I’m anxious to get to handle (and likely buy?) one of these. It looks very simular to the High Standard Double Nine of the 60’s, particularly the cylinder release mechanism. Those were excellent revolvers and I expect this will be also as Diamondback has an excellent reputation.

I brought back a single action .22 convertible shooter from my stay in Germany in the mid-60’s and this brings back old memories of those times hunting “cans and empty bottles” deep in the backwoods of PA. That old gun now shows so much age in the finish and overall appearance and it has such wear on the trigger sear that the trigger has become such a light “hair” trigger that I stored it away for safety’s sake years ago.
And, as ammo again soars to the stratosphere in pricing, I have limited my target practice to minimal shooting of what I was accustomed to doing.

For a modern .22 convertible, priced at around $325.00 MSRP with the new innovations including DA/SA and new cylinder release, I will have to give serious thought to buying one to do a bit of plinking again. With a limited income of Social Insecurity to equip myself with ammo at today’s prices, this may be the only way I can still get to the range on weekends to enjoy the target shooting I once valued so much. Thanks to Diamondback Firearms for a chance to relive some of the earlier enjoyment of an Old OutdoorsGuy again!
I brought back a .22 convertible from my stay in Germany in the mid-60’s which looks much like this shooter. It has seen much use since that time and shows much wear on its blued finish and overall appearance. A very cheaply made gun at a very cheap price, around 250 DM [a Deutsche Mark in the 60’s was valued at about 0.25 USD or 4 “Marks” to the Dollar]. The sear on the trigger ass’y is worn off to such a state as to be too light a “hair” trigger for me to attempt to shoot safely any longer.
So, I am quite glad to see this handgun available today for less than $325.00 and in both single and double action to boot!

I haven’t bought a firearm since I moved to FL 20 years ago, as my inventory suited my needs, but I do have to give this one serious thought as one of my favorite hobbies was [and will be again maybe] can and bright colored target “hunting”. My aim is still good but Arthur has found a home in my thumbs now so that double action may be a selling point for me. Glad to see this writeup as I don’t often click on sidebars when I want to read a main story on GA.
