The much anticipated P210 Carry will be available mid-2020.

SIG has been going crazy with new releases lately, and one of the most anticipated new pistols is the USA-made P210 Carry. Based on the original P210, it’s downsized for carrying. True Pearce sat down with a product manager during SIG’s range day at SHOT Show 2020.

The P210 Carry is evidence that SIG listens to consumers. After the release of the P210 Target (see Clay Martin’s review here), a carry version of this venerable gun was highly requested.

The P210 is one of SIG Sauer’s original pistols and has been produced in various models for 60 years. The Carry has a 4″ barrel and G10 Grips in a dark gray.

The Carry sports front serrations and a light trigger.

Other additions include front serrations, a 4 lb trigger, and a wide thumb safety so you can carry cocked and locked. It’s single-action only.

The P210 Carry has an aluminum frame, making it significantly lighter than the steel-framed Target or Standard models. The magazines carry 8 rounds of 9mm.

The G10 grips and aluminum frame feel solid.

The P210 Carry onhand at the range and the show floor was a pre-production unit. Keep an eye on SIG’s page for the P210 for more details, and we’ll keep you updated with final specs and details. MSRP is expected to be about $1,299 and it should be in stores mid-2020.

I haven’t seen it at my LGS yet. Eagerly awaiting. I’ve owned two Legends. If this gun can compare in accuracy, people like me will happily scarf them up no matter what the more frugal of our species think.

I’m looking to buy my first handgun. I have shot some over the year’s, and hunted, but my first actually handgun buy. I’ve heard Sig is one of the best, and I want something to carry, that’s accurate. Is this a good choice ? Thanks

ShortNsweet: I tried the US adj site 210 Target & managed to walk my grouping down to an inch within 15 shots @ 35 ft., freehand. In 40 years of shooting I’ve only found two other (concealable) autos capable of that level of inherent performance: my H&K P7M8 & a pals S&W 1911 Pro Series compact .45 both of which cost $1000+. Good luck scoring a vital STOPPING hit on a perp who’s likely to be MOVING and FIRING BACK at you, with your E-Z2carry $400 compact/polymer pocket ‘bargain’ gun. My life’s worth more than that to me, & I want a pistol that’s capable of shooting MORE accurately than I can even hold it. ‘Nuff said.

What a bunch a bitch’s damn. If you dont like the gun move along why comment , ??

  • Ej harbet February 4, 2020, 9:23 am

What causes me to want a p210 with me is a perceived need for maximum accuracy in a handgun and the original one is legendary for just that. If I’m going down to the grocery store my g19 will do.

  • JoshO February 3, 2020, 3:22 pm

Not even close. The HK P7M8 is and always will be.

  • Beachhawk February 3, 2020, 12:59 pm

I’m sure the Sig 210 is a fine pistol, but why on Earth would I want to carry an 8-round 9mm pistol that is that big and heavy, when I can carry a 10-12 round 9mm pistol that weighs and costs about half as much?

A few of my friends went to the Harrisburg show this past weekend looking specifically for this type of firearm. I wish it was available then. All three of us would of purchased it but as you indicated the price quoted will clearly knock it out of the picture! I believe it would be the hottest think that it the market if it was under $800.00. We will keep it in mind but at this time still looking.

    Oh C’mon!
    This is old hat stuff!
Sure, it’s probably a reliable piece, but so are several others in this category and at a lower price point!
Big damn deal. The SIG name is NOT that great people, not over S&W, H&K, Glock, and several others, all at a LOWER price point for a basic carry gun.

Unless I’m working and have to carry issued 9mm, I’ll stick with my .45acp w/JHP. Especially since I have a 10mm conversion for hog hunting if I want it.

Meth has come back heavy along with gangs I want as much stopping power and rounds as possible. A friend just bought a 365SAS $400 cash plus a Glock 30 & 8 magazines he’s a lefty. Took it to the range 50 rounds of SIG 9mm ammo and the feeding ramp had to be polished out of the box.

The local dealer said that quality control was all over the place, on everything he had been getting lately from SIG & Smith M&P’s.

I carry a German 229 in .40 for EDC, or 10 r+1, 1911 customized .45 2017cost me less than the new 210 and my 1970’s Browning High Power and near mint Colt SP-1 paid $1,100 for those 2 combined last July 2019.
Can’t pocket carry but an untucked polo shirt conceals well.

My West German & German Sigs never had a problem with other than mags are ridiculously priced for Sig brand name. The MecGar $15 less locally and they make them for Sig.
Local dealers are selling nearly all at MSRP 10-15% off for First Responders.

Glock 43X w/15 rd after market mags… 🤷‍♂️ Can’t beat that. It took an outside company to do what Glock should have but.. hey, I’ll take it.

  • Allan McKinney February 3, 2020, 8:45 am

A single action carry gun? Come on, 1911 has come and is long gone. The P365 sits in my holster. My 1911s are in the safe.

  • Chris Adams February 3, 2020, 8:43 am

    I’ts SA only.
It has an 8-round mag count in a world of 10+ round carry guns
It has an exposed hammer just begging to snag on something
It’s double the cost of actual carry guns that are better fit for the duty (SIG’s own P365 would be a smarter choice)
It weighs 2lbs and is over 8″ long. Harry Callahan might go for it.

“Best Carry Gun” is completely ignoring the realm of blatant facts, I’m afraid.
It would have to be SA/DA, 18 rnd count, hammerless, weigh 2oz and be as concealable as a chap-stick to be considered for that nomination.

SIG should seriously consider dropping that ‘Carry’ part of the name and call it the SIG P210 Bed Side Companion.

Still, it is a good looking gun. Just needs more capacity to be a great range plinker. It has great fun appeal and I love the styling.

  • Sig enthuaist February 3, 2020, 8:22 am

$1300. We are talking the price range of a nice 1911. 1911 is fully customizable. P210 is not. Why no stainless frame like the target edition. Sig make some carry stainless pistols. If buyer are really concerned with weight they will go polymer.

  • Paul February 3, 2020, 7:38 am

“Greatest carry gun ever made?” Sig’s already done that – the P365. It’s lighter, smaller, with more capacity. The 210 might be a very good gun, but this article is nothing but Shot Show gushing.

  • tyler kent February 3, 2020, 6:44 am

$1,300 for an 8-round carry gun? Good luck with that.

  • Jim Hovater February 3, 2020, 6:27 am

You would think that SIG could figure out how to get 10 rounds in the P210 magazine by now. The 8+1 round count is more of a deal breaker for me than the price. I have 10+1 capacity in my Kimber 9mm ProCarry. Why switch?

  • Mike Cornett February 3, 2020, 5:56 am

If it’s ‘Kind of’ too big to carry…You won’t. You want something that is very small
and light. A pistol that will easily slip into your pocket.
I carry a Sea Camp 380. I put it in my back pocket with no holster.
I hope I never have to use it. It’s a big responsibility to carry a firearm.
Be smart. Never pull it out to intimidate someone…
Use it as a last resort.

    • Walleye February 3, 2020, 2:23 pm

You “… carry a Sea Camp 380. I put it in my back pocket with no holster.”
Conventional wisdom dictates that you’ll eventually shoot your A$$ off.
      Good luck with that.

  • Juan García February 3, 2020, 5:44 am

No ambidextrous safety for ya lefty’s?? What a letdown

  • Corey Sledd February 3, 2020, 5:35 am

It’s probably worth it if it’s like the other 210s

  • Troop Emonds February 3, 2020, 3:57 am

Have been waiting for a 6” P210 with bull barrel in 9mm

Want to compare it to my bespoken 1911, 9mm, 6” target gun. It is very accurate. Have heard the 6” P210 is the most accurate 9mm ever made.

The American Sig Company in New Hampshire is supposed to come out with a 6” Sig p-210

  • ken January 30, 2020, 1:40 am

twelve hundred and ninety nine dollars? no thanks

    • Christopher Kennedy February 3, 2020, 4:48 am

$400 for the gun, $899 for the name…

      • jesse kuhns February 3, 2020, 4:44 pm
