Former Vice President Joe Biden jumped into the anti-gun mosh pit at a campaign stop in New Hampshire, recently, throwing his weight behind an “assault weapons” ban and “smart” gun technology, and suggesting that the Second Amendment does not “entitle” everyone to own a gun.
The “Second Amendment exists,” Biden intelligently noted, but stressed that the right to keep and bear arms does not mean that everyone is “entitled” to own a gun. Biden also touted his record as “the only one who took on the NRA on the national level and won” when he helped pass the 1994 “assault weapons” ban as the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman.
Biden, most famous for suggesting that homeowners defend themselves by firing two shotgun blasts “outside the house,” is trying not to let the other 20,000 Democratic presidential candidates outflank him to the left. With Sens. Cory Booker and Kamala Harris announcing radical gun control proposals in recent weeks, the former VP is hoping his existing anti-gun record will be enough to convince voters he’s serious about restricting Second Amendment rights.
But he’s also open to new ideas. Asked by the Washington Examiner about Booker’s national gun licensing proposal, Biden said he’d consider it.
“I’ve never heard of that before, I think it’s worth looking into,” Biden said. “I don’t know whether, where that is in terms of under the Constitution whether we’re able to do that. My guess is we could.”

While he admitted that “gun licensing will not change whether or not people buy what weapons, what kind of weapons they can buy, where they can use them, how they can store them, etc.,” he believes “smart” guns will get the job done.
Pivoting back to his tenure as Barack Obama’s VP, Biden told the Examiner, “one of the things we worked on early on, and I worked on with folks out in Silicon Valley, we should be able to make a weapon that, in fact, you can only, if you can buy it, can only be fired with James Bond kind of stuff, if it has your print on it. You’re the only one that can pull the trigger. That’s within our capacity to do that.”
As for school shootings, Biden argued during a Q&A session that “there are so many other things we can do to make schools safer, other than arming teachers,” but failed to specify what those other things were.

At the end of the day, Biden doesn’t blame the NRA or gun owners for gun-related violence. Gun manufacturers are the real problem.
“This is not just about the gun owners. It’s not even about the [National Rifle Association],” Biden said. “Sixty percent of the NRA agrees with what I was trying to do in the administration. They think there should be limitations.”
“It’s gun manufacturers. That’s where the money is,” Biden concluded.

A weapon is any item that can be used to harm or kill someone, or defend one’s self/family from a criminal attack. This can be a knife, hatchet, screwdriver, baseball bat, tire iron, pitchfork, motor vehicle, telephone cord, rope, rolled up newspaper, pen, frying pan, or just about any other item you can lay your hands on. (There have been several occasions in the past when I have had to use my cane to defend myself from an attacking dog.)
Until such time that a rifle, shotgun, or handgun is used in a criminal attack or defense from such, they are strictly a firearm.
It’s amazing the biden can actually think that he can just get a bunch of followers to do as he wishes with the constitution. Wasn’t this tried in the past? Didn’t work out well back then and it won’t now.
I’ll put it very bluntly…any firearms owner who votes for a democrap is a freaking idiot…no excuses! If a politician can abridge the Second Amendment then they can infringe on any of them. The democraps have laid down the challenge…every one of the clowns piling out of that clown car is bleating about more gun control and restrictions on the law abiding! Every damn one of them. And if you think I do then lets start licensing journalists in order for them to exercise their 1st Amendment right and exclude the ones who don’t agree with the Democratic agenda and/or the Republican platform. And lets take it even further, for instance licensing blacks and other minorities for their very right to exist under the 13th Amendment. That way we could get rid of every single gang member that infests our country!

Besides Federal law, specifically Title 18 U.S.C. § 922, already specifies who cannot possess a firearm.
It is the Federal Government’s responsibility to protect rights. The Government does not grant rights. We already have these rights.
