40 second commercial with about 5 seconds of gun photage. Looks like the sights are all polymer as well. I could see if this was months in advance having a commercial like this, but a few days away?

Rotating barrel? Be still my heart

    Interesting.

From the little that they show, we can safely say striker-fired and polymer, but I am confused by what looks like a side-opening ejection port. Not a typical design feature for a modern centerfire, as it would (1) preclude the current SIG-style (modified browning) lock-up arrangement between barrel and slide, and (2) would work against reliable ejection. This type of ejection port is more common on straight-blowback designs. Could this be a competition 22? That seems inconsistent with the advertisement’s action-shooting “competition” theme, but that ejection port has me wondering.

Other clues are a manual safety and a trigger that looks like it was lifted from the Spectrum. Also, the size of the grip frame suggests a centerfire, possibly a double-stack.

    Anyone else have any thoughts?

Probably 9mm, being competition ready. Side port is easily doable. Just a matter of where you put the ejector. If it is a rotating barrel (like the Beretta storm, Colt 2000, etc), even easier.
Looks to be mainly plastic. Personally, I am not a fan of Taurus, sold way too many and had very irate customers constantly bringing them back to be sent back to Taurus for repair. Stopped stocking them after a while. Just too much of a pain.
