Kimber's K6s Shows A Little Hammer - SHOT Show 2019

The K6s DA/SA adds a hammer and single action to Kimber’s quality revolver.

Kimber makes a fine hammerless revolver, but this year they’ve modified their K6s to include a double-action/single-action trigger. It comes with a 3-inch or 2-inch barrel and a 6-shot cylinder. The gun is all steel and it looks terrific. It’s got a recessed cylinder so it works with their speedloader. But it’s simple design also makes it shoot like a dream.

Trigger

The trigger is just 9.5-10.5 pounds for double-action and 3.25-4.25 pounds for single-action. That’s pretty light, and the trigger is pre-smithed for a crisp break. What’s more, it’s a non-stacking trigger so it maintains the same weight all the way through the pull. I shot it at the range, and it was really enjoyable and easy to hit targets.

Grip and Sights

The grip on the K6s DA/SA is also a little longer than the hammerless model. The grips are checkered walnut and the front and back strap are grooved for traction. It’s got white dots sights, front and back. It fits well and shoots well.

The all-steel K6s DA/SA comes in .357 Magnum, its MSRP is $970 for 3-inch or 2-inch barrels, and it’s available now.

I am wondering which new revolver I’d buy, the Kimber K6 or Colt Cobra .357 Magnum? Or, if I had the funds right now, I’d just get another Ruger or Smith & Wesson………

Will this be made available in .32 H&R or .327 Federal?

Oh, stop that. It’s highly unlikely it will be chambered in anything other than what it is now. You should know that. Just accept it.

I think it’s a great question. A 7-shooter in .327 Federal I this gun would be a dandy package, in my opinion.

Does this revolver lock up with two points or three points like the Ruger SP101?

I like the new ideas incorporated in this revolver. I also looks nice, I suppose Hogue will come out with a rubber grip to make for softer shooting.
