Holsters that incorporate an extra mag offer an easier way to maintain control of extra ammo.
Kydex holsters are all held to the same standard. As consumers, we expect fit and finish to be on par with holsters we purchase from big name manufactures like Blackhawk, SafariLand, and Fobus. But what most consumers don’t take into account is the fact that those assembly-line holsters are actually different beasts all together. Injection molded and overbuilt, some big-name holsters are worlds above their Kydex counter parts.
G-Code holsters (in partnership with Travis Haley of Haley Strategic) has developed a new brand of Kydex holsters and, in doing so, may have just bridged the gap between the predictability of injection molded holsters and the Kydex holsters we all love to design and run.
The INCOG
The INCOG holster is built with comfort and adjustability in mind. Height of carry, cant, and modularity all play a role in the design–making it a system that you can fit to your method of carry.
The INCOG holster is primarily designed for appendix carry, and is built as a wrap around holster. It features a full or half back cut that allows the user to chose how much (if any) slide touches their skin. It also has a dual attachment system to allow the use of a magazine holder or Mag Caddy as well as the use of a second belt clip.
The suede takes the edge off the Kydex and keeps it from shifting around.
Beyond its cut, and impressive modularity, the holster is wrapped in suede. This helps wick sweat away from the body, protect your skin from chaffing, and also brings a custom look and feel to the rig. The holster is available in black, grey, and green Kydex. Camouflage suede is also available.
The holster uses a few special pieces of hardware unique to the G-Code holsters. The holster itself is molded from a hefty piece of .08 thick Kydex. All of the holes drilled in the Kydex are fitted with eyelets.
The holster utilizes what G-Code calls the MOJO riser. The Mojo riser is a small piece of machined aluminum that allows for adjustability in both height of carry and angle of carry. They are available in brushed aluminum, black, gold, orange and red. Sitting atop the MOJO is a patent pending injection molded belt clip.
The belt clips use a negative angle to force the gun against the user’s body and allow for a quick but rock solid mount to your belt. These are some bad-ass clips.

Running the INCOG is easy. The holster rides behind the waistband and close to the body helping it to stay out of sight. When you wear the rig in the appendix position, the holster and Mag Caddy ride low enough to stay secure but don’t cause any pressure points on your leg. In all reality, the only time you notice the gun is when you go to sit down or bend over at a sharp angle.

Wearing the holster in the winter will be even easier. The suede lining and full back keep all cold surfaces off your body. Moving into a formal setting, the INCOG is designed to accommodate a tucked in shirt–only showing the belt clip. The system shines for anyone who might need to wear a gun with a suit.
The small size of the Glock 42 and the low-profile design of the INCOG the holster easily disappears under a t-shirt. The suede lining allows you to wear the gun without an undershirt in the summer months and even helps wick sweat away from your skin while you work.

On the range, the holster performs above par. It holds its form like an Injection molded holster, while maintaining that custom look and feel found with Kydex. The INCOG allows for quick draws, secure lock up, and easy re-holstering. In all reality, I never expected the INCOG holster to get a lot of range use. Generally when I get to the range, my everyday carry gun gets left in the truck. My work guns come out (along with what ever I happen to be testing), but given its low profile and comfort, I tend to keep it on while I’m at the range regardless of what I’m testing–even when I’m wearing other holsters.
In the end
The INCOG works–in fact, for my Glock 42 it’s my go to method of carry. The holster retails for $69.95 by itself, and $112.20 with the Mag Caddy. They generally take at least 4 weeks to ship.
