Donovan Stewart is not a man criminals want to mess with. The 60-year-old Miami resident shot and killed an armed robber Monday morning and told local media that he wouldn’t hesitate to do it again.
“The guy I killed last night, he put an AK-47 to my damn face,” Stewart told CBS Miami.
The robber apparently tried to ambush Stewart while he was catching some z’s in his van with his girlfriend and 11-year-old son.
“I am from Kingstontown in Jamaica,” he said, “and I am not going to go out like a punk. So I emptied my Glock in his chest. This man tried to get in my van while I was sleeping and he was surprised to see what I did.”
Stewart showed the reporter how he managed to swat the AK out of his face while simultaneously grabbing his own handgun.
“So I thought you are you going to kill me so now I have to act quickly because I am trained,” he said. “You know I have a security license, I have a gun license and I have a state firearms license and a concealed weapons permit and I have a gun and I am a member of the NRA.”

“I am going to defend my life and those I love,” he continued. “My family is innocent and just don’t put an AK-47 in my face. I will not allow that to happen. This guy also hijacked a woman in a van and was found with her car key. He robbed another woman at gunpoint.”
The other victim was identified as Delilah Gaitor. The perp robbed her at gunpoint on Saturday morning, making off with her money, $600, her iPhone, and her 2018 Volkswagen.
Stewart issued a warning to other potential troublemakers.
“You want to come looking for trouble,” he said. “Come to me. Come to me. I wouldn’t do anything like this to anybody and they picked the wrong person in this case.”
Police meanwhile said that while the investigation is ongoing, this appears to be a lawful instance of self-defense.
“Everyone is cooperating,” said Maimi Police Officer Mike Vega, “but we still need to receive more information. We need to put this all together and determine what happened.”
How disgusting that these liberals use the fake term “Assault Rifle” in what USED to be a good pro-gun site….
The police “need more information?” Like WHAT? The guy shot the perp in self-defense. Period. Question is: where were the Police when the punk stuck the AK into Donovan’s face? The anti-gunners won’t have the answer.
So, some guy that has no business on the streets shoves a rifle in your face and you’re forced to shoot the guy. And they take the vehicle you happen to be living in rendering you, your son , and your girlfriend without shelter. And they take your gun, rendering you without a means of defense against more of the same guys who shouldn’t have been free to rob you in the first place? I would send them a hefty bill for doing the work police, judges, ad prosecutors should have been doing in the first place. Private citizens aren’t police. so this is specialty work. Minimum hours, equipment, consumables. And that’s for starters. Let em have that van. You’re gonna be able to pay off a house ad keep a safe full of weapons when you get done with these asswipes. If I have to put in the work, the city, county, and state are all gonna billed. You bet!

That is exactly what I like to read. Not many people publish the positives that weapons are doing in the right hands. We w/ always have idiots, but don’t punish all of us. The police took his gun and the van he was living in. He needs more than a box of ammo.
He did it in self defense to protect himself and his family. It takes an average of 18 minutes for police to arrive to help you. By the time the police arrive, you and family are dead. The police will only be there to take pictures of the crime scene, call the meat wagon to take your body to the coroner’s morgue.
