Groom’s Cake Gets Extra Attention for Hunting Theme

A groom’s cake is getting high and low marks on Reddit’s “weddingshaming” sub for its hunting theme. The cake depicts a bride in a gown dragging a man in camo dress off to his fate above a crest that reads “The hunt is over.”

It seems many of the readers are mistaking the groom’s cake for a proper wedding cake. The cake was made by Graceful Cake Creations.

“A groom’s cake typically depicts a hobby or sport the groom is interested in,” said Graceful Cake Creations owner Grace Tari, to Fox News. “The groom is a hunter hence the theme for the cake and the bride has caught her man so she is no longer looking for a husband. Just a fun play on words.”

“You can find many variations of this theme on Pinterest,” she said. “I myself am not a hunter nor do I endorse the killing of animals but as a business owner of a custom bakery I keep an open mind when my clients meet with me to design their wedding cakes, birthday cakes, etc.”

According to Tari hunting is a popular theme for groom’s cakes.

“Am I to believe she … murdered her groom?” asks one commenter. “And we’re supposed to think this is funny or cute? Props to whoever baked or decorated the cake though. Terrible concept. Flawless execution.”

“I took this as a double entendre of her ‘bagging’ him, and his carefree hunting days being over,” wrote another commenter. “Hence her dragging him out of the woods and taking his shotgun away. Still not a message I would want for my wedding, but I don’t think it’s a murderous one.”

“Remember, if you get married that means you never get to have fun and you don’t get any hobbies,” said another.

“As someone who loves hunting I would like this cake if it had the same theme but the topper was both back to back with guns, like a hunting trip together,” read another comment.

“The groom doesn’t look dead, she’s just dragging him out of the woods for the wedding,” reads one of the last comments. “I like the cake!”

August, September and October are popular wedding months that overlap with a lot of hunting seasons across the U.S. It stands to reason it might take a little extra effort to get some grooms out of their stands and into a suit when there’s game for the taking.

Anyone who objects to the cake needs to STFU. This couple decided what they wanted and what it meant to them. They obviously has a sense of humor and the ability laugh and not take everything so seriously. All this bodes well for them as a couple.
Too bad they had to give their $$ to an anti hunting hypocrite. She doesn’t endorse sportsmen humanely taking game but is fine with the factory farm system that provides her bakery with eggs and butter. Same goes for the meat she most likely buys at the store every week.

A picture of the bride and groom would have been nice. Even so, it is a really great wedding cake.
