Is the kimber light enough to carry it around in an owb holster and forget that it is even there?

I think Kimbers are nice guns.
Lots of people enjoy them and shoot well with them.
They look pretty clean.
I thought I wanted to get a Kimber Eclipse 10mm, but it, like all 1911’s didn’t feel good in my hand.
I’m more of a M&P, PPQ, Glock kind of guy.

I bought one Kimber when I decide to get a 1911 worst gun I ever had. failed to fire the safety grip they ssid we changed that. Then after several other problems sold it a gun show. I told the new owner about them, he said you have to go all through these guns, said he did it several times. My current 1911’s Slim Hawg love it and a nice Colt officer 70 series I bought in a pawn shop for $550.

Seriously, WW, why do you care what the guy (bald and log beard) looks like, how can you tell anything about him from his hair and beard length, and what the hell does any of that have to do with Kimber firearms?
I have two Kimber pistols; a TLE II in .45, and a Pro Carry in .38 Super Auto. Both are completely trouble free, and both outshoot my Browning, my Rugers, my Kel-Tec, and my EAA Witness Match and P-Carry. They make a fine gun, that feels good, looks good and shoots really well. Having said all that, I’m not knocking my other hand guns – – if I don’t really love a gun, I don’t keep it, and all of mine (that I have kept) are very good at what I bought them for.
Several of the comments on this video reflect a lot of bias against Kimbers, and while I don’t really get it, I suspect it’s like Fords and Chevy’s – – some people just hate the brand that’s not theirs, even if they have never tried it. Here’s my take on bias and brand loyalty: if it does what I expect it to do, and does it really well, I don’t care about brand, cost, or anyone else’s opinion.
First Kimber does NOT do their own forging as shown in the video. They order them. Second I have owned over 10 Kimbers and the MIM parts they use break frequently. Third, The Military “allegedly” discontinued the Kimber for a frame cracking issue. When the Father had the place they made good weapons, the Son, who has it now is only interested in making money, not good firearms. I know, I work here at Kimber. Great Video, however…………………

now reviewing the tape,, take note of the interviewer,, bald head,, long beard,, pretty much of a wannabe.. bad,, in reality a “know knothing” coward bonehead..

Overpriced prettyness. That’s kimber. Solo is a joke, a cute purse gun. Out shot by a sccy.(kel tec copy) in my yard sat. My kel tec also out shot it. Customer ordered a solo and a sccy and for 1/3 the price the sccy out shot the solo, has better warranty and comes with 2-10 rnd mags. Solo has 1-6 rnd mag. They do.make some nice stuff, but they are waaaay to proud of their shit.
The guy who said his kimber cost more than remington sure was right! Costs even more than a savage and a savage will out shoot either gun out of the box. If you like throwing money away, send it to me, I’ll be your biggest fan everybody could use a fan! Address is….

I’ve owned a CDP pro for a long time. It is one of the nicest looking 1911s I’ve ever seen, my opinion of course. It is not at the same level of craftsmanship as Wilson combat or other top manufacturers but a high middle ground somewhere in between. It is reliable, but it has also had some problems. Mine has had problems with brass to face, and I’m still trying to figure this out. I’ve just replaced the ejector, which has stopped the problem for now, however I’ve thought I had this problem taken care of in the past only to have it come back. Truth is I can’t put my finger on why I like this gun so much, I just like it.
2013 Wyoming elk hunt I shot my first bull elk. It was a large bull elk and the horns measured 330. I shot it with my Kimber Montana 300 win-mag from 200 yards. It was 1 shot and the elk dropped instantly where it was standing. The rifle is light weight and very easy to carry. Thank you for an excellent quality and accurate rifle.

Well I have had a few of their 45s.. and also have 9 of Kimbers Rifles. Why pay 800 or more for a Rem 700 when I can get a Kimber rifle for 250 more?? Never had a Solo.so don’t know about them. But the full size 45s I have had were fine shooting 1911s. My full time carry 45 IS a Wilson Combat though.. About the most reliable 1911 I have ever had. But When I got it from an old friend..it was less than the price of a Kimber. He WAS a very good friend.

The Kimber Solo though is a bad example of a good company trying to extend in to a niche market. When the slide is back the play in the barrel is immense, which probably explains the difficulty getting a tight group at 20 feet. For the price of 2 Kimbers I can get 3 Nanos, much tighter barrel and slide. And sorry, for the money, rather save up and get a Wilson or Ed Brown.

Looks good however I would not purchase a New York fire arm or anything else made in New York.
Kimber makes good pepper spray. Seriously, I highly recommend it.
