Did Arthur Savage, a former designer at Colt, ever imagine that his firearms company would still be manufacturing guns 125 years after its founding in 1894?
We’ll never know that answer to that question, but will you be buying Savage’s anniversary edition Model 110 bolt-action rifle? And what caliber will you choose?
Savage will be producing 1,894 of these special edition rifles. The gun features a high-gloss walnut stock with a raised Monte Carlo-style comb. The raised comb goes well with the receiver that is tapped for scope rings.
The stock is checkered with a black forend cap, and the grip’s end cap has a vintage Savage logo of an Indian with a feathered headdress.
The rifle’s action and magazine are also engraved. The carbon steel action is adorned with fancy filigree and a special anniversary edition serial number. The detachable box magazine holds four rounds (plus one in the chamber) and is engraved with the “125 Years” logo.
But don’t dismiss this rifle as a pretty safe queen. It’s still a performance Model 110 rifle. It’s got a button rifled 22-inch barrel and Savage’s famed AccuTrigger, which is user-adjustable.
The anniversary edition Model 110 is offered in five calibers:
- 243 Winchester, 1:9.25 twist
- 6.5 Creedmoor, 1:8 twist
- 250 Savage, 1:10 twist
- 300 Savage, 1:10 twist
- .308 Winchester, 1:10 twist
“We at Savage are excited about this limited-edition opportunity and are happy to share this moment with our enthusiastic and loyal customers,” said Savage Marketing Director, Beth Shimanski.
“So far more than half of the rifles have been ordered and spoken for, so anyone interested in getting one of these rifles that represent our historic milestone should not delay,” Beth added.
Again, only 1,894 of these will be made. Choose any caliber, the MSRP is $1,499 and delivery is expected from 12-16 weeks after you place your order.

I bought the anniversary model in 250 Savage, a favorite caliber of mine not available from other mfg. The fit and finish is very well done! I worked up a load with Barnes 80 grain TTSX and got it down to a group measuring .318 inches. Pretty impressive for a factory rifle. I am very, very satisfied with the looks and performance of this rifle!
It’s my birthday next week. Someone needs to buy me a present. This will do just fine, I don’t care what caliber. Beautiful rifle.
I have a savage m. 110 30 06 . I bought it new in the 1970s and that’s the only gun i use for hunting and I still have it. 30 06 is the only cal. I will hurt with. And by the way I’m 65 years young and still love going hunting and camping.
Im trying to determine if the new anniversary is available for left handers. Sweet looking but if no availability for us lefties we were left out again.
If I am to purchase one of these for investment purposes, say a 20 years time horizon, which of the five calibers offered would be the best choice?

I have own a Savage 110 Premier grade rifle for over 45 yrs. It is often confused with a Weatherby because of the way it looks. It is totally unbelievable as to how it shoots. It is a left handed 30/06. The new model this article describe is as good looking as my rifle. Congratulation to Savage on 125 yrs and a very fitting tribute.
