‘Top 5 Guns Found in Evidence Lockers,’ according to Iraqveteran8888

Authors S.H. Blannelberry

This was an interesting and informative video, courtesy of Iraqveteran8888.

Though, as he points out in discussing the guns that made the list, “In no way are we suggesting that these firearms are more desirable for criminal activity, they are however in a class that makes them more readily available as ‘throw-away’ guns for example in illegal activities.”

Put another way, these firearms tend to have one or more of the following things in common, that is, they’re relatively inexpensive, reasonably reliable and/or widely available.

Can you guess the top five guns found in evidence lockers?

Found a kid walking down the sidewalk, in the busines district, with anartillery Luger.
It was a pristine and beautiful gun that he had taken from his father’s collection.
I retired as a Sargent of police in 1997.

The SIG is a weapon of choice by criminals because of it’s workmanship. The Ruger is a weapon of choice by criminals because it is junk. Ruger is one of the greatest guns made in the USA. Just because they don’t charge an extra grand to a weapon because on it’s name make the Ruger a throw away. I can see no matter how many rifles and accessories you put behind you on weapons you know little. You have been taking notes when listening to Sarah Brady as every weapon ever made is the weapon of choise of criminals, terrorist and drug pushers. I’ll bet if you had some real facts instead of just opinion you would find the RG and Raven top that list and the Ruger is no place near what you believe. Ruger junk? Give the intelligent people a break

Skip to 1:51 to see the first one. The hundreds of thousands of man-years wasted by people viewing unnecessary intro in YouTube videos is downright criminal. (Over 6 billion hours are watched each month. If that is around 30 billion videos and they each waste one or two minutes that is between 5,000 and 10,000 man-years per month. 30,000 to 60,000 years of productivity lost per year.)

Surprised about the Sigma. I’ve only seen one Sigma in the wild in my life.
I wouldn’t have thought the Hi-Point would have been as common, either. I wouldn’t think original selling price and/or quality would be that much of a determinate of secondary market pricing. It looks intimidating, it spits out bits of metal at high velocity… The brand, appearance, durability, mechanism, etc shouldn’t factor into it. A Hi-Point should be priced about the same as a Kimber in this situation.
The cal. .22 doesn’t surprise. In 30 years as a paramedic who’s handled a lot of gunshot trauma, 90% or better have been wounded with a cal. .22. They are everywhere. Even if you’re not really “into” firearms, most people seem to have a .22 stashed somewhere. Don’t get me started about the idiots who shoot themselves trying to do the ‘quick draw.’ Fortunately, most of those were .22s, also.
    SKS surprises me.

Is the old Colt revolver for sale? How much?

  • Mynickelsworth January 1, 2015, 11:17 am

I agree with Mach37. Where is the LIST? I am sick of silly videos. When are people going to learn to write. Only illiterates want to get everything by video.

  • Greg Huffman January 1, 2015, 10:54 am

I like the video and the top five chosen are spot on. The only problem I have with it is that Chad blatantly violates safety rule #2 by pointing the Smith and the Hi-Point directly at his weak hand, several times. Firearms professionals should lead by example. I tell my students to memorize these in order – then live by them. They were also written by shooters – not attorney’s
1 – All guns are ALWAYS loaded
2 – Never allow the muzzle to cover anything you are not both WILLING and JUSTIFIED to destroy
3 – Finger stays off trigger until sights are on target
4 – know your target and what lies beyond it

As with many gun store owners and the media they keep mentioning black market guns. What do they consider the black market?

  • Ron Vansant January 1, 2015, 8:49 am

Well fellas, I tend to agree with most of you when it comes to watching videos, but the title of the original line specifically says “top ten tubers” aka: you tube videos. Alas, ” the top five guns in evidence lockers” is just one of them. So, that means we were forwarned of video after video. An awful lot of chatter over nothing.

Why does it frustrate so many of us that they won’t list the guns? It’s a simple answer!
We’re so manipulated by those with access to mass media who refuse to give straight answers.
When a politician is asked a “yes-or-no” question, and he starts citing statistics, or when any representative for any group blames people he won’t name: our instincts have been honed to suspect an agenda, and we remind ourselves what we’ve learned from experience. Information that does not have an agenda is straightforward.

I’m genuinely curious why you MEALY-MOUTH ASSWIPES waste your exceptionally valuable time even coming here. Don’t like the product? Find somewhere else to go. Like New York or California. I’m sure you’ll find plenty of turd rollers just like yourselves to relate to.

If it says you need flash, I need to move on, and do.

  • Dave August 18, 2014, 6:10 pm

Boy, there’s 12 minutes of my life I’ll never get back. What a complete waste of time.

    • Rooster August 20, 2014, 10:00 pm

Anyone who writes or even thinks that way, has wasted too many hours reading Harlequin Romance novels to ever worry about any time spent on watching any videos on this website. Grow a pair pal, this “there is an hour and a half of my life I’ll never get back” is something that was clever in 1996 when The Olde Cow Belle wrote a movie review for Happy Gilmore. But it is as tired worn out and silly as any phrase that peaked in popularity in the mid-1990’s and if that is really how you felt, why did you finish watching it?

  • KBSacto August 18, 2014, 3:32 pm

I watched the video: the top five are S&W Sigma, Hi Point, 22LR rifle, SKS, and 38 special. They also mentioned the AK pistol. Most are very inexpensive to buy.

  • gym August 18, 2014, 3:17 pm

So a guess, Jennings, Brynco,, cobra, High point, and kel-tec. They are all throw away’s, most will shoot about 60% of the time. The kel-tec is about the best one, “even though someone will say how great they are. They are carried by many drug dealers because of their size and availability.
I forgot Jimmenez, so remove the Kel-tec for today

  • D. Hicks August 18, 2014, 12:17 pm

Do we win something if we guess right?

I find all Articles on GunsAmerica very interesting and informative. I read each and everyone. I learn something new everyday. But that is just me !

  • rob August 18, 2014, 10:38 am

I simply never watch most video’s. No one should put a video first or as the only source for info. I quit viewing.

  • Doc Peay August 18, 2014, 10:08 am

Really, I’m supposed to watch an eleven+ minute video to see a list of 5 guns? I’m not interested enough in the subject to do that.

    • Sam August 18, 2014, 10:32 am

Your whiny ass took the time to type your complaint but you don’t have time to watch the video?

      • jim August 18, 2014, 4:49 pm

My ass cant watch a video. Its blocked by my software that wont allow tracking crap in my browser.
I could easily read a list though.
You should try it. Reading makes you smarter, watching videos/TV is no different that watching the boob tube.

        • Jerry January 1, 2015, 8:55 am

          I like boobs

            boobs rule

      • Bill August 19, 2014, 12:08 pm

That is right! Wake up and smell the B.S.! If I watched every lame video that is put out I’d owe 300 dollars a month in data charges. They all saythat they are short and never are, minute after minute of useless blathering. When I can click and read I will….my time is also too important to sit thru 11 minutes of video before they finally show me 5 guns! Seriously, you have to ask?

      • Oltick August 20, 2014, 2:30 pm

If my whiney ass watched every 5 plus minute video that comes across my computer I’d need 25 hours in a day. Sorry, I have a life outside of emails, social media and a quick read of the news on conservative sources. Plus, I can read a hell of a lot faster than a video usually runs. Just my whiney ass comment that took much less time than the video would have.

And reading the hilarious comments counts for my relaxation time instead of 3 hours of prime time boob tube.

  • David August 18, 2014, 7:17 am

Somebody tell Chad to stop sweeping his hand with the muzzle…

  • bill August 18, 2014, 6:19 am

    I see hipoint…smith sigma/sd9ve…Jennings/bryco/jimenez….old 38 colt/smith police revolvers.. Most all are 9mm or 38 special…don’t see a glock but probly there

  • mach37 August 18, 2014, 4:08 am

    • Bass Man41 January 1, 2015, 4:22 pm

      Mach37,
I agree with you emphatically; why do most web-bloggers/ article writers insist on having us view a video. If they are going to entice us with a short attention grabbing question or statement that can be answered quickly, then just give that answer in a short message.

  • Matt August 11, 2014, 8:18 pm

    Hi-point, Glock,ak47,? Guessing without looking.
