SAF Blasts Media for Anti-Gun Bias Leading Up to Midterms

The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) is calling out the media for their anti-gun bias leading up to the midterms.

For example, the Associated Press this week ran a story with the headline, “Guns send over 8,000 US kids to ER each year, analysis says,” which was widely syndicated all over the internet.

SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb said the timing of its publication is “no coincidence.”

“Guns haven’t sent anybody anywhere,” Gottlieb explained. “Careless people or criminals misusing guns are responsible, but guns get the blame. The problem is that many people never read past the headline, and this sort of thing contributes to the public’s impression that bias drives such sensational headlines.

“In Washington State,” he continued, “there is obvious media bias in some publications about a gun control initiative on the ballot. All five major law enforcement groups in the state, representing thousands of rank-and-file lawmen and women, are opposed to the measure, but the media downplayed their importance, referring to them as a ‘handful of law enforcement groups,’ or ‘some law enforcement groups,’ while vastly inflating the importance of three officials, including a single county sheriff, who are supporting the initiative.

“The press screams when anybody talks about ‘fake news’,” Gottlieb noted, “but this bias is exactly what people are talking about, and when it comes to gun issues, it’s blatant. News agencies refer to gun prohibition lobbying groups as ‘gun safety organizations’ to help disguise their true intent. They talk about ‘semiautomatic assault rifles,’ when there really is no such thing, since true ‘assault rifles’ are fully automatic.

“It’s all subliminal, but it is designed to create an impression about firearms, gun owners and their desire to add further restrictions on the Second Amendment,” he stated. “It’s deplorable and dishonest, but it exemplifies why people no longer trust the media. The public is not as dumb as the press thinks, and the proof is shrinking newspaper circulation and declining ratings. The press needs credibility, but on the gun issue, that was sacrificed a long time ago.”

The political lie of the Liberals being against the Gun Industry, The Shooter, The 2nd Amendment, the gun owner are completely wrong and way out of contexts, we should not allow our freedom to be used Politically because we all know you can not change the Constitution unless you are Trump. He has attacked The Constitution and Democracy of everything he can use to get votes, Our Gun right is one of them. The 10% of Liberals who want Gun control do not speak for the 90% of us that have no thoughts about giving up our security of owning guns. We are educated Men, act like it, stop using what we all know is just a political trick to get votes for The Russian Gutter Rat

I have found that the so called news has turned into a tabloid that cannot be considered a viable source of anything meaningful.

Gullible societies who watch, read or listen without question are as guilty as those who spew it. Know your source.

While we’re talking about subliminal messaging, one phrase that I hear continually is “ illegal weapon”. As in “ the suspect was found to have an illegal weapon concealed in his waistband”. Or “ law enforcement is attempting to get illegal guns off the street”. The subliminal message is that guns are illegal, or bad. The phrase should be “ the suspect, due to his prior felonies, was found to be illegally possseing a firearm”, or “ law enforcement makes an effort to remove firearms from criminals within the community”

I know, it’s a small play on words, but that’s how they let their subliminal messages creep into the subconscious thoughts of the weak minded masses.

I bring this up, because I’ve even seen this phrase” illegal weapons” used by authors contributing to Guns America.

Guns aren’t illegal ( 99% of the time), people are!
