Kimber K6S DASA
The new Kimber K6S DASA (double action, single action) is the newest addition to the K6S line of revolvers featuring an added double and single action trigger mechanism. Kimber revolvers are well-known for their smooth double action trigger pull and has the most compact 6-round .357 cylinder at just 1.39” wide. The K6S DASA comes with a soft sided case, lock, and user manual.
Kimber uses all steel forged and machined parts for ultimate strength and reliability.The stainless-steel frame, cylinder, and barrel all feature a brushed finish which reduces glare. The entire gun has contoured edges making it easy to draw from your holster. The 3” barrel features an ejector rod shroud, protecting the ejector while eliminating the chance for snagging on clothing or holsters.
A steel blade white dot front sight is pinned to the barrel and accompanied by a serrated dovetailed white dot rear sight. There is a set screw in the center of the rear sight for windage adjustment and the sight edges are also contoured. The hammer and cylinder release both have clean knurling for better grip. A push button style cylinder release allows for single handed manipulation of the cylinder.
The stainless machined cylinder is the smallest 6-round cylinder ever produced making it ideal for concealed carry. An updated design on the bolt window allowed Kimber to reduce the overall width of the cylinder and is further reduced by the milled flats on the outside of the cylinder. It also features recessed chambers, and locks into the frame at both the front and rear of the ejector rod.
The trigger features a deep curve with rounded edges and a smooth face. A smooth trigger surface is ideal when firing double action by letting your finger roll across the face of the trigger instead of dragging on any serrations. Double action trigger weight comes in at 9.5-10 lbs. and 3-3.5 lbs. in single action. Kimber engineers changed the geometry of the sear, hammer, and hammer strut to achieve the legendary smooth double action found in the K6S.
Walnut laminate checkered 3-finger grip panels sandwich the serrated steel back strap. The grips are contoured as well to match the frame. The K6S DASA is available in 2”, 3”, and now 4” (new for 2020) configurations. Kimber also has a limited-edition Texas version featuring vintage scroll work and ivory G10 Texas themed grips.

I’ve got a dasa with the 2 inch grips. Anybody know of some aftermarket 3 in grips. I’d love a little more realstate to hold it onto shooting them heavier loads

I’m glad that revolvers are coming back, but honestly for $970.00 that’s alot. It does have some S&W L frame characteristics in it..which is good. The one thing that did surprise me was that the cylinders are countered bored…whcih I love.
can you get speed loaders for the Kimber K6S DASA and does in come in left handed set up whatis the largest loads can the 357 maintain

I’m looking for a full size 1911 in .357 mag. Nobody make one, except Coonan for nearly $6000. Not a reasonable price. Is a .357 too strong a cartridge for a 1911 frame? I would think sales to law enforcement would be excellent. I’ve met several lady cops who say 9mm is only good for shooting old ladies and they want more punch. Kimber engineers can work their talents on the frame for the comfort and controllability issues. A decent weapon at $400 would sell well.
I’ve got 14 S&W, and 3 Ruger revolvers (really, Ruger revolvers are not worth having…compared to the Smiths and especially this Kimber. Though, the LCR line is a step up). I shoot revolvers competitively, so I’ve shot a lot of different wheel guns, for a long time.
The K6S that I have (3” DAO) EASILY blows them all away in quality…worth every penny! However, I bought mine for quite a bit less than msrp, as would be expected. Less than some new S&W revolvers, especially the PC guns. BTW, Smith doesn’t really offer custom guns on par with those from around 15 years ago, and older. Just a label now.
Trigger pull cannot be compared. The Kimber is unmatched in smoothness and weight, which feels much lighter than it is. Mine registers 9 lb, 4 oz on my Lyman trigger pull gauge. I plan on buying one of the 4” Target models (DA/SA) as soon as they come out

I feel the same way! I already own multiple revolvers (S&W Governor, Model 19, Ruger Security-6, GP-100, Taurus Judge and Sentinel .22 LR). Short and long barrels, small and large bullets, slow and fast velocity. I feel like we have wheel gun capabilities covered. However, I’d love to own a Kimber 3″ DA/SA .357 Magnum. I am also dreaming about a Colt revolver. I lost a Ruger Security-6 with a 2.5″ barrel to theft. Heavy gun (minimal recoil), smooth trigger, very concealable. I think this Kimber would be a good replacement.
