List of the Anti-Gun U.S. Senate Candidates You Need to Vote AGAINST in 2020

The Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund announced Tuesday who it is backing for U.S. Senate in 2020.

As we did with the group’s U.S. House of Representative’s endorsements, we want to list them so you know who to vote AGAINST this November.

Here is the list:

  • Captain Mark Kelly in Arizona
  • Gov. John Hickenlooper in Colorado
  • Senator Dick Durbin in Illinois
  • Theresea Greenfield in Iowa
  • Sara Gideon in Maine
  • Senator Gary Peters in Michigan
  • Senator Tina Smith in Minnesota
  • Congressman Ben Ray Luján in New Mexico
  • Army veteran Cal Cunningham in North Carolina
  • Jaime Harrison in South Carolina
  • Air Force veteran MJ Hegar in Texas

Shannon Watts, the founder of Moms Demand Action, the sister organization of Everytown for Gun Safety, explained why they’re putting Bloomberg’s bucks behind those 11 politicians.

“For too long, Senate leadership has stopped critical gun safety bills from passing — even when more than 90% of Americans support the measure,” said Watts in a press release. “To the opponents of the incredible candidates we have endorsed today, your days of ignoring America’s gun violence crisis are numbered.”

President of Everytown, John Feinblatt, added, “Mitch McConnell is the single biggest obstacle to gun safety reform in Washington, so Everytown is going all-in to flip the Senate and elect leaders who will treat America’s gun violence epidemic like the crisis it is.”

As GunsAmerica previously reported, Everytown has roughly $60 million earmarked for the upcoming election cycle. That’s a lot of denaro, and double what the group spent on the 2018 midterm elections.

But even up against all that cash, gun owners have good reason to be hopeful about the future.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation, the firearms industry trade association, estimates that the gun community added over 2.5 million new members during the first four months of 2020, in large part due to concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic.

If these gun owners recognize that their newfound right to keep and bear arms — their fundamental right to protect themselves and their families during uncertain times — is on the chopping block thanks to Everytown and the politicians they support, it could tilt the scales in favor of gun rights over gun control and spell defeat for Everytown’s “gun sense” candidates.

That’s a big “if,” though. A lot can change between now and then. Us longtime 2A advocates still have to do our part to spread the gospel of gun and show up en masse at the polls this Fall to vote for pro-gun lawmakers.

Cal Cunningham in North Carolina is proof that even though a military veteran, you can still be a through-and-through Progressive-Socialist.
U.S. Senator from NC? I don’t think so!

Hey Cal, why don’t you choose another line of work, like trying to sell those wind turbines you so favor?

Make sure you vote against the guy who said this, who spits on your Second, Fifth and Fourteenth amendment rights in one take: “Take the firearms first, and then go to court. I like taking the guns early, like in this crazy man’s case that just took place in Florida … to go to court would have taken a long time. Take the guns first, go through due process second.”

Careful what you say around these parts. When you state facts and provide evidence about Trump not caring for your second amendment rights people tend to get a little bit upset. Ask me how I know.

Hey troll,, less of two evils.. Biden is guaranteed to take guns away.. he has said it numerous times .. Trump has passed no laws banning guns.. I pick trump… go back to Huff post and CNN

    • Stan d. Upnow June 13, 2020, 9:07 am

Yeah, he said it referencing Red Flag laws; unfortunate. But, you’re advocating voting for a Progressive-Socialist candidate? They want to ban firearms ENTIRELY! Are you a Lefty troll? (sure sounds like it)

  • Grady June 12, 2020, 12:29 pm

Don’t forget dumbocrat Steve Bullock of Montana. Will tell any lie necessary to get elected and then do just the opposite of what he says. Been that way for 8 years we have had to put up with his BS.

  • Mike bobier June 12, 2020, 11:35 am

so now its 90% of Americans want gun control? What about the million guns being sold now to first time buyers? Yeah kinda blows her 90% figure out of the water

I always appreciate when folk assemble simple easily accessed “heads-up” lists like this from which I can do my own research.

I second, voting counter-to Mark Kelly in Arizona. His stances are those of a Dem trying to appear moderate while still tickiling all the right funny-bones of the other hard-left leaning Democrats and anti-Republicans.

Reading between his lines it is easy to see which tack he’ll take if elected.

Decidedly liberal stances, Chinese funding connections, the tragic events surrounding his wife’s life-threatening events….

Nope, not a chance I’d vote his side of the ticket unless it was to save Arizona from a greater threat to individual liberties, independence and self-sufficiency. So far, this is FAR from the situation.

In this case, the choice for me is blatantly obvious; Colonel McSally for sure!

    Todd.

    Thanks for the voting tips.

In other words, this site may be a GOP front urging single issue voters to vote against Democrats. No evidence is given for the insinuation that the Dems named are anti-gun radicals.

I am a gun owner. I favor b.g. checks for all sales. I favor harsh penalties for straw purchases. I have a cc permit, and I favor regular (such as a review course every five year renewal period) for permits — training used to be a primary mission of the NRA. I favor the ban on bump stocks. I favor laws that let police take guns via court order from people shown to be mentally ill. No teen should be allowed to purchase an AR.

And yes, I’m aware of slippery slope arguments.

And yes, I do support LE — good cops far outnumber bad cops, and like any profession (cops, fire fighters, military, teachers, doctors, etc.), it is incumbent on the ethical members of the profession to counsel out or push out the ones who disgrace the profession.

And… you’re against Mark Kelly? AYFKM?

    • clifford c bailey June 12, 2020, 12:13 pm

I am against him too. And sir you are a disgrace.

      • Kevin June 12, 2020, 2:42 pm

        Second!

    • Stan d. Upnow June 13, 2020, 9:14 am

I care as much about what you “favor” about as much as I care about the biased opinions spewing from the “journalists” in the corrupt MSM.

to protect and serve is the modo ! And that all it been a modo ! Copscant just do what they want but they do that time is over ! So figure it out or just get out ! The police need to so respect to all those of any color and listen to the people respect tge people ! To get respect it needs to be givin and earned! Which they dont do or belive just because tgere copsthey belive tgey are better then every one else ! I know more bad cops thenn good but there are good ones out there just not enough to make a diffrence ! It a sad thing but true! Defending and restructuring is time!

    • clifford c bailey June 12, 2020, 12:17 pm

Wow a very decisive piece. I can tell by how it is written how educated you are! You probably benefit immensely from my tax dollars.

    • Stan d. Upnow June 13, 2020, 9:17 am

Let me guess– English is your 2nd language? Sure needs some work!

    • Rick P July 3, 2021, 12:26 am

Jac Brown I have to disagree with you. After being a cop for thirty years I know far more cops are good although the number is getting less because they don’t let the cops do their jobs hence the mass retirements. I’ve never known a cop who wanted to intentionally commit a violent crime. The few bad cops I’ve known don’t want confrontation they want money. The majority just want to do their job and go home to their families. They’re hamstrung though by slanted news coverage, politicians, and their own bosses in some cases.

Defund the Police, Take away our guns , Might as well disconnect 911,because next will be EMTs and the Fire Department ,so Who you gonna Call ? No one to Answer ! Anyone have a phone number for Antifa or BLM ?Surely the Democrats will have them as our “Protectors” or was that ” Protestors” Any way “Ghostbusters ” is definitely out of the question and so is the Stupidity of the Politicians who are caving in to their “White Guilt” which they have allowed as this “Figment of their own imagination ” has been Brainwashed into Reality in their minds by Force ! No Doubt We live in Troubled Times ,however it doesn’t make Sense to Compound the Issue with Insane ideas ! Racism does exist and it will always exist because It is a condition that cannot be eradicated by “Force”, much like the Radical Muslims will ask you if you believe or die attitude because you will be beheaded if you don’t believe ! Racism is a Condition ,not an object that you can hold or throw out because it doesn’t work any more! Conditions can be changed by Thought processes ,Working on them ,Improving them , but NEVER through the Application of VIOLENCE because Violence breeds more Violence as it becomes a NEVER Ending Cycle ! Think ! That’s a good place to Start , Then Vote for your best Choice !

There is no such thing as “gun violence”.
