RICE LAKE, WI – November 25, 2020 – American gunmaker Henry Repeating Arms is announcing a large transition in their product catalog with upgrades for their Wisconsin-made lever-action rifles and shotguns and new calibers and configurations for their H015 Single Shot firearms. In total, the announcement is replacing 29 “legacy” models in favor of newly upgraded versions and adding 3 new Single Shots to the Henry lineup.

By popular demand, Henry Repeating Arms is replacing all steel-framed centerfire lever-action rifles and shotguns to include a side loading gate while still retaining the removable tube magazine based on the original Henry rifle patented in 1860. This open-ended magazine design, first introduced with the Henry H024 Side Gate Lever Action in 2019, provides owners with the ability to conveniently load the magazine and keep it topped off through a port in the receiver and safely unload the magazine by twisting out the inner magazine tube. The transition applies to all of Henry’s .30-30 and .45-70 rifles, .410 bore shotguns, and revolver caliber Big Boy rifles in their blued steel, All-Weather, and Color Case Hardened finishes that do not already include a side loading gate.

“Ever since our fans and customers got a taste of a side loading Henry, the requests started rolling in immediately to include this feature on their favorite finish or caliber. These new models are going to make a lot of people very happy, and we are always going to have options for fans of our legacy configuration as well,” states Anthony Imperato, president and owner of Henry Repeating Arms. Imperato continues, “The removable tube magazine is a core part of our product DNA, so that’s not going anywhere, and fans of the classic brass and octagon barrel configurations will always be able to get that from us.”

In addition to the new Side Gate models, Henry is announcing 2 new calibers for the H015 Single Shot Rifle with .350 Legend and .450 Bushmaster. For large game hunters in shotgun-only areas, Henry is also releasing the Henry Single Shot Slug Barrel Shotgun in 12 gauge, which features a fully rifled barrel for use with shotgun slugs and fiber optic sights.

I would love to see them come out with a 32/20. Marlin used to make the 32/20 and 25/20 both calibers are
fun to shoot and are excellent for small game. Reloading them both is easy and very economical. They both
    use very little powder.

I predict there will soon be a large aftermarket category of cheap Henry lever action rifles with NO kingsgate top off ability.

One of the main reasons I’d picked up a Marlin .45-70 over the Henry a few years back was simply the lack of a side-loading gate. Otherwise, the build quality of the Henry rifles are hard to match, they’re beautifully put together. I’m excited to check out some of the new options.

Any blind man can see from the get go that the lack of a side loading gate is a serious hindrance to sales.
The one and only reason I never owned a Henry is, wait for it, THE LACK OF A SIDE LOADING GATE!
I just could never see having to take down a major component of the gun just to top off the magazine with a few rounds.
The price was also something of a hindrance as well.

Please make a case colored, side gated model with a 26″ octagon barrel with low profile peep sights in 25/35, and in .350 Legend. Hornady came out with that plastic tipped leverlution round for the 25/35. That would give the opportunity to realize the true value of the 25/35 cartridge.

Also, please come out with a cowboy version of the Marlin 39A, with crescent butt, peep sight, straight grip stock, and a 26″ octagon barrel, Eliminate the cross-bolt safety, and just go back to sliming the rifle down to the way the Marlin 1892 and 1897 cowboy versions were. Make them in .22LR, .22Mag, and .17HMR.

I bought a Henry Golden Boy .17HMR, put a receiver peep sight on it with a 26″ octagon barrel on it and it is incredible. I also put a rounded piece of wood on top of the stock like European stocks often have and it made the stock be in the right place for a cheek bone weld, rather than the jaw bone weld which was my only complaint with the Golden Boy.

I’ve always loved the 1860 Henry model rifle, I know you make it In 45 Long colt and 4440, I know you say it’s not cost-effective but I wish you would make it in 22 Long rifle. With the Availability and cost of ammo I’m sure your customers what by the heck out of these things.

That’s half cool, half suck. I bought a brand new H012CCC in March, and had I known they where adding loading gates, I’d have waited.
I’ve also got a 2016 big boy steel, great shooter.
