In what could have been a tragic reenactment of the massacre that took place at an Orlando nightclub in 2016, a security guard in Huntsville, AL, shot and subdued a would-be killer before he could injure anyone at a local nightclub.
“As he tried to go towards the door… that’s where I had to go ahead and put him down,” the guard, who gave her name as Latoya, told local media.
Latoya explained that the suspect, 33-year-old Samuel Demario Williams, had been involved in an argument in the club, and security personnel had escorted him outside. That’s when he grabbed an AK-47 from his car and began firing.
“He started to make moves towards the door he still was firing off shots,” Latoya said.
“I decided that I had to make a choice–to go ahead and stop him from entering the club. I was behind a vehicle… basically just maneuvered around the vehicle as he maneuvered around the other side of it to make sure I was properly concealed and covered,” she added.
The guard shot Williams at least once, in the leg, and then helped treat his wounds.

“I’m not here to kill anyone,” she said. “I saw one of the entry wounds was on his thigh which can sometimes be a somewhat dangerous place to bleed out. I keep a trauma kit and tourniquet on me as everyone who carries a gun should.”
“Thankfully, he is still alive today,” she added. “One day he is going to have the opportunity to make better choices.”
Williams was released on bond after being charged with shooting into an unoccupied vehicle, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, menacing, and reckless endangerment. He was the only person injured.

The incident took place at 3208 Club in Huntsville during a New Year’s Eve party. Headlining the event was rapper Boosie BadAzz, who witnessed the incident and urged his fans on Instagram to “learn how to fucking act at my show.”
“Man, I just outside of the club 3208 and it just had a muthafuckin’ shootout in front of the club,” he said. “Shootout in front of the door, shit like the wild, wild, west, man.”
While the national mainstream media can be counted upon for wall-to-wall coverage of successful massacres, no large outlets have picked up this story beyond rap and gun-related publications.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing, and local media reports that authorities are seeking to question two women in relation to the incident, both of whom have been charged with “tampering with physical evidence.”
I was impressed at the cool matter fact way she described the actions she took. She stated the type of firearm he retrieved from his vehicle. When she shot him in the thigh, she knew the potential for killing this nutcase, she was very aware of the location of the femoral artery. He was drunk, she was not.
Maybe the COPS/SECURITY AT PARKLAND CAN TEACH HER HOW TO DO BETTER NEXT TIME..MAYBE GREAT JOB MISS..thats a FACT thk you.

Also, with clown judges letting him out, I wouldn’t trust the prosecutor to file charges on her with a CJ system like that…. Although she does a great job in the interview, if she were a police officer no way I’d let her make a statement. Too easy to say something out of context and then it’s there forever. I’d have the PIO give a general statement until the facts were in. And, then full backing of the officer. Again, great job by her. Judge that let him out, not so much.

For all the comments about what she should or should not have done, consider that this was at a night club on New Years Eve. The idiot with the AK was probably intoxicated and not in full control of his faculties. Shooting him in the leg, whether intentional or accidental, stopped the attack. Where does it say she re-holstered her pistol and turned her back to him? Maybe she had him covered as he fell and knew that he was no longer a threat. Why make a kill shot to a guy who was probably drunk who may not even remember what happened. None of you were there, so stop making idiotic opinionated suggestions on what she should have done. I’ve seen combat veterans who were not as clear thinking under fire.
Great job, Latoya!!!! Glad you and others are safe. One question. Why is he out on bond?!!!!!! Thinking felon with a gun, why?!!! Most people don’t carry AK-47’s in the trunk of their cars, unless they’re CRIMINALS!!! Why is he out on bond?!!!!!!!! They need to change the laws that let him out on bond, not the gun laws.

I can understand and respect her concern about killing someone, but it would have been a far better outcome if she had. He is obviously a psycho and no gun laws in any state are going to prevent him from getting a gun once he’s paroled (and he will be with the Liberal laws we have now) and seeking revenge on the world for whatever his issues are.

You don’t draw a gun unless you intend to use it. When you choose to use it, you must shoot to kill. One bullet to the leg that will leave a man conscious is not good enough. If he could still move, he would still be dangerous. There is no need to take chances. This guy was/is a menace to society. There is only one cure.
Its real easy to Monday morning quarter back this lady. She did damn good. Sure center mass is preferred but nobody on this forum was there and maybe she took a well placed shot at what body part was presented. A person can bleed out from a femoral artery shot almost as fast as a lung shot and a lot faster than a gut shot. The article clearly states there was a vehicle between them. Also, she took cover first which was the smart move for anyone if you have the opportunity and want to be effective. Blah: You NEVER shoot to kill, you shoot to stop the threat. I seriously doubt she intended to “maim” the suspect, as you put it. She shot to stop the threat and that’s exactly what she did. I highly doubt she intended to to shoot the suspect in the leg. She likely adhered to her training and aimed center mass. One round missed the suspect completely and the other round hit him in the thigh. Not everyone is a crack shot, especially under a real life threat that is shooting back at you. A real life gunfight is not like going to the range in your pajamas and shooting paper targets while you drink your coffee.
I don’t want to diss this young lady but aiming for a leg under the conditions described was in my view dangerous. The likelihood of hitting the leg was less than 50% under those conditions. That was a 2 to the chest situation.
She didn’t “aim” for the leg, that just happens to be where her round landed. Just like she didn’t try to miss the suspect with her first shot. A real life gunfight is a lot different than shooting paper targets or playing Call of Duty on your gaming console… Not everyone is Kris Kyle, sniper extraordinaire.
I am very impressed with LaToya’s actions in this event. In many ways she is a good example for all legally armed folks to follow. However, I can’t help noting that if you are going up against an AK-47 with a pistol, you need to be able to shoot better. I am glad for all concerned that the perp gave up after being hit in the leg. I’m not saying I could do any better in such a situation, but there it is.

Does the Texas Security manual allow a third? What if she missed and hit his leg, like probably happened during a fire fight.

I am surprised that the punk was released and more so that the charges did not include more serious ones.
Can you imagine if the Liberals ever got their way and disarmed everyone what the results of that event would have been? It’s only people who diss respect the law who would’ve had that gun and killed everyone at the club. This is yet another reason why there should be a national reciprocity of licenses to carry a gun lawfully.
