I never got the big deal with trigger reset. Almost thirty years in the Marines including a one on one of the Marine shooting teams and I don’t ever remember hearing the word reset used. Marines harp on trigger control, but it never had anything to do with reset, regardless of 1911 or 92. No one ever talked about reset with the M14 or the M16A1 or A2 and, no one faults Marines for their marksmanship, techniques or training. I agree with Latham, I think the reset issue is nonsense. I guessing someone trying to teach others not to slap the trigger, to learn trigger and breath control used the term as part of that and, it just grew out of control with some stressing reset more than REAL trigger control.

I just watch Bad Trigger Habits i server 32 years as a police officer and the only thing I learned from our firearms instructor was “ practice practice practice “ I learn how to jerk the trigger very well pasted with a low score. Trigger Press which I could never seamlessly get it through my head because I was trying to reset the trigger. I learned how to reset my revolver trigger very well and score very high passing scores. When we made the transition to the pistols resting the trigger was out of the question.
I learned a lot from the video but now retired I can’t afford to go to the range to practice real live fire.
