Big tip of the hat to Breitbart.com for doing the legwork on the Obama administration’s latest assault to roll back the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding gun owners before it vacates office in 2016.
Via the Justice Department and the Bureaus of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, president Obama is looking to make the following changes, among others, all of which were announced in the Spring 2015 Unified Agenda, a document that “provides federal agencies with the most systematic, government-wide method to alert the public about their upcoming proposed rules.”

RIN: 1140 AA04–will expand persons barred from gun ownership and possession by including “misdemeanor crime of domestic violence” as grounds for forfeiting the right to “ship, transport, possess, or receive in or affecting commerce firearms or ammunition.” It would also make it “unlawful for any person to sell or otherwise dispose of a firearm or ammunition to any person knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that the recipient has been convicted of such a misdemeanor.”
RIN: 1140 AA47–broadens the number of people barred from gun possession by expanding the ATF’s mental health provisions on background checks. The NRA pointed out that because most mentally ill persons pose no threat to society, the new regulations will actually become “snares [for] masses of mostly harmless individuals.”
RIN: 1140 AA41–impacts FFLs by creating new reporting requirements for lost or stolen guns as well as new reporting requirements for lost or stolen guns that have been recovered.
RIN: 1140-AA43–impacts trusts that hold firearms regulated under the National Firearms Act. The rule requires trusts, corporations or legal entities possessing the guns to produce a “responsible person” who can undergo a background for guns in probate, before they are passed to a descendant. This person would “complete a specified form” and “submit photographs and fingerprints” simply to hold the guns while the estate is settled.
Some of these suggestions have been around for a few years, however, the DOJ is now seeking “final action.”
“The Obama administration hates the Second Amendment, and it’s clear that every place where it can push, it will,” Michael Hammond, legislative counsel for the Gun Owners of America, told The Hill.com. “This is an indication of an anti-gun administration trying to annoy us in any way it can.”
Hammond went on to say that the domestic violence provision could ban guns for “a person who spanked his kid, or yelled at his wife, or slapped her husband” and that “The Obama administration is trying very hard to disqualify people from owning a gun on the basis that they are seeing a psychologist.”
The battle continues. The question is will Obama succeed this time around?
Yes, 0bama can try it, and probably will, but thank God that the 2nd Amendment gives us the right and the means to stop him. Mostly the means, because that right comes from God anyhow.

Its worse that you guys think. They just passed another bill here in Oregon that says that ALL PRIVATE GUNS SALES MUST GO THRU A BACKGROUND CHECK. It sounds like a small bill…(there is no new small gun bills!) only big ones. The communist democrats passed it by saying that this had to be done as a STATE OF EMERGENCY! What the hell? That way they didnt have to let us vote on it. They just passed it. Then, they put in a bunch of other laws into the bill once it was passed. Now guess what. They made it so we as Oregon citizens have to take our gun to an FFL dealer for him to ship it to another FFL dealer. We can not ship the sold gun ourselves any more. The FFL dealers now say they will have to add $30-40 to do this for us for each gun! Why? Because they also added into the law, a lot of new garbage creating a lot of new paper work and it takes time, so they have to charge us for their time.
I thought, I will get my own FFL………..BUT the morons have made it extremely hard now for us to get an FFL to use out of our homes. We must have a business address and they are not giving them out like they used to. Then, every gun you sell, weather kept by the buyer or returned back after a 3 day inspection, will now be in your name. Even if it was from your Fathers estate or given as a gift! Now it is registered in your name and they know where to get that gun. This is Gun registration to know where all guns are. ANd this crap just keeps getting worse. This is just the tip of the iceburg. I just do not have the time and I dont want to bore you with all the laws that were stuck in when no one was looking. They just tell the public “its just one little law to make is safe and fuzzy feeling”. They have done this in Washington state last year and now this year in Oregon. The rumor is Nevada is next! They are systematically turning us all into California. One state at a time and no one watches when just one state does this. Once all 50 states are ruined by Democrats, they will have won when no one was looking. Come on people wake up! What the heck do you think this whole drone thing is all about? Jsu looking for that ever scary pot field? For crying out loud…it was just legalized this month here in Oregon and was legalized in Washington last year…………see a pattern? My guess is they will start putting chips in new guns and ammo so that the Drones can fly over and see how much ammo you have and how many guns. Then, when they come to takes your guns, they will know how big an army they need to send, to haul your ass in and take your supply! And of course, that will consume all your finances which will go to the government. And of course, you wont ever get your guns back because you are now considered a felon!

Time to rally gun owners together, oust the current control group, then rescind foul laws and institute comprehensive laws that will stop further degradation of our rights.
We can and must rally the support and get the job done once and for all.

The only change in gunowner’s rights during the Obama administration is an expansion: we can now have firearms in national parks.
I have been in and around the gun trade for 50 years (just had my first ATF audit) and the bleating has never changed — “they are coming to take your guns” is the constant refrain and …. it never has happened. Every time the politicians have enacted something stupid, they get fired and the law sunsets. Every year Congressman Bobby Rush (the only person to ever beat Barack Obama in an election) introduces a Take the Guns Bill and it always dies for lack of a co-sponser, but pols of all stripes get to raise cash on it.
So get a grip and take a pill: NOBODY, not Obama, not Hillary, is coming to take our guns.
FYI: domestic violence is the most dangerous situation for lawmen and mentally ill folks use guns to kill themselves and account for half of the deaths by firearms every year.
I agree and disagree with the backround check. I agree cause I don’t want serial killers getting bad ass guns. I disagree cause I have the right to be left alone and able to protect myself and my neighbors, friends, family, and yes, even my worst enemy. In Florida no person arrested for domestic violence, misdemeanor or felony, can possess a firearm until the case is disposed of. No person convicted of domestic violence can possess a firearm.
Here is an idea. Why doesn’t he start curtailing the ATF’s rights? Or, better yet abolish this private army and let local law enforcement handle these issues.

You obviously never saw enough combat to comprehend the difference between ‘CONTINUING’ A forward flanking assault that WILL NEVER END until they Win! I’ve been warning everybody about this for months going on years. But nobody gave a shit. All everybody seems to like to do is figure out a way to ‘get around it’, but never to proactively move to prevent it. Or they argue inanely in their armchairs that ‘They’ll never get away with it because there’s already too many guns out there to confiscate or too many of ‘us’ behind every blade of grass, or the other stupidity with the Molon Labe nonsense. Because guess what, my friends, ‘They’ WILL come and get it. They’re already doing it. And a lot of you are going to have to take heavier dosages of your meds, (alcohol is also a ‘drug/self-med’) also making you illegal to have guns (wording is already there in the new 4473s if you interpret carefully) from being so stressed out to handle the fact that even your own friends, neighbors, and family members will be Helping Them!
They already started–as i’ve often predicted in the past–the process to disarm combat vets. Soon anyone with any PTSD designation will fall into a prohibited to own firearms status, AND not even their immediate live-in family members will be allowed to possess firearms!

It’s not a question of whether or not Obama will succeed or not. Because they ALREADY ARE ‘succeeding’ because they are getting away with subverting our Constitutional guarantees! . And with the 2nd/A, the reality is that if we are not winning, we are then losing. The question is whether Hillary, when she wins, will even allow us to have airsoft guns anymore. I mean, she certainly wants to show her NWO butt buddies that she can go one better than Australia, the UK, and Canada, in terms of global totalitarianism?

You rant like you are the only person to predicted “in the past–”the process to disarm combat vets. It has been a very big topic, everywhere… including local media. And “warning everybody about this for months going on years”? So have tens of thousands of us! You are apparently referring to armchair activists… I have attended many 2nd Amendment rallies in the past 10 years, and there was absolutely no talk of how to get around anything, the speakers at these events have no delusions about the anti-gun crowds will to continue their fight and spoke of only ways to take the fight to them through the exact methods you mention and many more. These rallies were very well attended, several to the overflow point due to venues being to small to accommodate the amount of people that showed up in support, and to learn more ways to win the fight. And just for perspective, I live in a small town of 3100 people, we had 1500+ show up at a single event, and no one seemed to be looking for a way around the next set of anti-2nd Amendment laws, but rather looking to prevent any changes to the 2nd Amendment.

We already have deep divisions in our ranks (Pro-2nd Amendment-ers) but make no mistake you are one of many in the fight.. That said I completely agree with the thought process that if we are not winning, we are then losing. Unfortunately one of the largest Pro-2nd Amendment groups we have has been willing to compromise away bits and pieces of our Rights. We need to stand our ground, and that means reelecting/electing Representatives that will do the same, we have compromised enough. It also means more than writing out a check for the membership dues of the lifelong club you have belonged to. We need members who know what their group is voting for, and to walk the walk, hold Representatives accountable, remind them of why they hold their position and who put them there.
You mentioned your support for your Representative as well as reminding him/her why the hold the position they do, an excellent example of what we need to do. If a 10th of the people who hang around the Pro-2nd Amendment blogs, YoutTube Videos and Website and comment about how everyone else should act or what they should do, would contact their Representatives(s) or hell just vote for a pro-2nd Amendment Representative we wouldn’t be in the mess we have coming at us once again.
So, realize you are part of a very large group of like-minded individuals all fighting for the same cause. Some of us attend rallies, some of us organize rallies, some of us donated 30% of our gross income to NAGR. Others support the NRA, GOA, some write and host Pro 2nd Amendment Blogs or SMOGS, some harass the hell out of their Representatives! You are far from the only one in this fight or it would have been over long ago.
