SIG’s New Limited Edition Commemorative Pistols Will Benefit Law Enforcement Memorial Fund

SIG Sauer is rolling out a trio of commemorative pistols in a limited run to benefit the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, the NLEOMF. A portion of each sale will go directly to the NLEOMF.

“This week is National Police Week and SIG Sauer honors our law enforcement officers that put themselves in harms way every day, while remembering those that paid the ultimate sacrifice,” said SIG vice president Tom Jankiewicz. “The production of these unique pistols will raise awareness for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, and provide funding to support the important work they do on behalf of our nation’s law enforcement officers.”

The three models walk the line between decorative and respectful. They include two 1911-pattern pistols and a P320. The polymer-framed, striker-fired P320 is the most subtle with a simple NLEOMF crest on the topstrap behind the ejection port.

The P320 is a Carry variant which has a compact slide with a full-size grip. It’s chambered for 9mm and has a 17+1-round capacity. The two 1911s take things a little further with their engravings.

First is the 1911 Stainless engraved with the memorial badge and rose, and their motto, “Respect, Honor, Remember.” On the left side, the slide is engraved with the quote “It is not how these officers died that made them heroes it is how they lived.”

The 1911 Nitron is the most embellished with the motto and crest on the side and the American flag with the Thin Blue Line flying across the top of the slide. Both 1911s are full-size .45s with an 8+1-round capacity.

Every gun comes with night sights and three magazines. The Stainless and Nitron come with blackwood and rosewood grips, respectively. A full library of photos with these guns with all their details is available online.

These guns will go on sale starting on June 1, exclusively through Kroll International. For each 1911 sold SIG will donate $100 to the NLEOMF and $50 for every P320.

Hopefully these pistols will be priced in-line with their retail counterparts with a premium, considering the added costs of engraving. It will be interesting to see how well these sell and may determine future commemorative products down the line.
