JPFO: You Might Be A Badge Licker If...

(Editor’s note: This is a syndicated press release from JPFO. We want to make clear that GunsAmerica is not anti-law enforcement. Rather, we are — like the article below makes clear — against people who want the government to be armed exclusively. Most people will get the gist but a few will just read the headline and bitch in the comments section below, saying we’re anti-cop. Not the case!)

Some Americans–and you might be one of them–misled by so-called “news” media, the public school system and the common narrative, have been led to believe guns are bad, and even evil, which is completely false. *Guns have social utility and public value.

These same folks believe “authorities” should be heavily armed. It’s illogical, inconsistent, even irrational. Yet it has become an emblem of so-called liberal progressivism and the democrat’s platform for the U.S. presidency. Disarm the public, over-arm the overlords.

These folks are badge lickers, convinced guns are OK only if the people holding them wear shiny badges. This dangerous philosophy leads to fascism, socialism and communism, dictatorships you’ve heard about. Oppressive forms of government, unlike our own.

Just like in communist China or Russia, which are mortal enemies of America, they can abuse their subjects, can run amok and murder citizens without consequences, because they have all the weapons and the public is defenseless. Without fully realizing it–

You may be a badge licker if:

•  You want guns to “go away” but still want police with machineguns and body armor;
•  You tell everyone “they should take all the guns away,” but forget “they” remain armed;
•  You feel guns are too dangerous for people to own, but you exclude police and the feds;
•  You feel safe when you see heavily armed police parading around on TV after a spree murder, but feel deep-seated fear when TV airs a close-up of firearms in gun stores;
•  You wish guns had never been invented but are glad police all have plenty of big guns;
•  You want police with guns to come and take guns from your otherwise nice neighbors;
•  You believe red-flag laws will protect you, without realizing they don’t affect criminals.

* Guns are good, save lives, protect you, stop crime, preserve peace and freedom, provide food, defend our shores, deter national threats from foreign enemies, and if guns didn’t exist we would have to defend ourselves with clubs, rocks, sticks and blades, much worse, less effective options. Media hides these facts, which is worse than fake news.

About Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership

JPFO https://www.jpfo.org is America’s most aggressive civil-rights organization, dedicated to destroying the notion of “gun control” as any kind of credible public-policy position. So-called “gun control” does not control guns and doesn’t control criminal behavior. What it does is disarm the innocent, leaving them helpless in the face of criminals, tyrannical governments and genocide. History repeatedly proves this fact. Founded in 1989 by Aaron Zelman as a response to the Holocaust, JPFO speaks with the moral authority and tenacious commitment of survivors of persecution, and knows that surrendering your personal and family safety to government protection courts disaster. “You don’t have to be Jewish to fight by our side, you just have to love liberty.”

    For years I have told people what “The Shadow'” knew has always been true. Evil is in the hearts of man, not in an inanimate object.
    When they reference guns as ‘evil’, I know I’m dealing with an idiot.

    Unfortunately, articles like this appear where 2nd rights are whole-heartedly supported. Preaching to the choir has no effect on the “badge lickers”. No argument with the the piece, just sad it doesn’t appear in a forum read by non-gunners.

    One of the latest mass shootings occurred in the jurisdiction from which I retired after 30 years on the PD, Virginia Beach. A single male City employee walked into his office building with a Glock 21 and a few magazines. The building is located 150 yards from the police precinct building. Officers ran into the building within 3 minutes of the first indication of trouble. They performed to their training in textbook fashion, advancing on and destroying the shooter within minutes. Still, 12 people died. Other than the shooter himself, the only other responsibility for this tragedy lies with the City administration and their prohibition against law abiding (non police) employees being allowed to legally carry while working.

    In my entire career, I can count on one hand the times I was in the right place at the right time to be able to intervene in a violent crime and prevent bloodshed. By an exponentially larger number, I took reports, processed crime scenes and loaded body bags. That’s mostly what cops do. It’s mostly all we’re able to do.

    Nobody gives a damn about a dead drug dealer. I’ll happily wrap that up to clear the case “shooting into occupied clothing”, and enjoy a good lunch afterward…. But if you’re ever a fly on the wall at the crime scene of an innocent victim, I guarantee you’ll hear at least one cop say: “Too bad s/he didn’t have a gun”.

    • Chefbigpapa October 25, 2019, 1:14 pm

      Drug dealer gunned down = misdemeanor murder.

    Schools should be mandated to give specific classes studying the genocide of the last century. There should be precursors in the 7th and 8th grades, and a full on study in 9th, and 10th grades.

    If anyone would know the cost of giving up your freedom and their life it would be a Jew,
    Jew’s are law abiding people and when the nazi’s told them to surrender their gun’s most did so.
    this is a life lesson for all People everywhere: they take your guns they control you! they can do what they want with you.
    This is what the left wing socialist want, TO CONTROL YOU. OPEN YOUR EYE’s, Freedom is not free.
    Question: are the socialist left willing to shed blood to control us? Are you willing to shed blood to preserve Freedom?

    I agree. Already we are seeing the results of some of this… two folks in the Las couple of months, unarmed, shot in their OWN homes. Minding their OWN business.

    Police today are trained with a “kill or be killed” mentality, maybe from consultants just returning from a war zone??

    Their seems to be a breakdown of personal responsibility in our society, and LE is not immune. Create policies that will cover errors in training….

    I am so glad I no longer live in a municipality, but in the sticks, now. The local LEOs all (mostly) are more interested in what u be carrying, than the traffic infraction they pulled u over for. INTERESTED in a GOOD WAY. I have received comments like “ u are the first contact I had today to inform me u are legally carrying, please slow it down a bit, and have a safe day!!” Or “…wow, I wanna get one of those for my BUG, does it handle/point well, u have any reliability issues? BTW, I think u need a verbal warning for 11 over..”

    being a retired officer for past 20 years, a couple of responses come to mind. One) the majority of the time officer deal with the best people at their worst and the worst people at their best. Second) how in the world are the officers to know what to expect given the info received from dispatch and upon arrival at the location of the incident called in , the officer doesn’t know the good from bad. We have a right to be on guard or cautious and are trained to take control. Most of the officers I know are 2A positive and some are not. However, follow the officers directions and comply. You called us. Red flag laws are gun haters dream, get rid of those who are anti bill of rights and anti constitution. the people elected these idiots, vote them out of office. There are only two options for a officer, comply with directions or go to jail. The choice is always yours. one last comment, do not approach a officer with a weapon in your possession leave it in your house.

  • Anrae Godley-Cooper October 25, 2019, 4:40 am

    The real term for the police and Feds should be the “Only Ones” armed is Boot Licker.

  • David October 25, 2019, 4:30 am

    Good, well written, succinct.

    I’m not Jewish, but I love liberty! I stand with you. I have never understood the mindset of Jewish people from the northeast who are so against personal firearms. Heck, I don’t even understand how they can support Democrats.

    • Tom Hart October 25, 2019, 8:43 am

      I’m Jewish, and I’m the only person other than one niece and one nephew in my family that is PRO 2A. The rest are as anti 2A as anyone could be. They all think the government is going to magically save them in their moment of need. Stupid and clueless, is as stupid and clueless does. They have literally tried to tell me what I need, and can and can’t have. They all think it’s about AR15s and hunting.

    I hope you understand why we, who proudly wear the badge, just might find the use of “Badge Licker” as being somewhat OFFEBSIVE !!!

    • RetiredDeputy October 25, 2019, 8:27 am

      You either didn’t read the article or are incapable of grasping what was written. I am a retired LEO who is proud of my service and I have no issue with what was written. It is factual and accurate.

    • perlcat October 25, 2019, 10:57 am

      OP isn’t writing to impugn actual LEO’s. OP wants to point out that these people want the big nanny State to protect them to the point of slavish toadyism without any regard for actual liberty. Trust me, a true badge licker is uncomfortable with guns in the hands of local law enforcement, too. They only want “safe” federal agencies like DOE, FEMA, NPR, and CPS, and the occasional mall cop, (as long as they don’t interfere with a shooter in the commission of their crime — they just want them for a TV interview afterwards.) but NOT INS, USCIS, Federal Marshalls, DEA, or the military. Those nasty agencies actually involved with actual law enforcement or trained to handle weapons make your typical liberal bed wetter, well, wet their bed again.

  • Evan October 25, 2019, 3:14 am

    There are far too many “badge lickers” in the 2A community. Police are not our friends, they are not on our side. While many individual cops are perfectly decent people, police departments as a whole tend to have an “us vs them” mentality – the fact that civilian police refer to non-police as “civilians” – when they themselves are civilians – is rather telling.

    Officer Friendly will likely have zero problem knocking on your door to confiscate your guns. He isn’t about to get fired over refusing to enforce an Orwellian “red flag” law, no matter how specious the grounds for the confiscation. Just because he carries a gun for work doesn’t mean he takes an interest in guns, and much less so gun rights.

    It is true that police are necessary for a society with some semblance of order. But it is also true that they are agents of a government which always strives for more power, and should be viewed with wariness in the best of circumstances, and should never be trusted – they do not have your best interest in mind.

    In dealing with police, be polite, do your best to be non-confrontational (don’t be one of those “sovereign citizen” idiots), but refuse any and all requests and do not volunteer any information unless you have an attorney present and your attorney advises you to. In general, any confrontation with police should be avoided if at all possible.

    Remember, this country was built on a healthy distrust of government authority. Let’s keep that tradition alive and well.

    • Tyrone October 25, 2019, 6:31 am

      Excellent response, one which we all should heed….

    • Dan October 25, 2019, 7:59 am

      Evan,
      That was well said, and true, but I try to avoid lumping all LEOs in the same category, since there is a huge distinction between federal and local LEOs. As it has become clearly obvious, most federal agencies are nothing more than lawless organized crime syndicates.
      They have very little rule of law or accountability, and they think and act like they are above the law.
      Local LEOs are generally not like that, even though there are always some bad apples in every cart.
      Unfortunately, the federal agencies are trying to control, infiltrate and infect the local LE agencies with their lawlessness and militarization by bribes of “funding” and military equipment “donations”.
      Their entire theft program they call “asset forfeiture” is the most blatant example of their lawlessness.
      That should be added to that “You may be a badge licker” list, if you think theft by “asset forfeiture” is OK.
      Even so, local LEOs are generally more likely to not be a lawless organized crime syndicate.
      Although, you are right that they do seem to still have that “us vs. them” attitude, and they forget that they are also civilians, just like most politicians forget that they work for and are paid by we the people, and are supposed to be public servants, not the masters.

      • Old Sailor October 25, 2019, 10:22 am

        Unfortunately, I have to disagree with your comment, “just like most politicians forget that they work for and are paid by we the people, and are supposed to be public servants, not the masters”. Yes, they receive a paycheck from we the taxpayers, but they don’t work for us. They work for the special interest groups in D.C. They didn’t become multi-millionaires on the salary they receive from the taxpayers. It’s the big pharma, MIC, foreign and corporate money that made them rich and to whom they are beholding.

      • Evan October 25, 2019, 11:14 am

        I agree, to an extent. But I think that the bigger distinction is between local departments, not local vs federal. A small town sheriff’s department is a lot more likely to enjoy good relations with the community it polices than a major urban department, and as such is less likely to have an adversarial attitude towards that community, and thus less likely to have all the problems stemming from that. Large departments are, much like the feds, detached from the people they’re supposed to be policing. Look at the constant news stories about incompetence/brutality/various other problems from the NYPD and LAPD.

        It is true, however, that much of federal law enforcement seems to exist solely to violate the rights of citizens, and has no legitimate excuse at all. ATF springs immediately to mind.

        It is also a massive problem that governments at every level – federal, state, and local – have figured out that police can be used as revenue collectors, handing out fines for anything and everything, and being encouraged to do so.

    • David Kent October 25, 2019, 9:47 pm

      When it comes to ‘following orders’ there is also a huge distinction between older, seasoned cops and the young recruits that are coming up now. I know that all of my generation of law enforcement would walk away from the job before going door to door for guns. But many of the younger guys aren’t cut from the same cloth. IMO, it has to do mostly with the difference in training between the two groups. And I’m not just talking about police training. Public schools don’t teach the Constitution anymore. Young people have no appreciation for the genius of it or the importance of it in the success of this country. In my generation, even among high school kids, the Constitution was held in reverence second only to the Bible. That is completely lost now (so is the Bible). Additionally, the poison of ‘social justice’ is being rammed down our kids’ throats by the very same school system. Our country is being set up to be destroyed by a second coming of Hitler, with the full support of our young people. And many of those will be graduates of a new age police academy.
