Magnum Research is bringing back a long-time favorite for 2020, the Baby Eagle. The Baby Eagle, a cousin to the CZ-75, will be offered in two sizes with two frame options in three calibers. These Baby Eagles are made for Magnum Research by BUL Transmark in Israel.
Magnum Research is bringing back the Baby Eagle as the Baby Eagle III, with small changes and improvements that should be popular with existing Baby Eagle fans and even make some new ones. The biggest update is the frame itself, with a slimmer profile for a grip that appeals to a wider range of shooters.
Baby Eagle pistols are double-action, single-action with a slide mounted decocker. The decocker is ambidextrous and the magazine release is reversible for left-handed shooters.
Like previous generations, the Baby Eagle III maintains its unique style and beveled muzzle that makes these guns distinct, in both polymer-framed versions and steel-framed models. All models have a black oxide finish on the steel components and a stainless steel barrel.
The Baby Eagle III is launching with models chambered for 9mm Luger, .40 S&W and .45 ACP. The steel-framed pistols come in all three calibers while the polymer versions will only be offered in 9mm and .40 S&W.
Magnum Research will offer both the steel- and polymer-framed Baby Eagle IIIs in full-size and semi-compact versions, though. Magnum Research’s semi-compact uses a full-size frame with a shortened slide and barrel. All models feature a full-length accessory rail and large swept beavertail.
The main difference–besides weight–between the polymer and steel frames is that the polymer frames have fingergrooves while the steel frames are straight in the grip with vertical frontstrap serrations. The all-steel models weigh around 38 ounces in 9mm and .40 and 35 ounces in .45. The polymer models weigh around 10 ounces less and measure about 28 ounces unloaded.

The standard barrel length on all full-size models is 4.4 inches long, while the semi-compacts have 3.8-inch barrels. Capacity for all models is the same between frame types as well.
The 9mm models hold 15+1 rounds of ammunition while the .40-caliber standard capacity is 12+1. The .45 models, which are only offered with steel frames, hold 10+1. All models come with two magazines and Magnum research sells them with 10-round capped mags for restricted markets.
And they’re all priced solidly, too. The polymer-framed models are priced at $646 while the steel options run a little more at $691. In-store and online pricing is typically less. The Baby Eagle has always enjoyed a good amount of support from third-party manufacturers as well, making these solid buys from a great family of gun makers.

Always liked the baby eagles, 10 mm would be great but I’ll settle for a 45
