Tennessee Rep. Steve Cohen, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, doesn’t believe that good guys with guns stop bad guys with guns in America. Like, ever.

No joke.

“Show me a case, please — we didn’t have them in Memphis — where a good man or woman with a gun protected and stopped the use of a weapon,” said the Democrat, recently.

“That canard doesn’t occur. That just…dog won’t hunt,” he insisted.

Rep. Cohen, you or your handlers need to start reading GunsAmerica.  We report on “defensive gun use” (DGU) stories all the time.  You know, instances where citizens use firearms to protect themselves and their loved ones from armed perps who wish to do them harm.

We even have a hashtag, DGU, to make it easy for readers to reference these accounts.  Go ahead, click the hashtag, not only will you find one account, you’ll find hundreds.

Oh yes, and you might find this interesting.  That is the FBI Uniform Crime Report for 2020.  According to the data presented, armed private citizens killed more criminals during the commission of a felony last year than law enforcement.

Per the numbers, armed good guys terminated 343 suspected felons while police fatally shot 298.

As our friend Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, observed with respect to the FBI’s report, “The use of deadly force is not something anybody wants but neither is being injured or killed by some thug during a violent criminal attack.”

“Self-defense may be the oldest natural right, and every time we hear some politician, public official or gun control extremist call for citizen disarmament, we have to wonder which side they’re on,” he continued. “It certainly can’t be on the side of public safety.”

With due respect Rep. Cohen, whose side are you on?

Cohen is a perfect example of someone suffering from a cranial rectal inversion. He’s a oar just like old joe, and stupid.

  • Bill November 22, 2021, 9:45 pm

How do stupid people like this keep getting elected?

  • Roger Rienstra October 30, 2021, 8:33 am

And remember, it’s only Republicans who ever engage in “disinformation” campaigns. Robert Mueller, call your office.

I moved from Memphis in the early 80’s. This creep is a disgrace to all intelligent people who are unlucky to have to reside in that shithole. I’ve never seen a white male want to be black so bad in my life! But, he knows what to do to keep himself in power through his voting block’s ignorance.

    • Alan S October 30, 2021, 10:01 am

He wants to be black worse than Michael Jackson wanted to be white.

He’s just a senile, uncaring, old fool, just like Biden. He’ll say anything anybody wants to hear just to get re-elected and doesn’t have the mental capacity for understanding or originating a thought. Like many politicians, he lives and works in this protected little environment with armed guards at every door. If he ever had to live in the real world, his views may change, or he may become a quick casualty. Survival takes a little intelligence.

    I’ve stopped bad guys, twice.
Once while on the job as a bartender, when a guy whacked out on meth/crank started trouble and was actively coming over the bar at me. Nothing was slowing him down or stopping him… Until he saw a .45 caliber drain pipe pointed at his head. His survival instinct kicked in and he stopped advancing but, he wouldn’t leave, back off or even stop staring wilde-eyed at me and threatening me… Right up until the cops drug him off. Anybody in his right mind would have been long gone by then.
The second time was on my property, out of town, up our 1/4 MI. long blind drive. Some guys in a pickup showed up at the top of the circle which was the driveway rounding past the house and back to the main driveway. They stayed there, lights pointed at the house (no other reason to be that far up private property) and music going. I came onto the porch to see if I could “help tbem.” The driver got out, said he was looking for Joe blow (nobody there by that name) and I told him “wrong place.” Instead of saying thanks and leaving, he kept insisting it was the right place and wanted to come forward. I insured him it wasn’t and asked him to leave. At this point he started becoming more insistent and started towards the house, in his truck, lights blinding his approach.
As I stepped forward, raising my then obscured shotgun loaded with slugs to my shoulder and telling him to stop, turn and leave, he did so, with no more words or apologies or anything to indicate an innocent purpose.
About an hour later, the cops (whom I knew) showed up at the house, asking if I’d seen three guys in a brown truck and that they’d been involved in a robbery and were “in the area.” I told him my story and he said that they were probably looking for a place to hold up and quite likely would have used force to do so, as they had committed armed robbery and assaulted someone. I looked at the cops and repeated “wrong house.” They chuckled, said glad I was safe and call them if I saw them again.
Both of these incidents went without official reports being given by me, threat over and nothing happened. Just as happens every day in this country.

Here’s another fine example of a irresponsible, dishonest, Progressive liberal American politician who swore an oath to uphold the Constitution but instead uses it for toilet paper on a daily basis, You sir are a liar and should be run out of office!!!%

  • JAMES BARCHOK October 29, 2021, 11:44 am

He doesn’t see these incidents reported because he doesn’t want to see them. It is simply a case of intentional blindness.

  • Jeff Mitchell October 29, 2021, 11:31 am

As a former Tennessean, I can tell you he is a total Baffoon and always has been. His district is probably 90 percent African American. He panders to get re-elected every year. This guy in no way reflects the typical Tenn politician. He is more akin to Maxine Waters

  • Shawn October 29, 2021, 10:49 am

Has he never read Professor John Lott’s studies or books? I expect illiterate anti-gun politicians, but this is troubling.

  • David Cargile October 29, 2021, 10:40 am

If you look in the dictionary under ignorant scumbag it says ” See Steve Cohen.”
