Standard Manufacturing, a company that focuses on traditional gunsmithing and modern manufacturing alike, is proud to announce a folding pocket pistol of their own, the Switch Gun. Like their S333 Thunderstruck, the Switch Gun is a compact rimfire revolver chambered for .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire.
While it’s a bit more conventional than the S333 Thunderstruck, it isn’t by much. At its heart, the Switch Gun is a 5-shot single-action mini revolver, but Standard Manufacturing has combined a holster grip with a quick-deploy switch mechanism that lets users flick the gun open with the push of a button on the left side of the grip.
When folded the black polymer grip completely shrouds the trigger, so it can’t be pulled without first deploying the grip. The grip is also larger and longer than other folding mini revolver grips, in order to give users more control when shooting.
And even though it’s a simple, time-tested action, the design is pretty modern with square lines giving it a utilitarian outline, folded and unfolded. The revolver frame is a block of CNC-machined stainless steel, with a slab-sided pentagon-shaped cylinder.
With a short, .88-inch barrel, the Switch Gun isn’t exactly tailored for home defense, but with a loaded weight of just 9 ounces, it can be concealed just about anywhere by anyone. The sights are also extremely minimalist with a trough cut into the topstrap and nothing more.

Overall the Switch gun measures in at 2.12 inches tall, 3.75 inches long and .75 inches at the cylinder. Like any extremely small handgun, it will take practice to use. But chambered for .22 Magnum, at the very least, practice ammunition isn’t all that expensive.
Whether it’s for extremely deep concealment, pocketable backup, or just the novelty of it all, the Switch Gun will certainly draw attention. Priced at $449 the Switch Gun is a little more expensive than other mini-revolvers, but it’s not like other mini-revolvers, either.

US Military Spec Ops for 14 years. 3 tours Afghanistan and 1 Iraq. After firing the Switch I’m satisfied it will perform reliably in Close Quarters Battle as a last resort. A civilian with training on the Switch pistol should be confident of their safety.
I just bought a Switch. Are there sights I can add to the pistol for better accuracy?
I purchased a switch gun 22 mag,however the cylinder does not loaded 22 mwr ,it does even with 22 long rifle. the exit hole are too small. the barrel is larger than the cylinder holes
one omment on those that THINK .22 rounds are too small to hurt anyone..NOPE just the opposite is actually true because this is a less powerful bullet the chances of it coming out of the other side is QUITE low so what happens? the bullet will tend to scramble brains in a head shot a close up 9mm would PROB come out of the head making possible to survive..no chance if hit in the head w a .22 round not sure why people think the bigger the bullet the more deadly that CAN be true but dont short sell any .22 round for reasons ive just mentioned

I don’t know about the Cosco site, but I ordered one and paid $59.00 for it. Got it a couple days ago. It took a while because it shipped from China and had no problems clearing customs. I want to shoot 50gr HP . May need to shoot 40 gr.
I’ll do a few test fires with both for accuracy.

I find it interesting, but the price is out there. I would be very interested in this as a 9 mm 4 shot with a 1″ barrel. As I look at the cylinder it appears to have enough meat to handle .9 mm drill out than with the shorter cyiinder a 1″ barrel would work.
Would kick a little more but not enough to affect 3 yard center mass shots. It’s not a gun fight just a backup or self defense piece.
Where this really shines is contact shots. A lady could with a little practice have this ready and blast a ballroom in the peeps chest cavity.

Good Lord ! One more gun like this and Standard Manufacturing will end up like US FireArms Manufacturing. Does any one remember the Zip 22 ? Like the title of the Tube video says, “USFA Zip 22: How A Garbage Gun Destroyed A Good Company.” Yeah, like I said, looks like financial troubles for SM. Why don’t we ask Dougie over at the now-defunct USFA why he stopped making beautiful revolvers and started advertising toys !

If you’re going to make a small caliber gun the Magnum is more penetrating than the LR no matter how small the barrel is. I wouldn’t want to get shot with either one though.
So is this an assassins HIT gun, as anything .22 has little stopping power? The MAG just gives it more charge to go THRU the target to hit others behind the target. So the store customer must sneak up to the bad guy’s head to insure a stopping shot with this inaccurate super-short-barell .22 ? Otherwise this .22 is a toy that will only get the shooter killed due to over confidence. And WOW at this price – I’ll pass.
A 3-shot .32/.380 would be far better with some stopping power.
Cute novelty but the ballistics would be terrible for a .22 WMR in that short a barrel. You might cauterize the BG from the flame or make him go deaf, but likely not much else. Seems smarter to carry a Keltec P-32 with 8 rounds of center-fire and less weight of 7 oz. Besides, who wants to dink with a flip-open switch under stress??
Would like to see a test shoot. How does it perform, what’s the trigger pull like, how easy to aim and fire accurately? I’m assuming when you cock it the trigger drops down into position but even that isn’t shown here.
The one comment the fellow said . No better then a 22. Anything better then nothing. I’m sure it has more horsepower then a 22 same size. Don’t want to get hit by a 22mag close up.
It would be nice if they had an interchangeable .22LR cylinder. Practice ammo would be cheaper…

22 mag out of a short barrel like that isn’t much more effective than 22 LR.

I got one. Haven’t fired it yet. Probably next week before I test it. Gonna shoot 40-50 gr HP. I got to do more reading on it. It would be a great backup to my 380 Bodyguard. Or to shoot snakes .
I like the contours of the cylinder but the overall profile of this weapon is too boxy. The flip out switch is a neat idea but, much like with assisted open knives, I would worry about the grip flipping open in my pocket. I have owned several mini-revolvers, NAA and Casull, and the .22 WMR with the flip out grips… it is not that the recoil is too much, but it is awfully unwieldy in that oddly-shaped package. Still easier to hold onto than those smaller grips. I wonder how the boxier grip and shorter barrel will feel in the hand while shooting?
