The scare tactic, NRA style, is give a pinky they will take the entire body, has been a main theme for decades. Take amour piercing ammo for example. Who could object? More cops left the NRA that year than any previous decade! But the NRA said no, we want such ammo to be legal. We have had a democratic president for 8 years and the second amendment has not been attacked, not once. Gun owners, ah, the legal ones, have nothing to fear except I personally would love to see less bad guys getting guns and machine guns to boot.
We are out gunned. Mass killers are getting weapons that should be banned. For our own, gun owner, safety.
This story happened a few hundred years ago but with a modern twist. That’s all. It did not happen on Dec 6 2013.
Seventy-two killed resisting gun confiscation in Boston!
Boston – National Guard units seeking to confiscate a cache of recently banned assault weapons were ambushed by elements of a Para-military extremist faction. Military and law enforcement sources estimate that 72 were killed and more than 200 injured before government forces were compelled to withdraw.
Speaking after the clash, Massachusetts Governor Thomas Gage declared that the extremist faction, which was made up of local citizens, has links to the radical right-wing tax protest movement.
Gage blamed the extremists for recent incidents of vandalism directed against internal revenue offices. The governor, who described the group’s organizers as “criminals,” issued an executive order authorizing the summary arrest of any individual who has interfered with the government’s efforts to secure law and order.

Governor Gage has called upon citizens to support the state/national joint task force in its effort to restore law and order. The governor also demanded the surrender of those responsible for planning and leading the attack against the government troops.
Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, and John Hancock, who have been identified as “ringleaders” of the extremist faction, remain at large.

Actually, the article is wrong. The attempted ban of the 5.56X45/M855 round was NOT the “test case”. That was the “main event”. The real “test case” was the decision (not even submitted for public commentary as is required by the pertinent rules of administrative procedure) to ban 5.45X39 ammo (chiefly used in the AK-74 and derivatives). When nobody raised a stink about that utterly illegal activity (because not that many of us use the round), the ATF felt emboldened to go after the comparable NATO round. Remember that old saying about Hitler’s Germany, how “first they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist, so I said nothing. Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew…, etc.”? Well, it’s still true. You .223 shooters stood happily by while they screwed us 5.45X39 users and, because you did, they went after you. Folks, we hang together or we hang singly. No infringement is acceptable, even if it’s not really inconveniencing you, so get off your duffs.
Of course it was a “test case”. Everything the federal and local governments do regarding firearms is. Think about it. There are few words within the scope of our legal language that are more clear and specifically intended than “Shall not be infringed”. None. Look it up and see for yourselves. There are also very few, if any laws on the books, federally, state, or locally which do not run astray of the letter and spirit of those words in the context of our 2nd Amendment, the highest law of our land, which supersedes all others, federally, state, and locally. Democrats, and liberal thinkers in general may not like it, but these are facts which cannot, will not be denied on my watch. That’s how it is. When will the rest of us “gun rights advocates” show the stones and step up to plate to make it understood in no uncertain terms to these politicians, lawyers, and judges who they work for and what our Constitution means? It’s mine and I will not give it up without a fight. Even if I have to do it alone.
Right you are, Ginny. It’s always a trial run with the never relenting gun grabbers. ATF, DOJ & certainly Obama are NOT our friends.
We can eliminate a lot of this anti Constitution gun grabbing crap by simply voting for the most Conservative candidate running for any elected position. And, whatever you do, stop voting for anyone with a “D” behind their name!
The M855 ban is nothing compared to Operation JADE HELM due July15 to Sept 15 2015. The cover story says it is a training mission but ALL active duty people say it is a takeover of AMERICA by OBAMA and the One World Government folks. They will begin with the areas of most resistance Returning Veterans and Patriots in 9 States. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What are you going to do about it Terrible? Are you going to surrender? Or are you going to shoot out of you front room window when they come marching in? Will they round up rural ares first? Or urban population centers? And, once they do? What exactly happens next? Curfew? Marshall law? How will the government remain funded and functional if everybody is stuck at home, not going to work? Government? Hell the people will starve and die of thirst forthwith in the hot, dry southwestern states like my beloved Arizona. And these are the families and friends of the soldiers who are supposed to be perpetrating this madness. My point is that I doubt it’s going to be like you seem to think it will. Over the past 80 odd years the powers that be have had much more consistent success at controlling the civilian populations ability to demand what’s rightfully theirs and take it back from their government with a string of legislative actions mostly stemming from the Commerce Act, and twistings and ramblings thereof than overt actions such as you fear. As intelligence and general understanding increases among us all in this “age of information”, I should think we might be able to use this to our advantage in order to keep things from descending into an all out war in the streets. It’s time to use the tactics of these powers that be with the threat (and very real possibility mind you) to be as a last resort. Get out on social media and let the people know the truth about our Constitution, become politically active, and make your cause known to those around you in you homes and communities that will listen. Do not deride movements which stand for the greater cause because you don’t agree with their tactics such as Tarrant County carry folks. They aren’t hurting anybody and their ideas are all based on perfectly legal activities. It’s all a damn sight better than a bunch of fools burning down their own neighborhoods and shooting cops. It’s a damn sight better than a bunch of rich brats “occupying” spaces made for everyone and trashing said spaces all to hell in process. I’m all torn up about a few nervous people at Starbucks, when cities are burning and good men who’s only work is to help people and keep order are being shot at and dying. Demand your rights be restored Terrible. Don’t stop until it’s done. Don’t settle for anything less. If you follow this path, that will make two of us. That’s a start.
