In a video message titled ‘One Million Gun Sense Voters,’ Shannon Watts the founder of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America touts the passage of I-594, Washington State’s universal background check measure on Tuesday.
“We made history,” Watts exclaims, about the ballot initiative that, if approved by the state legislature, will require background checks for all private transfers, including those made over the Internet and at gun shows.
The measure passed thanks in part to millions of dollars donated from various billionaires, including Michael Bloomberg, Bill Gates, and Steve Balmer.
Hoping to double down on her group’s success in Washington, Watts asks viewers to “Join your local Moms Demand Action chapter,” because “we have the momentum and together we will win this fight.”
If you could have a discussion with Ms. Watts, what would you say to her?
