with bullshit already. Build one big prison out in the desert and stuff every piece of shit gang member in it..

Why hasn’t the police released what nationality these punks were? Does anyone suspect that they might be “Illegals” who entered this country on BO’s free passes? Hopefully, Trump will end this CRAP!

  • Robert March 4, 2016, 1:40 pm

Friends of Eric Holder, I would imagine.

Looks like a put up job by the Feds. to further the governments push to get our guns. They looks to military for a bunch a street gang members. I think I recognized Obama in the red hoody. Remember over 170 million men woman and children were murdered by there government after they lost the right to bear arm and defend them selves. America is not going to be counted in that number.

    • Tom Ingle March 4, 2016, 5:46 pm

how about insurance scam? way too easy. why aren’t these handguns not put in a safe at night.

  • donald comfort March 4, 2016, 11:23 am

I am sure Billary and Bo Bo in the W.H. are now lamenting before cameras how better background checks along with the implementation of just a couple hundred new Gun Grabber laws would have prevented this incident.

  • Fb March 4, 2016, 11:15 am

As much of a pain it is, I personally would store all my inventory in safes and install a very loud alarm system. If not, $&@? heads will eventually rob you.
Security bars at the entrance is like a security gate/fence at an apartment complex. Not enough.

  • JT March 4, 2016, 10:59 am

They need to catch them and execute them within 30 days in front of their peers. It’s the only way to stop this crap. Unfortunate our government and the politic do not have any backbone to do what needs to be done.

  • Bill Proffitt March 4, 2016, 10:50 am

This video confirms – and studies have already concluded – this is how criminals get their guns.

But some stupid politicians continue to believe that more gun laws will somehow keep guns out of the hands of criminals.

  • PJ March 4, 2016, 10:27 am

Pardon my profiling but these robbers look like MINORITIES!!!!!
Some advice if you are going to rob a store , don’t wear shorts that exposes your legs,
and don’t wear pants that sag. Kind of a give away as to your race.

    • Cretins Bezoar March 4, 2016, 11:59 am

Well it is Texas and I don’t see any cowboy hats so…you’re probably right!

    • edward March 4, 2016, 12:59 pm

You’re right PJ, these thugs are easy to identify as young blacks but the question is what are they going to do with the guns, start a revolution for Obama to declare martial law?

      • Bill Winfrey March 5, 2016, 2:22 am

They’re going to be part of the 10,000 men Farakahn has ordered to go out and kill every Police officerOfficer they come in contact with.
Would that make him a terrorist if they carry it out?

  • George March 4, 2016, 10:05 am

Well I hope they catch them all. From what I’ve seen about Texas they won’t get off with their hands slapped. In Washington State they kiss there asses when they let them go.

  • 3%fromtheburgh March 4, 2016, 9:40 am

Can you imagine how many guns they could have gotten away with if they didn’t have to hold their pants up while they made their get away?

    • Martin March 6, 2016, 11:57 am

      That’s funy

  • Chad J. March 4, 2016, 8:46 am

And like I commented on the other thread about the SBR stolen from a gun show, isn’t it curious how the media really plays up these incidents and stays quiet or relatively quiet about the National Guard and US Army Reserve Armories that were burglarized in 2014 and 2015, and from which REAL MACHINEGUNS were taken, along with select-fire rifles, and semi-auto pistols- and of course, the CONSTANT, DAILY thefts from federal agents and local law enforcement officers. In Albuquerque alone, for DECADES the Albuquerque P.D. Evidence Room was LOOTED out of between $75,000- $250,000 in cash; plus jewelry, gold coins; GUNS; drugs; and even Evidence against police officers in local pending cases. According to the Albuquerque Journal, March 2, 2006, Page A1, one of the prime suspects, a detective Robbin Burge was identified, but our media, which is notoriously cooperative with corrupt local government, has not updated us on any evidence, other than the District Attorney, Kari A. Brandenburg, Patron Saint of Rogue Cops, proclaiming that there was “insufficient evidence” to proceed with even a Special Grand Jury Hearing. And of course, don’t forget: FAST & FURIOUS, even a New Mexico Mayor and Police Chief were implicated in that mess, but they didn’t do very much jail time at all- figures!

Next time get a longer chain with hooks on the ends.

  • imnevergivingin March 4, 2016, 8:16 am

wow, So Mr. Blumenthal, explain again how tougher gun laws for us law abiding gun owners are going to keep weapons off the street? How making me jump through hoops to get a gun for protection is going to stop gun violence?

    • burton March 4, 2016, 9:31 am

Requiring gun dealers to keep an inventory, requiring them to make a good-faith effort at reporting thefts, and inspecting them more often would be a good start. It’s nice that they reported this one and caught some of the thieves, but like the poster talking about thefts from guard armories, too many go unreported.

      • bob March 4, 2016, 10:39 am

Federal law already requires FFLs to keep detailed inventory lists. Common sense and insurance companies require FFLs to make a good faith effort to report stolen firearms. More frequent inspections is the only one of your suggestions that isn’t already fact. Since the ATF is only empowered to inspect FFLs and NOT the US military your post seems rather pointless.

      • Captain Bob March 4, 2016, 10:39 am

By Federal Law dealers have to keep a detailed inventory and they have to report any and all thefts immediately. Some, but not all, states require citizens to do the same. As far as the military, I don’t know their reporting requirements.

        • Army Guy March 4, 2016, 2:04 pm

Pretty simple, full serial number inventory when the arms room opens, and full inventory before it closes, with recorded signatures to the fact that the inventory was completed.

  • Dave March 4, 2016, 6:59 am

I wonder if they passed their common sense universal background checks?

  • Joseph March 4, 2016, 6:17 am

Didn’t we see this same bunch cleaning out a convenience store in Ferguson ?

  • Mark Tercsak March 4, 2016, 5:32 am

And they say Racial and Hoodie Profiling will not work ?
Need to hunt these Sons of Bitches down and put them in the cages they belong in.

Every state needs to adress gun theft, You steal a gun or guns you should be charged with attempted murder , why else would you steal a gun, and the plus 5 minimum years in that cage.

If someone is murdered by a firearms you stole , would not matter if you pulled the trigger or not, you should be charged with capitol murder.

    • joe March 4, 2016, 9:32 am

      you make too much sense….beware

  • NavyVet1959 March 4, 2016, 4:15 am

Obviously, we need a waiting period on *hammers*…

    • Mike March 4, 2016, 6:51 am

also a waiting period on trucks and hoodies as well.
I guess with AG Holder gone these thugs are back to stealing firearms. No more government giveaways.

      • JimS March 4, 2016, 10:02 am

You both forgot the waiting period on purchasing chains.
