Husband Lands Head Shot on Robber Assaulting His Wife

Current Events Defensive Use of Firearms Jordan Michaels This Week

It’s the classic Hollywood scenario: the Villain holds the Woman at gunpoint, and the Hero takes him down with a well-aimed shot in the kisser.

That cliché became all too real for a couple in Houston yesterday when two armed men tried to rob and assault the wife at gunpoint.

The two men jumped the woman after she pulled her Suburban into her driveway around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night, according to local media. They grabbed her purse and tried to shove and drag her into her house, but they didn’t realize her husband was in the home as well.

The man heard the screams of his wife, who is three months pregnant, grabbed a handgun of his own and began shooting at his wife’s assailants. The husband struck one of the men in the head, but the other ran away, shooting at the couple as he fled.

Police found the other suspect lying in blood on the driveway. He was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Officials are still searching for the suspect who got away, and they have yet to release the names of any of the parties involved.

The husband’s shot, however dangerous or heroic, represents just one of the millions of defensive gun uses that take place in the U.S. each year.  Florida State University researcher Gary Kleck released in May a previously-stifled CDC report that indicates over 2 millions DGUs took place in 1998 alone. The vast majority are far less dramatic than this Houston incident, but many are no less life-saving.

Here are a few we’ve published just in the last few months:

Have you ever had to use your firearm for self-defense? If so, let us know in the comments! We’d love to hear your story.

It’s so sad that the predator went to the hospital in critical condition.

    Why, oh why……..

……did anyone waste medical supplies and effort to save him?

    • Grant July 27, 2018, 12:48 pm

They save him and he or his family will probably turn around and sue the shooter.
      It’s a crazy world-

    • C.Aldridge July 27, 2018, 2:33 pm

Yeah, the probably would have arrested the guy for having the gun to protect himself and his wife.

I also liked the reporter’s personal teleprompter. Really? Can’t they even pretend to NOT be “phoning it in”?

The media would have you believe that this is an extremely rare occurance, guns never save lives. How much press is this story going to get.

This classic Hollywood scenario is quite interesting and interesting, I like it very much.

  • German Guy July 23, 2018, 11:04 pm

Oh sweet irony… there is a “Dead End” sign right at the end of the homeowner’s driveway. If only the criminals knew how to read, like when people put up “Gun Free Zone” signs. There would be no gun crime if they read those signs. Duhhhh

A shot to the criminal’s head while the criminal is holding a hostage as a shield requires nerves of steel, especially in such a high adrenaline scenario. Here’s your hero of the day, folks!

    • Bob July 27, 2018, 8:47 am

I didn’t read anywhere where it says she was being used as a shield. Do you have another information source?
