Last call for bump stocks!

Coonan Expands MOT Family of Enhanced 1911s with a New .45

Last call for bump stocks! Slide Fire is closing its doors on May 20.

Slide Fire Solutions announced this week that the company will be shutting down its operations next month. If you were thinking about purchasing a reciprocating stock now is the time!

“On Sunday, May 20, 2018 at midnight CDT, Slide Fire will cease taking orders for its products and shut down its website,” said the Texas-based company on its website. “Orders placed prior to May 20th, 2018 will all be processed and shipped. We thank you for your support.”

Of course, if you purchase a bump stock you run the risk of becoming an outlaw. President Trump via the Dept. of Justice has decided to criminalize the possession of these range toys. While this retroactive ban hasn’t rolled out just yet, the agency is still taking public comments on what’s officially known as the “Notice of Proposed Rulemaking,” (NPRM) there is little evidence to suggest that it won’t take effect in the near future.

What this means is that if you buy a bump stock or currently own a bump stock, you’ll have two options. First, comply with the new law, and either turn over or destroy the accessory. Which means if you buy one and you plan on going with this option, you’re throwing money out the window. Because you’ll only be allowed to lawfully possess it for a few short months before you have to surrender it. Which brings us to option two…

Refuse to comply with the law, and run the risk of being thrown behind bars for up to 10 years for violating federal law which bans the possession of “machine guns.” (Yes, I’m aware that one can still lawfully own certain NFA-compliant machine guns built prior to 1986. Bump stocks don’t qualify for that exemption for obvious reasons, they were invented circia 2010.) Is it worth jeopardizing your freedom and your right to keep and bear arms for a novelty?

Anyways, Jeff Sessions made underscored this dilemma in a statement released last month.

“If the NPRM is made final, bump-stock-type devices would be effectively banned under federal law and current possessors of bump-stock-type devices would be required to surrender, destroy, or otherwise render the devices permanently inoperable,” said the attorney general.

Slide Fire wouldn’t be closing its doors if it thought that it had a chance to survive the NPRM. It’s game over. Naturally, anti-gunners rejoiced because, well, they are utterly clueless.

See while bump stocks make it easy to bump fire, they are not required to do so. Individuals can still bump fire — or harness the recoil energy to facilitate the continuous operation of a long gun after a single pull of the trigger — with common household items. Banning bump stocks does not preclude people from simulating full auto on their semiautomatic firearms.

In other words, the ban accomplished nada.  Except for putting a reputable company out of business. And putting hundreds of thousands of bump stock owners in the crosshairs of the ATF. I guess maybe that is a win-win for gun grabbers.

“Bump stocks should not be available for sale to the general public, and they should never have been allowed to be sold,” said Avery Gardiner, the co-president of the Brady Center, in an interview with the Miami Herald.

The Brady Center sued Slide Fire following the mass killing in Las Vegas, alleging that the company “provided a product that turned a semi-automatic gun into the functional equivalent of a machine gun, thereby evading longstanding federal law.”

“I’m sure in the lawsuit, we’ll learn more about their announcement about closing their website and what they plan to do with their assets, including their patent,” said Gardiner. “This sure seems to be a positive development.”

Who cares about bump stocks. Rubber bands work just as well. Plus they cost about .05 Go to http://www.poormansmachinegun.com. I can replicate full auto with my finger.

    • mike May 26, 2018, 8:59 am

That’s EXACTLY the point and “They” know it. The PLAN is to Outlaw bump stocks then “Realize” that it’s NOT the stock but the type of action. ANY Semi-Auto can be made to “Bump”, WITH or WITHOUT a Bump Stock. Therefore, ANY SEMI-AUTO MUST BE OUTLAWED!!! See how BAD they want these??? They invested TWO False Flags in getting them.

Just another advancement of the lefts push to take away our second amendment rights

  • Mike April 22, 2018, 11:27 am

Anyone interested in several Colt M4 (semi-auto) rifle’s, one has a all steel Fostec bump-fire and the other is a slide fire, 2500.00. Only fired several times.

A legitimate business that provides a legal product, and provides jobs to dozens of hardworking people becomes the latest victim of the emotional rush to “ban” all things firearms. Shaking my head…

  • Bobs your uncle April 20, 2018, 6:37 pm

I don’t own a firearm that could be fitted with a bump stock, but that doesn’t change my opposition to these regulations. Lawful ownership and use should not be criminalized, this is the road to confiscation, not paved with good intentions. Going after real criminals is dangerous, going after law abiding citizens is not, it needs to be the other way round.

  • Mikial April 20, 2018, 6:26 pm

I’m sure I’ll get a lot of hate for this, but to be honest I always thought bump stocks wouldn’t last long in the legal arena. Yeah, they are a novelty range toy, and don’t make anything any more effective than a semi would be anyway. Believe me, I carried a standard semi auto Bushmaster in Iraq for many months doing private security work and it was more than adequate and better than the spray and pray mentality. But . . . they do simulate a full auto weapon. I think this would have happened eventually, but the psycho in Las Vegas just sped the process up.

On the other hand, I do understand that this is just another step in the Liberal agenda to take our rights away from us, so for that reason I am against the prohibition and made my comment to the ATF to tell them so. But, it was inevitable. Just look at all the idiots posting You Tube videos of them dumping a whole magazine using a bump stock. And based on the number of idiots posting videos of them blowing stuff up, Tanerite will be next. I never understood some people’s need to tell the whole world everything they are doing.

Bump Stock? We need no stink’n Bump Stock.. Use your belt loop. Ops! Then the Government will out law belt loops and with no belt loops there’s no need for a belt. Hence, pants will fall down ans expose your privates then they’ll arrest you for Indecent exposure.. Hey! either way your going to jail you just can’t win.

  • OKHunter April 20, 2018, 2:22 pm

Gun Owners of America have already planned to fight this in courts once the ban becomes effective. Huge class action against the ATF, Sessions, and the DoJ over this betrayal by the current presidency.
I figured this would happen though, Trump supported the original AWB and he is obviously still a NY Democrat at heart.

    • Godfrey Washington April 20, 2018, 5:26 pm

I have no plans to fight this in court. My rights nor my ability to defend myself to the fullest measure are NOT up for debate.

  • Ian M April 20, 2018, 1:38 pm

“Is it worth jeopardizing your freedom and your right to keep and bear arms for a novelty?”

What a puss. It’s that kind of spineless doublespeak attitude that’s gotten us where we are today with ‘compromises’ in current laws/regulations. One mans’ defiance is a statement, often twisted by his peers (i.e. the ‘gun community’) as a harmful lawbreaker, yet group defiance is required for revolt. Stop bowing to the authoritarians, especially those in the party for whom you voted.

  • Dave Brown April 20, 2018, 1:28 pm

Not one of us expected The Bumps to stay on the OK list. So please quit complaining. Maybe buy a Mac and Bump Away.

    • Mike V April 20, 2018, 6:12 pm

Some of us enjoy freedom, not just the kind the fudds are ok with.

Did I see it coming? Sure did.

I get to whine when the government threatens to turn us into felons if we don’t kindly destroy our property or turn in it.

  • Fred Gasparino April 20, 2018, 11:14 am

While bump stocks will be “outlawed” I prefer to say rendered illegal, since no law was passed specifically for this, the crank style activators will for now still be legal, or so it seems.

    • Gopher April 21, 2018, 11:26 am

WA has banned the sale or possession of a device to increase the rate of fire of a semi-automatic rifle, which would catch your crank-fire thingy. With respect to comment following, there is also a little program to pay for devices turned in.

  • SuperG April 20, 2018, 11:01 am

    Sieg Heil ATF, Sieg Heil

  • Awesome Bill from Dawsonville April 20, 2018, 10:58 am

No confiscation without reparations! I can’t fathom how the government can force you to turn in a legally purchased product without compensating the owner.

    • Ian M April 20, 2018, 1:40 pm

Usually at gunpoint. Or they manipulate your own interest group to shame you into compliance. Don’t believe me? Remember a topic called ‘open carry’ opposed by many ‘gun rights supporters?’

  • Edward Vanderbosch April 20, 2018, 10:57 am

See all these gun control measures are being done by Republican controlled government! So this is how you “Make America Great Again”. Raise your hand if you feel stupid.

    • LJ April 20, 2018, 1:24 pm

So what was the option, vote for Hillary – one of the most rabid anti-second amendment proponents in history? Or stick your head in the sand and not vote and automatically send the rabid anti-second amendment nut case into office due to a lack of pro-second amendment voter turnout? Since this is what we’ve allowed our two party system to come down to over the last 20 years – pro or anti 2nd amendment by the casting of a vote?

Who is the stupid one … ?

  • Winston April 20, 2018, 10:51 am

Did the oligarchy-controlled Brady Center also sue FN for making the M240 MG that was plainly heard popping off 600 RPM being used at Las Vegas?

  • Mr.Liberty April 20, 2018, 10:23 am

Firstly I’d like to say folks BUY AS MANY OF THESE BUMP/SLIDEFIRE STOCKS AS YOU CAN. DISTRIBUTE THEM TO EVERY RESPONSIBLE GUN OWNER YOU KNOW AND TELL THEM TO BUY ONE TO PASS ALONG. If Trump/Sessions ban em, I’d say FUCK THOSE PUSSIES. When the ban happens and the confiscation begins, (notice I say when not if) the following events will prove who is a true patriot and who is a true pussy. The pussies will all bend to the will of their government masters and go quietly into the night while the true patriots will kill many and only give up when they are out of ammo. Don’t be a pussy and fight till the death for what you believe in!

  • rwb April 20, 2018, 9:00 am

keep quiet about bump fire.dont give that away .dam libs have eyes n ears

  • Paul April 20, 2018, 8:39 am

Disregard the comment about registering as a machine gun Just notice they had to be made before 1986.

But why not create a new category and collect the fees?

  • Paul April 20, 2018, 8:10 am

Why is there not a third option to register it as a machine gun and pay the $200 tax stamp?

    • Jimmy April 20, 2018, 9:35 am

Right, they would be fine with that, as all they care about is the money. The entire thing is a complete “crock of crap” at the highest of levels. It is all yet another violation and they will NOT stop with all of this until we man up and FORCE a true Change and by whatever means necessary. That is the only way to deal with this bunch anymore, there is no compromise, no nothing but brut force.

  • Godfrey Washington April 20, 2018, 8:03 am

” But we aren’t coming for your guns! Just certain parts that make them too dangerous for you, like pistol grips and magazines over 10 rounds!”

It’s the beginning of the end folks. Piece by piece and law by law good citizens are having their rights violated not through their own actions but the actions of others. With the stroke of a pen people will now have to decide between being a sheepdog or being a sheep.

    R.I.P. Bill of Rights
    R.I.P. U.S. Constitution
    R.I.P. America

    • Jimmy April 20, 2018, 9:41 am

You are so right and I for one and beyond sick to death over it. This country is so doomed. No one is willing to man up and do anything to teach the scum enough is enough period!!!! We are becoming a version of Russia and China and Iran and on and on as the days literally pass us folks…think about it for a second.

    • luke April 20, 2018, 9:15 am

Lukeum: And, you’re in MY cross hairs, Asshole.

  • Ken April 20, 2018, 7:56 am

Same old excuse from leaders and abuse of power will not vote for him again period.

  • Mike V April 19, 2018, 9:19 pm

    I still don’t get it.

Approximately half a million, by DOJ estimates, peaceful law abiding citizens will be given two options.

Destroy your property legally acquired with no compensation…

    Or become a Felon.

    And the NRA says nothing.

The supposedly ardent supporters of the 2nd amendment in the Congress say nothing.

The President who ran on not letting us down, is the cheerleader for this wretched policy.
