Violence in cartoons is perfectly acceptable, provided it doesn’t involve guns. That is the takeaway from a new “Looney Tunes” reboot featuring Elmer Fudd without his trusty side-by-side and Yosemite Sam without his favorite wheel guns.
Producers of the show, which is streaming on HBO Max, told The New York Times that the toons will still depict dynamite, intricate body traps, anvils, and other potentially deadly implements of destruction but just not firearms.
“We’re not doing guns,” said Peter Browngardt, the series’ executive producer and showrunner. “But we can do cartoony violence — TNT, the Acme stuff. All that was kind of grandfathered in.”

In one short clip posted on Youtube, entitled “Dynamite Dance,” Elmer Fudd attempts to decapitate Bugs Bunny with a scythe. Bugs retaliates with oodles and oodles of explosives, including boxes of TNT and a cake with sticks of dynamite in place of traditional candles.
Storyboard artist Ryan Khatam explained that the cartoon is both of this time and not of this time.
“We’re going through this wave of anti-bullying, everybody needs to be friends, everybody needs to get along,” he said.
“‘Looney Tunes’ is pretty much the antithesis of that,” he continued. “It’s two characters in conflict, sometimes getting pretty violent.”
But just not with guns. Thank goodness! The children are now safe because “Looney Tunes” has banned guns.
First cartoons…now gone with the wind, banned in HBO, it is such a racist movie. What the left doesn’t realize, that the black actress in the film, was the first black actress to receive a Oscar..

Is it only me that finds it ironic that they took the Fudd’s guns away? But seriously, HBO which has shows that have very graphic violence, rape and racism (GOT & Deadwood as examples) is trying to virtue signal by taking away Elmer Fudd’s gun…what a joke of a company.,
