America’s public school system is doing its part to unofficially raise the legal age to purchase a firearm, and they’re trolling social media to do it.
Just days after pro-2A Parkland survivor Kyle Kashuv was “interrogated” by school police for posting a picture of himself at a gun range, another young man has been suspended after his father did the same.
Ken Bone, who became famous as the “Red Sweater Guy” during a 2016 presidential debate, posted an image on Twitter of his son at a gun range in an effort to support Kashuv’s efforts.

Three days later, he found out that his son had been suspended from school and that police had launched an investigation.

“I’m not sure what the school wants investigated,” Bone told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “There’s no threat to the school — the picture is over a year old.”

“I just wanted to tell (Kashuv), you didn’t do anything wrong, you were learning to shoot with your father, I do the same thing with my son,” he said.
Bone posted the photo himself since his son doesn’t have a Twitter account, and he says their visit to the range took place long before his son started attending his current school, St. Clair ROE Safe School.
Bone said he received a call from a detective with the Belleville Police Department, who informed Bone that they would call the principal of his son’s school the next morning.
School officials told the Post-Dispatch that they cannot comment on an ongoing investigation. The school’s student handbook prohibits the use, possession, control, or transfer of a weapon, though it is unclear if this policy applies off campus.
The handbook also states that “any police involvement will be accompanied by a suspension from school and parents will be required to return to school with student for a disciplinary conference.” If another Twitter user identified Bone’s son and called the police, the school may have automatically suspended the young man after being notified.
It remains unclear why the police opened an investigation into an “incident” that is so clearly benign.
“I’m glad they’re looking out for the safety of the kids, but this seems like something that could be settled with a phone call or a meeting with school officials,” Bone said. “The photo was taken before he even went to that school. He hasn’t done anything wrong or illegal. And it was said by me, so there’s no reason to punish him for it.”

I would hire an attorney and sue the school for placing my son/daughter under such stress. They are profiling your child only because he is learning to shoot. We get enough parents to stand up for their rights and the school starts filing claims with their insurance companies, just maybe this nonsense will stop!

Personally, I think it’s time to start hitting these school districts in the pocketbooks or rather, the voters pocketbooks. Class action lawsuits seeking millions of dollars in damages may put the screws to these assheads and their attempts to re-educate red blooded Americans into slobbering, whiney, and pathetic young humans. The NWO or whoever is running the big show is getting exactly what they want. Generations of inept/incompetent voters that have been ‘Pavloved’ to vote to destroy themselves. You are exactly right! The public school system has no right to monitor or regulate your child’s activities outside of school property and while they are not under the school’s control. There is no reasoning with these so-called liberal educators so the only way to keep them under control is by threatening the money supply with their financial administrators and controllers. Civil suits cost money, either from the municipality or from an insurance company. Either way, the taxpayer pays for it and at some point, a lot of people are going to be getting pissed off.
I find it sick that the governor of ny has the ability to shut down gun permits. I bet he has one at home!!!!!
I personally would be contacting an Attorney to file a lawsuit against the school and possibly the police dept for violating my sons civil rights
I have lost all respect for MOST teachers because they interject personal politics, and personal feelings, into their lesson plans. In the case of students being suspended for things like wearing an NRA “T” shirt, posting a picture at the gun range, or writing an essay on the benefits of the second amendment what else could you expect from a group of brain washed, liberal thinking, people. They suspended a first grader because the bite he took out of his pop tart gave the, small minded, teacher the idea that it than looked like a gun. I think that instead of having “GUN FREE ZONES” we should have “LIBERAL FREE” zones to give the real people a break.

I must disagree. I am a retired public-school teacher. I taught in a high school in a very conservative NW Ohio town. I would guess approximately 80% of our faculty were Prog/Fasci (Libturd) fools. They followed the National Education Association’s marching orders almost without fail. No offense to women, but nearly all of our female faculty members believed the NEA’s nonsense. To a woman (at least the ones i spoke with about politics) they voted for Obama. Unfortunately for our students, females comprised 75% of our faculty. The majority of our male faculty members were conservative and very supportive of the Second Amendment.
From experience, I believe teachers are, by nature, inclined toward security and regimentation. Just a quick history lesson: German teachers were some of Adolf Hitler’s most ardent supporters once he took power. If you don’t believe me, just do a little research. It is there.
Interesting tidbit: I NEVER had one male student tell me he was in favor of more anti-gun laws. I DID have numerous female students tell me they supported more restrictive gun laws.
I can only imagine what teachers in Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati must think. It is scary!
I come from the “Deep South”. We had 5-6 students handling guns on our high school campus and about 400 shots fired on campus daily. No one ever got hurt. It was our high school rifle team which I shot on and I later shot in my college rifle team. A large SEC team.
Our high school had a requirement that all males entering 9th grade were required to take a year of ROTC. During that year long course we were required to learn to maintain and shoot a rifle – an M14 for our age group (back in the mid ’70s). Also learned about the evolution of military tactics, weapons, etc. Via this educational requirement EVERY graduating male would have had to learn firearm safety, maintenance and proper use. There were no “conscientious objectors”. In fact, it was so popular that about 50% of those required 9th graders continued with ROTC as an elective through graduation; I finished as a Lt Colonel.
I am happy to say that the program is still alive and well at my hometown high school 45 years later and still not a single mishap or injury due to the firearm use on campus! And no graduate of the ROTC program has ever ended up in trouble with the law due to firearm related crimes.
Unfortunately, my college did away with the rifle team ~ 1980-1981. Why? They claim Title IX made any athletic competition that didn’t favor female athletes was to be discontinued. About half our rifle team starters were female – all there on scholarship. Yep, they all lost their rifle team scholarships! Stupid unintended consequences!
I’m a gun owning member of the NRA and I taught mostly women in the college of nursing at multiple schools. The nra is full of women voters. Teachers, nurses, educated women!!!
School is not what it used to be. To many politics and to far left and to much politically correct. Get rid of them. Home school with computers and look how much money it saves. Students can take classes at home with a free computer given from the community (whomever), or the rich ones can buy their own. That’s the way it is now anyway. Teachers can record their lessons on tape and students can watch at home. They do it in colleges all over the country so now it’s time to do it in the schools too. To bad, but it protects everybody, and the kids can’t be brainwashed at school. Just raised at home by their parents rather than babysit in schools.
Home schooling produces kids with little to no social skills,

My wife and I have raised 4 sons, all educated at home. All 4 played a variety of team sports, attended camps, etc., and have extraordinary social skills. All 4 aced school, scoring at the top of standardized tests.
All 4 have great careers: 1 is a firefighter, who lost a leg in an accident, has a prosthetic leg–and maxes physical training tests, outscoring men with 2 legs and 15 years his junior.
Another is a Lieutenant with his fire department. Sons #1 and #2 are with the same department, which is both a large and highly competitive department.
Both of those sons also teach classes, and both are members of an elite state and federal search and rescue team.
Social skills? Science education?They have both in abundance.
Another son manages a national distribution center for the largest home and garden chain store in the country. The 4th, lamentably, is an attorney.
Does it sound like any of them was shortchanged in their education? Or that they missed out on anything? Yes, they did miss out on the rampant drug mess in government schools. They didn’t have any confusion about their sexual orientation or which bathroom to use. They didn’t hang out with snowflakes. But they did get an excellent education, one which had all 4 studying college level courses when they were still in 7th grade. They also know and appreciate the US Constitution, they salute the flag and they stand for the national anthem. And, yes, they are all accomplished marksmen and they fulfill their duty to protect their families.
Their ages range from 35 to 50 years. Their complete and utter success in life belies the claptrap promulgated by the NEA and other leftist/fascist “progressives”. Oh, and they’ve produced a bunch of grandchildren–home educated as well!
As I said on another “comments” site here, it’s just a matter of time they target kids taking a state’s Hunter Safety course just because it is associated with activity that involves “GUNS”, just you wait and see……
I am 74 years old and have always held very liberal political views. Nonetheless, I own a number of firearms, some of which uninformed people call “Assault Rifles”. Why I own these firearms has nothing to do with Politics, I own them because an armed citizenry can defend themselves against other’s who might wish to take their lives. All my relatives who still lived in Poland during WW2 were killed by the Nazis. Had they been armed, they might have still died, but not like lambs being led to the slaughter. I am not suggesting that Nazis are going to suddenly appear and try to kill all the Jews living in Maryland, but in today’s uncertain times, who knows what might happen.
Firearms are not to useful if the owners are not trained in the proper use of arms.

In filing a lawsuit, name administrators and board members as well as the entity. Just the school district does not catch the attention of individuals. Describe the full damages to include lost lectures and assignments. Be sure to emphasize the off-campus nature of the activity.
I tell people all the time to get your kids out of government indoctrination camps, aka public schools. Home schooling is not that difficult. My wife and I, working different shifts and no teaching background, did it with our son for a year because we couldn’t get him into an already full private school. When he took their entrance exam the following year he passed with flying colors. There are many home schooling programs available. We chose the Abeeka program. And with home schooling growing in popularity you have families organizing support groups. Plus he stayed active in sports and church youth activities to meet his social needs.

Well this is where the schools now MIS-use their POWER, entrusted to them by the people, to punish a child for an adult posting a picture of both of them engaged in lawful, innocent conduct.
I have a great idea now. Let’s sue the school administration and get some money out of them for being ignorant pigs. And while we’re at it, let’s get them all fired, and prove to them that when you misuse power entrusted to you by your constituents, to silence people you disagree with, you invite a lot of trouble.
It’s shameful that an innocent father son outing can be turned into an activity to be suspended for. Where is the NRA and GOA, they should be suing the pants off of these people. Superintendents of school districts have to be elected, vote out the bad ones before it’s too late.
Ya gotta understand that the school administrators are official members of the thought police. If they determine that you have visualized a gun, or thought about a gun, you must be crucified. AND they will do anything they can do destroy your life.
It’s time to start filing civil rights, class action lawsuits against these school systems when they pull stunts like this. Most of these school systems don’t even have enough money to keep the schools properly supplied with learning materials, or pay the teachers properly. Where will they get the money to fight off multiple lawsuits? Hit them where it hurts….in the pocketbook!
The problem with suing a school district is that the actual abusers and culprits are not actually punished. If the lawsuits are won the district pays and it is the CHILDREN in the district who loose out. The abusive teacher keeps getting paid and the school board keeps making idiotic rules and decisions.
The ONLY WAY a lawsui would be eff votive is to name and sue EACH PERSON INVOLVED for pecuniary damages. Severe enough damages that they would THINK before acting. Say 15% or 20% of their total, gross individual earnings for a period of 10 to 20 years. Additionally they AND THEIR ATTORNEYS should be made to pay any and all court and defense fees.
They should also be required to purchase, train with, and maintain a minimum to two each of the rifles, handguns, and shotguns they “fear” most as firearms they believe should be banned. Along with their purchases they should be made to integrate weekly, 30 minute classes for their students where they teach the importance of the 2nd Amendment as well as firearm safety. This would FORCE the school board to permit the firearm to be brought to the school. Children should learn something of value while in class.
The school board should also be made to build an indoor range and include mandatory firearms instruction and inter school competitions as used to be done (many of the older schools will already have old, unused but still available, ranges for .22 caliber in their attics).
The battle is being won by the left in the public schools. We willingly send our children to these indoctrination centers. If you don’t pull your children out of public schools, the battle is lost.
I agree with Mad Dog Mike…..sue the shit out of the school district and then go after the police department. I’d go after the school district for harassment of an person exercising a Constitutional right and then hit the police with abuse of power and for intimidation of a person exercising a Constitutional right. I’m not sure if the state’s penal code has either of these actions defined as illegal but a good 2A attorney should be able to help determine if these were illegal acts. Lastly, I’d remove my son from that shithole school that is run by fucking libs.

The school and police need to see a suit against them for multi millions of dollars for civil rights infringements. When some one begins to make an example of them and their violation of those civil rights, maybe they will start to get off their band wagons to do what they are paid to do, that is to teach history, reading, writing, etc.
i am a decorated retired officer from the U.S.M.C. and i have four sons ranging in age from 36 to 25 years of age. i personally trained each one from the age of 12 how to handle,carry and respect any firearm. i also taught them respect for the 2nd amendment and the responsibility that comes with it.we must always remeber that guns do not kill people but the p erson behind the gun does the killing.aiways remember that gun do not kill,people do.otherwise we would have to outlaw cars because almost 8 times of deaths are caused by auto wrecks than gunshots. semper fi
What a different response this young man’s school would have if he:
Dressed in girls clothes and used the girls’ restroom.
Or marched for legalization of recreational drugs.
Or joined a Black Lives Matter demonstration and threw rocks at police officers.
Then this young man would have been regarded as a hero by his school administrators.
Make no mistake: the Left (progressives, liberals, whatever they call themselves) hate America and think it needs to be destroyed. Their view, we need to become like the Socialist paradises Cuba, China, Albania, North Korea.
We who understand true freedom and value the Constitution will not survive unless we fight! We need to VOTE, every election, even those boring city council and school board elections, because that’s where the traitors first get their start. Make your purchasing decisions based on the ideology of businesses, not just because their product is cool. I’ve refused to buy Levi’s jeans for over 30 years because they promoted gay Scoutmasters. We need to demonstrate and show our strength out on the public streets. And I’m not talking open carry marches. I’m talking about showing up at rallies for Conservative political candidates, showing up at Conservative Values rallies like those held by the Billy Graham organization. I’m talking about being at school board meetings to protest wrongs like the young man in this article being suspended.
We need to be running for public office. If we sit back and say “I don’t have time for that. Nothing important is done by city councils,” that’s when the Left gets in to do their dirty deeds.
We need to write to our government representatives. Believe me, they frequently hear from the other side. Tell them you are angry and disappointed when they fail to abide by the will of the People. Why do we still have an unsecured open border? Why do we have gay marriage? Why do we have more restrictions on our Constitutional Rights? It’s because we’ve ignored Congress and didn’t raise hell when they ignored us. Remember, 5 old idiots on the Supreme Court do not rule this Nation. Maybe getting rid of them isn’t that easy, but Congress can make laws that work around court decisions. If we demand it.

Since when can a school reach into your personal off campus life to tell you what is okay to do with your kids? Going to the range with your son is a family tradition. Whats next, detention for going hunting? Can a father bring his kids out hunting without them being expelled? How is this school not under investigation for invasion of privacy? I am not a parent, I do have 30+ nieces/nephews and I worry for them and the world they are bring their kids into. The trick of \”big brother\” is doing this horrible stuff in very small increments as not to bring too much attention to light at any one time. After Reading through the student manual the first thing that strikes me is that it reads like a manual for a Prison Camp. Had such rules been in place in the sixties when I attended grade schools, it’s clear that the entire population of boys would be on suspension or under police interrogation.
A school administration that thinks it has the right to control and limit a students family activities outside of the school must be run by an administration schooled in Marxist doctrine.
This event is an insight into what an America run by the gang of DNC Communists would be like. Except the Students manual would be a citizens manual and that every citizen would be monitored for their activities.
The school is for kids with behavioral problems that would get them expelled from any other public school. I think they may need stricter rules to control themselves.
