A new family of products from Senior Citizen Defender hopes to make it easier for people to safely handle and shoot handguns. These non-NFA foregrips give shooters a place to hold a handgun in front of the trigger guard with their support hand and mount aiming devices like laser sights on a wide range of firearms.
The design incorporates a grip similar to an angled foregrip, a muzzle shroud to protect the shooter’s support hand, and an extended accessory rail for lights and laser sights. This lets the user shoot from the hip with both eyes open and still make reliable hits on target.
The company plans to make versions that mount directly to guns with fixed barrels, as well as rail-mounted and frame-mounted models for use with common semi-automatic pistols and even revolvers.
It’s an interesting concept that will likely fit in well with other ease-of-use products including magazine loaders and slide rackers. By placing the support hand up next to the accessory rail it should also make it straightforward for shooters to operate lights and laser sight modules.
“Millions of seniors are terrified of a home invasion but have few firearm skills,” says Senior Citizen Defender. “Many are scared of guns and cannot aim one. They need the Senior Citizen Defender.”
“The senior market is very large and getting larger,” the company adds. “Many of these people do not own a gun or are scared of guns. Yet others may own a firearm that they keep in a drawer and do not practice with because they have great difficulty aiming it.”

“The Senior Citizen Defender solves these problems. It is easy to use. It isn’t scary. It makes aiming a laser simple and it allows you to fire from the hip, which gives you a full field of vision. This helps the comfort level of seniors, women and newbies with no firearm experience.”
The company also says that its designs will make it more fun to shoot, which means more practice and shooting time. The Senior Citizen Defender along with other products-to-be, including the “Woman’s Defender” and “ADA Pistol,” are intended to be used reliably at distances up to 30 feet.
Senior Citizen Defender expects to have a full website up and running as early as next month. Hopefully, we’ll get a better picture of how the company plans to get started.
Sorry to disappoint you , but it can be done on Hip shooting. During a Police shoot at a match, shot a perfect score on a Man sized silhouettes target. 12 rds in 20 sec. at 7 yds on 2 different targets from the hip. Oh that also involved a reload and shooting double action with a revolver.
i think ‘that’s great to help older people shoot easier and we ‘re going to get older one day i’m getting close myself.
This might have merit. I would suggest aiming the .22 cal pistol before you pull the trigger. Shooting from the hip only occured in Hollywood westerns not in real old west shoot outs. Today we see punks holding pistols nearly upside down and expecting to hit their target. Not happening. Those NUTS will spray out a hundred rounds and never come close to their intended target. AIM the darn thing. Even with a laser site you should aim at your target. At least you will be in the ball park if you aim.

John: The people in the add were aiming, they were using a laser to aim the gun. The laser is aligned with the sights on the gun so that when the red or green dot is seen, that is where the bullet will impact. It is not necessary to see the sights on the gun or even to gun, only the intended target needs to be seen. This method allows for quick target acquisition especially in low light and allows the shooter a better view of the target and the area around the target.
I’m not a Hi-Point fanboy, but I do have their 9mm carbine. With an inexpensive laser installed my wife and I can fire from the hip with home-defense accuracy. As well, Hi-Point offers .45ACP, 40 S&W, 9mm, .380 and 10mm in the carbine.
To be sure, there are much more accurate pistol carbines but at a much higher cost.
Interesting product. I like that a Ruger pistol is being used with this product. 22 LR is the place to start and get granny to the range! .22 for hd? Why not? Oh I know all the first tier operators will object Tough.Old folks( hey I’m one now!) better to have a .22 on hand when some punks kick in the door than harsh words.And light thire asses up! If a pistol doesn’t fit the bill than a 22 rifle has a shorter learning curve.
I’m 70 now and I still shoot the same 1911 government that was issued to me in January 1968. That happens to be a .45 ACP round coming out the tube. Even my tiny girlfriend loves shooting my 45. If I were you I wouldn’t mess with her, she has shot all the misses out of my old 45 as have I. So has her 13 year old son. and her middle son whose now an Army Sniper. As for me I’m a 100% Disabled American Veteran from the southeast Asian War Games. I can say with assurance that a 45 has more stopping power than that 22 LR. Use the biggest round you can handle. And never fire just one round. That way you have a better chance of surviving a criminal encounter.
To hell with the ATF or BATFE! They better check with Trump since he banned an accessory called the bump stock by changing the laws of physics and making it all by itself a Machine Gun!
No mention of BATFE Approval? Though it’s not a Verticle Foregrip, it is still a “Forward” Foregrip. I think MAGPUL got Approval for use of their AGF on handguns. We must recall that BATFE justification for requiring Fwd Vert Grips get an AOW Stamp before installation is ALL BASED ON handguns being originally designed to be fired with one hand and adding a foregrip is “manufacturing” changing that orig design to use two hands We know there have been two Cases where Judge/Magistrate said B.S. but that has not stopped BATFE intimidation.
Even with BATFE Approval, they hav a history of changing their “opinion”.

Yes, the ATF changes it’s mind every time the democrats tell them to. Talk about puppets! Pelosi Puppets. She’s a puppet herself. She hasn’t the mental capacity left to think for herself. Same goes for RBG in the Supreme Court.
